I have never been compelled to write a…

I have never been compelled to write a bad review but in dealing with Lordgun I had to.
I returned two tyres that unfortunately did not fit my bike wheels, they were extremely tight. Fine, I packaged them up in a shipping bag from another cycling complany, in which I received some items, the bag was in perfect condition, other than it had been previously opened. I ensured the bag was taped up extremely well and posted to Irongun. Please bear in mind the tyres had been issued to me in a bag from Lordgun themselves, not boxed up then bagged, just a bag.
Lordgun contacted me to advise the bag had arrived in unsuitable (not damaged) packaging, no mention of damaged tyres and that they would not be accepting my refund and I had to pay them postage to return the tyres back to me (?!).
I have tried now on a few occasions to refute this but they have remained adamant that they will not refund me (they have now forgotten about the demand for me to pay them to post back), even though the tyres are clearly undamaged. The reason being unsuitable packing.
My argument to this is how can anyone be responsible for how your post is handled once in transit?
I have received no photos, nothing. So there is no evidence, just their word.
Having now seen other reviews of this company, I wish I had not purchased from them.

NB:

Response from Lordgun just proves my point. No damage to the tyres whatsoever, but they will not issue a refund because the packaging was not the ‘specific’ packaging they suggest it should be. They can happily re-sell the tyres and leave me out of pocket. Double bubble for them - sorry but they are scammers!

Dear Customer,

We are sorry to read about your disappointment and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify what happened.

Before the return was shipped, we informed you— as we do with all customers — that items must be packed adequately and securely to avoid damage or loss during transport. Unfortunately, the parcel we received arrived open, with the tyres partially hanging out of the packaging. Although the tyres themselves were not damaged, the condition of the package did not meet the minimum requirements for a safe return.

For this reason, and in line with our clearly stated return policy, we were unable to accept the return. We initially asked for the shipping fee to send the items back to you, which is standard procedure in such cases. We understand this situation is frustrating, but we must apply the same rules consistently to ensure fairness to all customers.

Many customers follow the packaging instructions carefully, using sufficient tape and sturdy materials to ensure their return arrives in good condition. When a parcel arrives open or improperly sealed, we cannot be held responsible for what may occur in transit — just as customers would rightfully expect proper packaging from us when we ship their orders.

Kind Regards
Lordgun Team

I ordered Magura MT7 brakes, and they were delivered from Italy to the UK within two days. Even with import duties, the overall cost was more economical.

I’ve order a number of items for delivery to the UK. Despite Lordgun being in Italy I’ve always received the items the next day. That’s quicker than if I order from within the uk. Quality service and items always spot on.

If you're happy to wait it's worth it

Took a while to be delivered but I knew that would be the case. I'm in the UK and it came from Italy with no problems, also didn't get hit with any import fees. Package arrived in perfect condition and I'm very happy, I will be using this site again.

Easy to use website with competitive prices.

I have used Lordgun several times. As long as the parts are in stock I have found they are usually very competitive. You have to take into account the shipping which costs more so worth it when buying at least 2 items or more. Shipping is usually quite quick taking into consideration its coming to the UK from Italy. I will continue to use them.

Misleading product photos and dismissive customer service

Ordered a helmet from Lordgun.co.uk that looked completely different from the pictures on their website — a clear case of a misleading product listing. When I contacted their customer service, they admitted the photos were wrong, but only offered €10 as compensation.

I declined and requested a full refund and coverage for the return shipping, which seemed reasonable given it was their mistake. Instead, they told me to destroy the helmet and send photos as proof. This made the whole refund process feel unprofessional and dismissive.

Very disappointing experience and poor return policy handling. I regret ordering from them and would not recommend this shop to anyone who expects accuracy and accountability.

Dear customer,
Thank you for your feedback, and we're truly sorry for the disappointment caused by your recent experience.
You are absolutely right to expect the product images on our website to accurately represent what you receive. In this case, there was indeed a discrepancy in the product photos for the helmet you ordered — it showed a plain white design, while the actual helmet included additional colorful elements.
To address the issue, we offered a partial refund as compensation for the incorrect image, while allowing you to keep the helmet. As you preferred a full refund, we proposed the standard procedure we follow in such cases: making the item unusable and providing photographic proof, which then allows us to refund the full amount without requiring return shipping. This method is part of our established process for handling incorrect or defective items and is used across similar situations, including warranty claims.
We do appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and while we regret that your experience fell short of expectations, we hope to have the opportunity to serve you better in the future.

Kind Regards

Beware this is NOT a UK website, you will be caught out by hidden fees

TLDR I paid over £100 to try on a helmet...

I bought a helmet for £151 from lordgun, it's a UK website so I assumed it would arrive from the UK. I didn't pay enough attention to the fine details (which were not on the first page when viewing products to buy) to see my helmet would actually be sent from Italy.

I paid £13 for postage, was hit with a £50 import tax, and then found the size was way way off and I had to return it.

I then had to pay another £20 in postage, and another £25 import tax to Italy. I sent them the Italy import tax email, which they then paid and took off my refund without first asking if I was ok with that.

I don't think it's fair I should have to pay 100% of the cost as it was the incorrect labelled size that meant I had to return it to begin with. At the very least I think they should be paying the import tax to their own country if I have to do it for mine.

They have lost nothing and can keep the helmet to resell, I have lost over £100 with nothing to show for it.

I'm now seeing lots of other people from the UK caught out by the .co.uk website, and then Lordgun just reply telling people "You should have checked our legal page that shows we are in Italy". WHY NOT PUT IT ON THE ACTUAL PRODUCT PAGE BEFORE CHECKOUT TO WARN PEOPLE, with so many others falling victim for the same thing you must know you are tricking people at this point and something needs to be done about this.

If they try to reply with some excuse to this review, please give any reason why you can't warn customers of the extra fees on the initial product page like other websites such as Amazon and Ebay do if shipping international. Why have you made it harder to find in a separate legal page or halfway through the checkout process on a .co.uk domain. (Looks like they replied with no excuse to why they can't better inform customers where they are truly based. They have put much more effort into appearing like a UK based website than they have into warning customers about where they are truly based.)

Dear customer,

Thank you for contacting us and sending us feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear about your experience and the unexpected costs you incurred. We understand how frustrating this must have been and appreciate the opportunity to respond.

We’d like to clarify a few points while also acknowledging the concerns you’ve raised.

1. Location & Import Duties:
Lordgun is based in Italy, as stated on our Legal Information page, which is accessible from every page of our website.

Unfortunately, since the UK is no longer part of the EU, customs duties, VAT, and handling fees may be charged by UK authorities when goods are imported. These charges are outside of our control and are not collected or set by us. We do inform customers of the possibility of such charges both via a pop-up warning before checkout (which must be acknowledged to proceed) and in the cart, in accordance with international selling standards.

2. Sizing & Return Costs:
We're sorry to hear the helmet size wasn’t as expected. While we strive to provide accurate sizing information, we understand that sizing can sometimes vary between brands and models. Return costs, including any import charges to Italy, are unfortunately the responsibility of the customer, as stated in our Returns Policy, which aligns with the standard practices of international e-commerce.

Please know that the import tax to Italy was not an extra charge but a fee we had to pay to receive the return. We paid the fee directly and deducted it from your refund. We do understand how that could feel unfair, especially when you were already disappointed with the product.

Once again, we’re very sorry you’ve had this experience, and we appreciate your honesty in pointing out areas where we can improve.

Kind Regards
Lordgun Team

Dear customer,
thank you for contacting us and sending us feedback.
Unfortunately shipping to islands takes longer than regular delivery. The courier tried to deliver your parcel on the 4th day since disptach but the shipment has been refused. They still tried to deliver the package multiple times after the first delivery attempt. The parcel has later been returned to the sender:
in case of rejected delivery, shipping fees and costs of return are deducted from the refund amount as per practice.

Great product but long delivery times and evasive customer service

The product was great and at a great price point. However, they advertise the product as available within 7 days, and then their T&Cs give them 50+ days to deliver it. They were not honest about the delivery timetable when questioned and they continued advertising the product as available within 7 days, while telling me it would take 3 weeks.

ORDERED NOT RECEIVED

I ordered a product on 08/08/25. No goods received. I have queried this with them, they have acknowledged that there has been an error in delivery and that the package has been sent back to their FACILITY. They will not refund until they have received said item. Poor service, well actually no service some seven weeks after my order was placed.

We regret to inform you that your parcel has been returned to us by the courier, who unfortunately did not provide a reason for the failed delivery attempt. Upon receiving the returned package, we promptly issued a full refund to the original payment method used at the time of purchase.
