Very expensive lighting, look great but connectivity reliability is absolutely awful- thousands spent WORST mistake we made. Avoid at all cost! No support whatsoever

Lifx products are amazing to begin with…
Lifx products are amazing to begin with and customer support is the best. I have written with Felipe and he has been Great at solving problems with a alot of patience.
Warning - no customer support!
If something goes wrong you're screwed as they don't seem to have any customer support whatsoever. Been trying to contact them for months and still no response.
Anyone know where I can buy a replacement power supply for their Light Strip as they shipped me a faulty unit? Controller and strip working ok but power supply is as dead as their customer support department.
Be careful buying these lights.
Be careful buying these lights.
The LED strips seem to last a long time (I have 6 sets of Z strips and all are still functioning well) but the bulbs are unreliable. I bought 7 of their 1200 lumen 'colour' changing bulbs at about £50 to £60 each expecting them to outlive me (22 years LED lifespan Lifx quote) but I realise now that is probably just the LED's themselves not the bulb assembly. After 4 years 4 of the 7 have failed, the last one cracking apart where it has obviously over heated. Lifx only offer a 2 year warranty so I'm now out of luck looking for a free or low cost replacement. Suggest you look elsewhere, Philips and TP-link now offer similar functionality as lower cost. I'll slowly swop over room by room.
None existent customer service
Can’t even contact them by email now. Just a useless app trying to give the same unhelpful advice. As soon as these devices die I won’t replace them with LIFX. Avoid. Unless you like stress.

Consistently reset on their own back to bright white and are nondiscoverable on the app.
Not as bad as most of the reviews here
Not as bad as most of the reviews here. Have about ten lights in total had one go on me after about 3 to 4 years and a couple with bad connections. I now have a mesh wifi network and the lights are fine now. I do have around twenty devices in the house so maybe having connectity issues is to be expected. Do however like the app and the Google assistant integration.
I agree about the support being not great they did reply but never resolved the issue. In terms of the solidity of the devices against breakage they are fine.
I do wish they would bring out a switch in the uk. As turning it off can lead to connection issues.
To be honest I think a lot of connectivity issues with IoT devices is down to not having enough bandwidth on internal WiFi and device manufacturers should be more clear that you may need boosters especially if you have lots of devices.
I bought these lights
I bought these lights, connected them one time at my house in AZ. I recently moved to Texas and I have been trying to connect them and they will NOT, no matter what I do connect again. I tried redownloading the app- won't work, tried resetting the lights the way they tell you to on the app- it won't work!! The help option they have on the app doesn't even work. I was excited to set up these lights in my new home, but I didn't think I could only connect them one time. Don't buy these lights, a waste of time and money. You'll be disappointed.
LIFX's support is non-existent
LIFX's support is non-existent. They USED to have great support over the phone... now they only offer email support... and it is HORRIBLE!!!! I have been having problems for weeks, and it's still not resolved! I invested in over 100 expensive Lifx lightbulbs... and they're falling off the network one by one and won't reconnect. I have tried the Lifx support chat... the Lifx email support (for many weeks)... and I have invested countless hours reading and looking for help online in articles. They take days to respond to an email... and when they do, it's essentially a "canned" response and not helpful. This have become a complete waste of an enormous amount of time... and a horrible investment!
DO NOT BUY LIFX PRODUCTS... YOU WILL NOT GET THE SUPPORT YOU NEED! PERIOD!!!!
Terrible, do not buy.
I have been using Lifx for what feels like a year. It's been great up until today. I have had to reset it a bunch, and haven't had much problem, until today. I went through the usual steps, but I keep ending up in a loop and it is INCrECIBLY frustrating. I would love to smash it. I am going to by a Philips bulb because this is a piece of poop. It should not be this hard. They have no customer service, it is all automated. Many people have complained about this, as you can easily see. Do not buy. Wish I could return it, but it's too late.
I have the light for r years now
I have the light for a years now. Had a lot of problems with it. First of all connection problems with too bulbs. Then after 4years one bulb died after update.
Was working fine before. But the Guarantee is only 2 years didn't us the light more then 1 hour a day it was my bathroom light.
Don't bay this I'm moving the hue.
This bulb price a year 17.50euro
Terrible none existent customer…
Terrible none existent customer service. Amazing products just an absolute s**t team. They should be ashamed of themselves as a company.
Not only did the lights break after a…
Not only did the lights break after a week, not only did the refund take months of hassle and emails, but a few months after I got my refund, I was messaged by a guy on WhatsApp who I didn't know which freaked me out, he claimed to have purchased my broken lights off eBay and asked me why they were broken, I said who the hell are you because I was obviously quite scared a random guy messaged me on WhatsApp, I'm obviously angry at this point so I contact LIFX who said there would be an internal investigation, I asked them for follow up updates into the investigation and when I asked why they hadn't emailed me in a few months, they closed the case!!!
Do not buy from this scam company, not only was the product terrible but I also experienced a major privacy issue.
Just terrible overall
Just terrible overall the bulbs disconnect about once a week and it takes hours to fix them. Good luck with the customer support too! Just trash in general wouldnt recommend.
Dont bother buying and none existing customer service.
I wish i read reviews before buying their crap. Worked for 2 months and stopped. Customer service is none existence dont waste your money. I have sent 5 tickets since 2020 none have been replied. Wish someone could blow them out of the market to administration.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
I am still waiting on my order from last year, I bought it on black Friday in November and still waiting in May with no reply from them on where and if I am going to get it....
Really poor, often don’t turn on.
Annoyingly bought the GU10 bulbs as these were the only ones that had a long enough neck to fit in the bathroom ceiling recess, I was absolutely duped into wasting a couple of hundred pounds. It’s genuinely embarrassing when the lights cost so much money.
All my lights in my entire house have no problem working but the LIFX ones are constantly not turning on or off and it’s driving me crazy, and a quick search of the internet shows you I’m one of many. Don’t spend the money when cheaper less niche brands like Hue actually work.
The only positive is how damn bright the lights go.
Bulbs useless after bayonet breaks.
Bulbs useless after bayonet breaks.
I bought a pack of 4 LIFX mini color bayonet bulbs.
With a simple twist to take them out of the socket two of the bulbs had broken off their little metal bayonets. It is merely chance that the other two have not broken yet. It is clearly a bad batch.
I raised a support ticket with LIFX. After taking pictures and showing serial numbers and giving my order number, they will only try and replace the two. I had to fill in a long warranty form and re-repeat all the information I already gave them from the support ticket. I had to use a magnifying glass to read the very small numbers on the bulbs. The amount of information and boiler plating they require is onerous.
This has been an expensive and energy sapping experience. I advise to not purchase from LIFX.
WORST APP EVER
Used to be good but products are trash now…
Used to be good but products are now unreliable and fail after a couple of months of use. Customer service completely ignores warranty claim with only automated responses for months. Don’t buy from this company unless you like burning money.
Don’t bother buying into this company
Don’t bother buying into this company, after many reviews about what they offer seemed better than the phillips hue range, so you know how it is? Choose one company and fill your whole house with those products, i bought about 13 items and trust me this was not cheap at all to fill the house, mainly because i loved the idea of the strip led’s that change so many colours so a fair few hundred pounds down the road i’ve filled every light fitting i can even the bedside lamps
So must be 6mths down the road one of the strip lights just refused to work, i reset it and deleted it from network ect and everything to try and get it working again to no joy
I bought in the eco system because of the “apparent” excellent warranty they offer for after sales
So trying to get on website to go for a refund, new one, or some help fixing it ect you find your self spending and hour running around, looking for dates of purchase for that single light, about 3 serial numbers ect, you name it your there scratching your head because its such a chore
So you finish everything required and you send off the info, get email saying merry xmas and have a happy new year a week into jan, so rings alarm bells that no one has updated the reciept, and hear nothing at all back from them, and i still have a faulty light, really bad customer service considering how they go on about if you have a problem no problem ect
My suggestion is go with the phillips option at least they had years of good customer service and well known
Incidently my partner bought a cheap strip light from amazon, does all the same cost her £15, works perfectly a year on, goes to show you does’nt it some thing are over priced and not worth it when they break in 6mths after big outlay
