Do NOT book equipment rentals through Liftopia!
I booked a ski trip to Mammoth and booked my ski rentals through Liftopia. Liftopia acts as a middle man for a great equipment rental company called Black Tie. When one of our children got run into while skiing, we ended up going home a day earlier and returned the equipment to Black Tie a day earlier. Black Tie was happy to issue a full refund for unused equipment but Liftopia was not. So even though it would have cost Liftopia nothing to issue the credit, they chose to make a 'money grab' and give us nothing. DO NOT USE LIFTOPIA TO RENT SKI EQUIPMENT! Use a direct operator because a vast majority of them will issue equipment rental refunds in case your plans change!
Their strict "no refund" policy is unfair when you cancel order immediatley
I bought lift tickets for my family a full 10 days in advance of our first trip to Utah. After I authorized the charges to my credit card, a notice popped up advising me that Deer Valley does not allow snowboarding. I contacted Liftopia minutes later to tell them we could not use the tickets. They refused to credit my charge account, and would only give me a "Liftopia credit" for $384. We can't ski at any of the resorts they service, but they are keeping my $400, even though it cost them nothing and I cancelled immediately.
LIftopia Home of No Customer Service
Like a few others would give zero stars if possible. Yesterday on Christmas I received a gift card for $250 from my girlfriend for Christmas. Wrote to customer service the next day that my Doctor will not allow me to ski because of Deep Vein Thrombosis (aka Blood clot issue) in my calf. He doesn't want me in ski boots or skiing due to the level of blood thinners I am on permanently. I wrote to customer service right away and the response I got was as if they didn't even read my submission. The response was from Katie stating "I know it can be frustrating given your
present travel situation, but we can't refund, credit, or change a gift card." ( I don't have travel situation, I have medical condition and no tickets were purchased, they just took money for a gift card that can't be used, nothing for them to lose) Just greedy corporate bs. They try to make themselves seem human with their marketing ads and games, but they are not, just the same old crap from large internet corporations $$$$$$) She further suggested I pass it on to another friend if I can't use it. Sure Katie lets just throw around $250, it's nothing to rich people at your San Francisco office. Thanks for crapping on Christmas. We are going to do what another person being hosed did in the same situation, warned others and just got credit by going directly to credit card company. I will never use Liftopia because I can never ski again, but I will be sure to let others who can ski know. Don't buy gift cards for friends on liftopia, there is no responsible flexibility should there be any reasonable issues, even doctor ordered. These guys suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!
not worth it
Non refundable tickets are just one issue. Windchills -30 which is just plain dangerous. I must eat the cost of the ticket. I will not use Liftopia again. Just not worth the $10 saving/. Non flexible policy. DONT DO IT ,
Great experience
We ordered a week in advance and were able to get a solid discount. The process was easy and very simple. Just don't forget to bring your ID to pick up the tickets and you shouldn't run into any issues.
Liftopia is AWESOME
I read 65% of the reviews and it is all people who made mistakes and blamed their mistakes on liftopia it seems. Read what you are buying and follow the instructions. Liftopia saved me a ton of money ($250 saved on a 5 day trip) and was easier than purchasing tickets from Loveland!. I used them last year and am on the computer right now buying for this year, although they do not have Loveland yet it seems. I recommended them to everyone going on our trip this year.

Great service
I booked two lift tickets for Loveland ski. Saved almost $40. Picked up with ease at basin. Seems all the bad reviews are from people who changed the date or picked the wrong day. I knew exactly what day I needed and everything worked great.
Would use again.

Horrible customer service- Thieves!
Liftopia is ruining the names for the resorts they hustle passes for. I went to SnowBird for my first time after living in Utah for two years. A simple mistake of purchasing tickets for two adults, mistakenly purchased a pass for two days instead. Arrived to SnowBird and they told me that i had to pick up my other pass for tomorrow- tomorrow. I was confused thinking that i had two adult tickets VS 1-2day tix. I didn't plan on riding there for two days. The ticket office said that i can contact Liftopia and they should be able to to change it for today, but no. They did not, they could not help me, I spoke to a "supervisor" and she was just very unpleasant and rude. They are thieves! You only save 10$ and if you make a simple little mistake you get 90$(or depends on which resort you go to, could be more) stolen from you. Now i get to go up there, pick-up the ticket and go sell it in the parking lot. I will never use Liftopia again, I work in the Ski Hospitality Industry at a Front Desk. I will always warn all my guest about how Liftopia is a waste of money and time, its a scam and to never use them. Ruined my first experience at SnowBird and will not go back because of this. & no wounder why Vail doesn't associate themselves with them, ruining names due to horrible customer service and guest recovery!

This Company May Be Close to A Class Action Lawsuit for Its Practices per Other Reviews - Per Many Customers BEWARE
WENT TO PICK UP 3 OF 5 DAY PASS, ARRIVING AT RESORT ON DAY I SAID I WOULD. SINCE I GOT THERE AROUND 6 PM, I WENT TO PICK UP THE APPROX 265 DOLLAR PASS THE NEXT DAY. "WE DON'T HAVE A PASS FOR YOU". LIFTOPIA SAID "YOU HAD TO PICK IT UP YESTERDAY ... IT'S VOID NOW ... WE'RE KEEPING YOUR $265 NOW".
IT APPEARS THAT LIFTOPIA OBVIOUSLY HAS HORRIBLE REVIEWS. THIS REVIEW IS NO EXCEPTION TO ALL THE OTHER NEGATIVE ONES. AND I'VE ONLY SEEN NEGATIVE ONES.
AVOID LIFTOPIA IS THE STRONG RECOMMENDATION. REVIEWS ONLINE INLCUDING THIS ONE BELIEVE LIFTOPIA SHOULD BE SUBJECT TO A CLASS ACTION SUIT FOR HOW THEY DO BUSINESS.
FIRST THE DATE I TYPED IN WASN'T ACCURATE. IT WASN'T WHAT I TYPED IN, BUT A WEEK OFF. WHEN I CALLED AND GOT THAT FIXED, THEY SAID "THAT WAS YOUR ONE CHANGE AND YOU CANNOT EVER MAKE ANOTHER CHANGE TO YOUR ORDER". THAT MISTAKE WAS NOT MINE TO START WITH!!
THE MAIN THING IS THEY APPEAR TO PROFIT FROM THE TRICKINESS OF THE CUSTOMER NOT FOLLOWING EXACT DETAILED PROTOCOL/LINKS/FINE PRINT/MISREPRESENTATIVE WORDING THAT CONFLICTS ITSELF ETC. ETC.
THIS IS MY FIRST HAND OPINION, IN 20 PLUS YEARS OF BUSINESS, THIS IS THE MOST DISHONORABLE AND DISRESPECTFUL COMPANY I HAVE EVER, EVER EXPERIENCED.

Never again!
Buyer beware. I tried to exchange for a Credit only...not a refund with 3 weeks notice to Liftopia because I previously fell trail running and my Shoulder and knee are too messed to drive let alone Ski. i have all kinds of Hospital Test Reports prior to buying the Ticket but nothing after. I thought I would be OK but aggravated my knee running. Without an updated Doctors note, it's impossible to get a Credit for this year or next..Seriously, I cannot go back to the Doctors Office every two weeks. Site shows that they are Sold out. They have all the Options to make honest money and more but choose to Steal money instead. Absolutely will not go through this site again.Just too Risky.

Horrible Experience Do not USE
Yesterday I was supposed to get on a flight with friends to enjoy a few days of snowboarding. I was struck with the a terrible sickness similar to the nora virus. Been laid up for 36 hours. Missed my flight. I have bought from liftopia with ease in the past and been very happy. However this experience is terrible. No chance to refund what so ever, told me they would send me info so I can provide a "doctors note" to prove I'm not just lying for a refund? I didn't even get that info from them! Ya I missed my one snowboarding vacation a year to get a refund from liftopia. What a joke. Very disappointed with the service and lack of respect. Id rather pay the mountain extra, at least they tried to help out.

Disappointment
I just want to say that I am so disappointed and outraged by Liftopia!! My husband and I bought tickets through them a couple of days ago to snowboard tomorrow, knowing about their no-refund policy. My three-week-old nephew was rushed to the hospital yesterday and has been in the ICU since. He was in critical condition and they still do not know what is going on. I called and asked Liftopia if we could change our ticket dates to another day (NOT EVEN ASKING FOR A REFUND). They said that since my nephews name is not on the ticket and that he is my nephew, technically, it doesn't have enough to do with me! MY THREE WEEK OLD NEPHEW has nothing to do with me?!?! We have been sitting at the hospital, waiting for answers and thought, surely, they will sympathize and at least let us switch the date right? Unfortunately, this is not the case. I understand policy but I also REALLY understand that family, no matter who it is, is still family. It's crazy to know that things that are completely out of our control, are not even considered.

Great Deal!
I've used Liftopia a couple of times now and it's worked great every time. Everyone seems to complain about their no refund policy, but it states it clearly. So, if there's a possibility that you're not gonna make it on the day you want to go, don't buy a pass from them. But if you know you're for sure going that day, then it's a great deal. I've used it at Sundance twice, and it was very smooth and saved me $15.

Don't waste your time - bogus
Searched for Cheap Nordic ski passes Utah. It took me to a Nordic Mountain page that had the same regular ski prices and times as the resort I was planning to go to. When I got to the Nordic, they said that this happens all the time. I went back to the email, didn't say anything about the lift passes being for a resort in WISCONSIN! Went back through my original journey, landed on the same page, and found in tiny font at the bottom of the page that the ticket was actually for Wisconsin. Horrible web design. Then when I called to get my money refunded the customer service rep just kept over talking me and being a jerk saying that it was well marked that the resort was in Wisconsin. I told him it was my mistake and I would pay for the ticket that had already expired but that I had purchased tickets in the future as well and would like them to be refunded. He started telling me it was my fault and they're not liable. Maybe not, but I was the first to make the mistake, the ticket office said they see it EVERY DAY!!

Terrible customer service. Worthless company
Do not purchase your lift tickets through liftopia.(CONS). DON'T give these scammers any of your money. Hopefully this company is out of business or shut down very soon.

This company lacks understanding, very strict, and feigns politeness
If you buy tickets from here plan on using them. Specifically you have to be the one using them. You can not make simple changes to your order. My wife and I ordered tickets from this website for a romantic get away and two days prior to our trip we had a family member pass away. I called customer support in hopes to change the names attached to the lift tickets so two close friends of ours could still use them. They refused to change the names. I suppose they were somewhat apologetic, but I really do not believe their was any sincerity behind their words. I do not understand how hard it could be to change names. I was not asking for a refund, I merely did not want my purchase to go to waste. This is just another company that places so many restrictions and rules on your purchase so they can take your money without delivering. Better luck to everyone else. If you have sudden issues come up I can assure liftopia will not care.

Terrible "customer support"
I tried using Liftopia for the first time for a night skiing ticket which I purchased the same day I was planning to go. A confirmation screen popped up on the app after I purchased, so I thought I was good.
When I got to the mountain I tried to retrieve the confirmation from the app, but it wouldn't let me, because I needed to log in. I figured they must have sent one to my email too.
Wrong, they sent me a link to reset my password instead. So I tried that, no email. I tried it again, no shiny new password was ever sent. I checked all of my folders, it wasn't in the spam folder. I tried about 10 more times before I tried calling. Customer service was closed. I sent an urgent request, they got back to me the next day. Of course that did me no good, so I had to purchase a ticket at the mountain that night since I had no way of proving I bought one from Liftopia.
The next day I contacted another customer service rep, they told me that they sent the confirmation, that if I had issues their hours are 6-6 pst and they understand my frustration but they refuse to refund.
In total I contacted 3 customer service reps, each one knew I couldn't access my account, and I still cannot access my account 3 days later. Not that it matters since the ticket has long expired and I ended up just donating my money to this shady company. I do not recommend using them unless you enjoy gambling. (The ticket was the same price at the mountain anyway, I should have just bought it there and saved myself all of his hassle and money)

Thieves - Will Never Use Ever Again.
I had purchased two lift and rental tickets for my boyfriend and me for his Christmas present at Killington. We were to ski on January 9th, but I purchased the option to call 24 hours ahead to move the date once in case of poor conditions or weather. We traveled from Boston on Friday, January 8th to get up and out early Saturday. I woke up at 5 am with the worst stomach bug I have ever had. I was in bed for the entire day and even had to stay another night at the hotel, since I could not move to drive three hours back to Boston. My boyfriend stayed with me since he was the only one there with me, and I couldn't do anything for myself. He also had to drive me to the urgent care center for my doctor's note that liftopia needed from me in order to get refunded for the tickets. Liftopia rightfully credited me for my ticket, but refused to credit me for his. He had no interest in skiing by himself with my Christmas present to him and leaving me to take care of myself, in a random Quality Inn, three hours away from home. If I was trying to trick them into getting credited for these tickets due to bad weather, I wouldn't have purchased the extra money to have the option to call a day ahead and move the dates. I think we are well aware of the weather 24 hours in advance. I had never used Liftopia before, so they should be appreciative of my business. I will NEVER use them again for robbing me of $124 that went unused. They need to rethink their customer support and actually think like humans. I do not advise anyone in using them - it is barely even a discount and not worth the risk of not being refunded for circumstances that are out of your hands.

Liftopia and Snowbowl. Bad experience
These A-Holes are nothing but money stealing, inconsiderate, unethical, thieves. I had a ticket to go up on the 14th of January, today, but due to a flu, I was not able to make the trip at 5am this morning. They are unwilling to amend with changing to a later date and there is no way to even pay a difference charge for another ticket. I am very VERY displeased with this company and I will NEVER go through them with tickets EVER again. Talking directly to Snowball was worthless because they redirected me straight to Liftopia for any ticket concerns. I will be contacting the Arizona Attorney General to see if there is any recourse against this company.

Utopia won't change my dates, even though highway was closed
I purchased three lift tickets for Arizona Snow Bowl for Wednesday, January 6. I live in Phoenix. I-17 closed and it wasn't possible to travel from Phoenix to Flagstaff. The road to Snow Bowl was only open to those with chains, but even if we could have managed chains or a 4x4, we couldn't go to Flagstaff. When I called Liftopia, they told me there were no changes for any reason. I wasted $156.
