More Than Sailing — Unforgettable Adventures and Amazing People
I joined the London Sailing Club looking for more sailing experience, but what I found was much more than that — a genuinely welcoming community, unforgettable adventures, and some of the best social experiences I’ve had in years.
My recent Dorset and Isle of Wight trip perfectly captured what makes this club special. Even though the wind conditions were challenging, the skipper adapted the plans brilliantly, turning the weekend into a memorable mix of learning, teamwork, exploration, and fun. We practised real sailing skills, enjoyed beautiful coastal scenery, shared long conversations onboard, laughed through card games and pub evenings, and simply enjoyed being part of a supportive crew.
What impressed me most was the atmosphere. There was no competitiveness or pressure — just experienced and newer sailors helping each other, learning together, and making everyone feel included. Whether you want to improve your sailing skills, gain confidence on the water, meet interesting people, or simply escape everyday routine for a few days, LSC creates exactly that environment.
The club offers much more than sailing itself: it creates friendships, confidence, teamwork, and memories that stay with you long after the trip is over.
I would absolutely recommend London Sailing Club to anyone curious about sailing — whether you are a complete beginner or already experienced. Chances are, you’ll come back from your first trip already looking forward to the next one.
I had tester day with this club
I had tester day with this club. It was great day, I had opportunity to try different things on the boat. I felt safe and comfortable.
London Sailing Club
LSC are such a warm welcoming group who make a massive effort to organise accessible and inclusive events. Thank you for all that you do.
Great Sailing, Great People, Great Experience
I’ve had a really great experience with LSC Sailing Club. It’s a genuinely welcoming place, especially for beginners.
So far, I have joined two of their trips (the September rally and the Easter Egg Hunt), and both were fantastic. The skippers on my trip ( Maurice and Nick!) were very experienced, friendly, and incredibly patient, which made a big difference as someone still learning.
Everything was very well organised, and the trips are excellent value for money. There’s a great mix of fun and learning, and you never feel out of place as a newcomer. On top of that, the social side is really fun, which adds to the overall experience alongside the joy of sailing.
If you're curious about sailing, I’d definitely recommend giving LSC a try.
I had my dream coming true yesterday…
I had my dream coming true yesterday when myself and my daughter did experience day, sailing from Port Hamble Marina for a day at sea! Amazing crew! Could now have had a better experience and we are both joining the LSC this month! Very much looking forward for the experiences and learnings ahead. 5*
For many years
For many years, I've experienced sailing with the LSC and have even captained several voyages. This year's LSC Rally stood out as the most exceptional so far! It truly shines as a major highlight of the Club's year.

Joining London Sailing Club is a great way to get out on the water whether you're a novice or a skipper. People are friendly and enthusiastic and the cost is affordable. The autumn rally with 6 yachts is just one of many great experiences. I have never regretted joining and have learned plenty about sailing.
Super friendly
Super friendly, affordable yacht sailing experiences . I’ve done 3 trips around the Solent now, all well organise and safe. All trips enquired and then catered for my food allergies.Met some interesting people with a range of sailing experience including novice; always had a competent and experienced skipper on board. Would recommend
Our first time sailing with the LSC
Our first time sailing with the LSC and it won't be the last. Our weekend sailing in the Solent was superbly well organised. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. An excellent experience all round. Would definitely recommend. All levels of experience are catered for.
An easy and fun way to get on the water
I’ve done two trips with LSC over the past year, a week in the Med and a weekend in the Solent. Both have been exceptionally well organised and more than delivered what they promised. LSC has members from all walks of life and all experience levels. It’s welcoming, inclusive, active and well organised. Its monthly pub evenings are a great way to keep in the loop about what’s happening. I definitely recommend the LSC if you have even the smallest of interests in sailing. Joining and booking trips is easy, with a good web site. Membership is very cheap and trip costs are reasonable too. For those of us who don’t own boats, it’s a great way to get on the water.

A very friendly bunch of enthusiastic sailers. I went on my first trip for Easter. It was a really nice mixed bunch of professional people. They showed us the ropes and were very patient for beginners which was excellent.

I have been sailing with the club for a few years and skippered several trips in the UK and abroad. The club has a great mix of experienced sailors and novices, racers and cruisers, ages and languages all with the common aim of having a great time and a love of sailing. I‘ve met some amazing people through the club who are now friends.

The online Theory Thursday course is brilliant and I have learned a great deal from it. The knowledge saved my life during a kayak trip in strong currents around the Eastern Isles of St.Martin's in the Isles of Scilly.
Looking forward to the next adventure!
great sailing weekend
It was a great sailing weekend, a lot of fun and a good organisation. I definitely will sail with LSC again.
Welcoming to all
I've been a member of the club for many years. It's a great place to meet like-minded people and get out on the water. Always feel safe when I'm out with the club and they welcome all abilities. If you want to develop as a skipper the club offers the opportunity to do that too. The September Rally is a calendar highlight and this year I took part in the Easter Egg Hunt for the first time which combined sailing AND chocolate - the perfect weekend!
2023 September Rally
I have sailed with the LSC for many years, and skippered a number of trips, as well. This year’s LSC Rally was the best yet! It’s definitely a highlight of the Club’s calendar.
Great introduction to sailing
Have been to a few events with the group and all have been great. The club is super friendly and welcoming of new members and have a variety of events to suit different skill levels from novice to experienced.
