Reactive, punctual and efficient!

The low level of English among the staff which caused misunderstanding. The result was I had to pay almost double even though it was not my fault. The car was dirty outside and inside. The additional payment was done from my credit card without my permission. I would never recomend this company to anyone.

Great service! Very fast and smooth

I had no problem at all with booking a car for the same day. No deposit, no credit card required for the full insurance package. Returning the car was also very easy at the designated location but i had to call and ask were so they can send me the instructions per whatsapp.

We had a great experience with Locauto in Bari. The whole rental process was smooth and straightforward, and the staff was helpful and professional.

The car was excellent, clean and in very good condition, and we had absolutely no issues during our 3-day rental. The pick-up and return process went well overall.

Everything went smoothly, and we would definitely rent from Locauto again. Highly recommended!

Very disappointing experience with Locauto.
I had a tyre failure and immediately contacted them. Instead of providing roadside assistance, I was told to change the wheel myself. The tyre was worn down to the cords, creating a serious safety risk.
I later received a €310 charge, including €70 for roadside assistance that was never provided.
I have photos and documentation proving the tyre’s condition. The matter is being formally disputed.
I would not rent from Locauto again.

Car was perfect. Staff in Bari office is efficient, instructions for the check-out week-end clear, and received in our native language !
A plus would be to receive a notification from Locauto when they have checked the car in order to be sure that everything is ok, because nobody is present for the check-out.

It was great, very fast when we picked it up with clear directions and when we had to drop it off, we asked if we could leave the car at a Locauto parking and office that is different from the one we chose initially, because of change of plans and they said no problem!

Extremely poor service and misleading rental experience

I did not receive the car I had paid for. I had reserved a Škoda Octavia estate, but instead I was given a small Jeep Avenger.

Even more concerning, I was required to sign the damage and inspection documents before I had even seen the vehicle. The car was eventually handed over to me on the street, without any proper explanation or inspection. I was simply given the key, after which the young man who handed it to me left on an electric step. There was no proper handover at all.

When I returned the car, I was charged €1,770 for damage that was already present on the vehicle, as well as for a missing parcel shelf that was not in the car when I received it. I strongly dispute these charges.

During the rental period, the car also developed a malfunction. When I reported this, I was told that a rental employee could take a look at it. I explained that I believed it was most likely a software issue and specifically requested either a qualified mechanic to come to the location or a replacement vehicle. Neither option was provided.

Overall, this was an extremely poor experience, with unacceptable customer service, an incorrect vehicle, no proper inspection or handover, and disputed damage charges. I will also be forwarding this matter to my legal expenses insurance provider for further assistance.

I would strongly advise others to think twice before renting from this company.

I am giving this experience 1 star due to the complete lack of response to my complaint regarding an incorrect overcharge.
My original booking included full “Don’t Worry” insurance, but after repeated pricing errors and contradictory confirmations from Locauto, the insurance was removed from my booking without my knowledge, and I was subsequently charged again for it at the Bari Centrale branch.
I submitted a detailed complaint through your Customer Service Portal on 6 August, attaching all booking emails and WhatsApp conversations as evidence. I sent another reminder on 10 August, again attaching the complete documentation. I have still received no response or acknowledgement whatsoever.
I am therefore requesting that this matter be investigated urgently and that the wrongly charged amount be refunded at the earliest.
