Shop closed despite calling to check

Following the company’s response, I’ve updated my review score as this was clearly due to circumstances outside their control.
That said, a simple note on the door explaining the situation would have saved me waiting around for over an hour.
Original review:
I called ahead to check an item was in stock and confirmed the shop was open until 5pm. I mentioned I’d be there in a couple of hours and was told, “Great, see you later.”
I then made a 2-hour drive to Burton, arriving at around 3pm - well within their stated opening hours - only to find the shop closed and locked up.
I tried calling again and knocked on the windows, then waited for over an hour, but there was no response and no sign of anyone returning.
After that, I had no choice but to drive the 2 hours back home.
Very disappointing experience, especially after calling ahead and receiving confirmation.

We completely understand how frustrating this must have been, particularly after you called ahead to confirm we were open and then made a two-hour journey to reach us. On this occasion, our early closure was the result of an unexpected power cut affecting the local area. With no electricity, we were unable to operate safely or securely and had no choice but to close the premises until power was restored — something that was entirely outside of our control. This is not the experience we ever want for our customers, and we are truly sorry that your journey was wasted as a result.

Ordered an fx impact m3 magazine on back order. Livens arranged for this to be delivered to me direct from SGC to speed up delivery. Although it took a little longer than hoped I put this down to the time of year and SGC not Livens (and it arrived on Christmas eve :-) . All communications around my order were dealt with promptly and professionally. I would definitely recommend ordering for Livens gun shop.
