Theft of $500

There's a reason Blue Pacific properties are not available for review on Google, etc - they are a shady company looking to take advantage of clients at the first chance. They cancelled our August reservation while we were out of service range camping for the July 4th holiday weekend with no notice, and have refused to refund our $500 deposit despite the fact that they had already rebooked the property by the time we contacted them to find out what was happening on July 5th. We've been working with Airbnb support and Blue Pacific is has refused to respond to our messages or Airbnb support's attempts at contact. DO NOT book with this company.

Encourages Canceling VRBO Reservation and Booking Direct

I made a reservation through VRBO for a luxury rental in Sunriver, OR. The reservation was confirmed and my credit card was charged ($3K). My reservation was confirmed on Tues. Thursday I received a phone call at work from Blue Pacific Vacation Rentals claiming there was an error in the rate charged. I was at work and unable to discuss the matter, much less understand the fast talking representative. I requested they email me with the details. A series of emails ensued, with Blue Pacific Vacation Rentals providing a vague explanation of “the problem”, but explicitly offering a different total cost, excluding the VRBO fee. Today, Sun, I had a chance to look at the situation and called VRBO for their assistance. VRBO requested I forward them the email with Blue Pacific Vacation Rentals “offer”, which is a violation of VBRO’s policy. I was out on hold while Blue Pacific Vacation Rental was contacted by VRBO. After a few minutes, VRBO returned to the call, and said Blue Pacific Vacation Rentals mentioned they were “uncomfortable” with my reservation, and canceled it. Wait…what? They were uncomfortable with me and my $3K, (for 5 days) and VIOLATED the terms with VRBO, but I’m at fault? BEWARE! Blue Pacific Vacation Rentals has unethical business practices.

We have been renting and working with guests for over 20 years, and understand confusion can occur when guests choose to book their vacations through 3rd party websites. We reach out to each guest to review details and finalize reservations, and receive rave reviews for our properties and guest experiences. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach this guest initially with regards VRBO to a calendar error with the reservation and had sent messages when the booking was first received, advising the guest we would be calling. We attempted to reach the guest but were told we could not review details with her by phone as she was unavailable during working hours. Regarding the guest comment of "fast talking", the guest stated she couldn't talk once she answered the phone and the representative attempted to explain the reason for the call to schedule a better time for a call. The guest refused. We offered to assist her within her availability and the guest stated she could only email. We attempted to rectify the calendar error with the guest in her favor, but she was unwilling to discuss the matter with us. In the rare event of an error with our 3rd party listings we always work to see what can be done to help the guest make the booking work, which is what we were attempting to offer this guest. Rather than reaching out to us or requesting any further information, the guest avoided our contact, yet did have the time to call another party for assistance. Our House Rules on VRBO state we must be able to speak with a guest prior to proceeding with their reservation and issuing a rental contract that finalizes their pending reservation. We did have concerns with the guest occupancy count for the home for their large group, and she again refused to discuss the booking with us which made us uncomfortable as we must uphold our rules to protect our properties. As we do not want any guests uncomfortable with any aspect of their booking or reservation, we offered to fully refund the guest with no questions asked due to the calendar error. Once contacted by VRBO, we advised them of the same concerns on communication, occupancy, and abidance to House Rules. The representative agreed that a cancellation and full refund would best apply due to concerns and the guest's call. We are sorry and apologize that our attempts to work with and assist the guest were unsuccessful per her communication preferences and availability, and we do hope she finds a great location for her fall vacation.

Do NOT rent from Blue Pacific-we were…

Do NOT rent from Blue Pacific-we were 20 year customers, but the poor customer service and poor business practices July 2022 have ensured we will NEVER do business with them again.
We were provided with 2 rolls of toilet paper/1roll of paper towels and 3 garbage bags for 5 people in a 3 bedroom rental (Reflections of the Sea at the Village at North Pointe in Depoe Bay) for 6 nights.
When we requested more garbage bags to comply with their check out policy, we were told that we should buy them-seriously?
They also change prices at a whim and gauge people when they can get away with it.
We will use a different company next and plan on filing a BBB complaint.

WHY do you think they don't have a Facebook page or other social media? They do not want the real reviews to be out there.

Blue Pacific made unlawful charges to my credit card twice. One stating that I had not taken the trash out and that it took longer to clean - I contested this charge and because I contested this charge, they charged me again $125. They harassed me via phone and text messages for me to pay the additional $125.

Appalling customer service from Blue Pacific!

Appalling customer service from Blue Pacific Vacation Rentals! Upon arriving we noticed the unit was missing several items that had been supplied our previous 3 stays. (A few extra rolls of toilet paper, Kleenex, ample towels and washcloths etc.) We requested these from Blue Pacific. We were shocked by their response. We were informed that their staff photographs everything after stocking a unit for the next guests and had “verified” that the unit was fully stocked. Seriously? We just paid this woman $2,492.68 and she has the gall to question our integrity over a few rolls of toilet paper? We calmly informed her that we had looked in every possible location and the items simply were not there. While we were out of the condo her staff brought the missing items. (They still did not bring the Kleenex…) Rather than admit their omission and apologize, Blue Pacific had the audacity to send this follow-up text; “Our staff member was able to come by and verified supplies in the bathrooms. The additional towels, handtowels, and washcloths were in the bathroom cupboard/drawer and double checked. She was also able to verify both restrooms were supplied with 2 additional rolls of toilet paper under each sink as per the standard starter items for all units and verified each bathroom had kleenex on the counter.” Does this woman think we are blind? My husband and I don’t get upset easily, but this really struck a nerve. To treat a customer this way, especially over so small an issue, is the epidemy of poor customer service. (I would expect more from a Motel 6!) This, along with their dismal rating with the Better Business Bureau is ample reason to stay far away from this company.

Don’t rent property managed by Blue Pacific Vacation Rental. Horrible customer service! We’ve rented a Depoe Bay property four out of the last five years. (The Lighthouse) Never needed the management company until this trip. The unit was short several items such as TP, Kleenex, hand towels etc. We politely informed Blue Pacific. We received a very rude response stating that all items were stocked in the unit and insinuating that we must be either stupid, lying or both. Eventually the staff came with the missing items, but what a huge hassle! And no apology! We will never rent another property managed by this company. They have earned their ratings. 1.5 star Yelp and 1 star Better Business Bureau.

STOP-TURN AROUND-AND FIND A DIFFERENT COMPANY TO RENT FROM!!!!
Blue Pacific is a greedy company that has taken advantage of several different families during the Covid-19 crisis. They lined their pockets with our rental funds after we had to cancel due to some high-risk family members. We paid over $10k for a week in Sunriver, Oregon in a large Blue Pacific owned home. We had hoped to simply move our reservation to 2021, but they refused and gave us 3 days to choose from other bad options that only benefited them. Keep in mind, this was several months prior to our booked week in Sunriver, Oregon.
In the end we had no choice but to settle for a 50% refund meaning Blue Pacific kept the other $5k. To make things worse, they did rent the house out that same week. Any decent company would have come clean and said, "Hey, we are whole so here's your refund. We'd love to have you back next year." How hard is that? That is exactly what every other property rental company did in SR. We checked.
We have rented from Blue Pacific several times over the years and even encouraged others we know to consider their homes. That will never happen again, and we will share our negative experience with as many people as possible.
Our large family has been visiting Sunriver every summer for over 30 years. This company has used this crisis to take advantage of us and others. Shame on you! You owe our family $5,000 that we will never see.
As they say, one bad review is worth 5 good ones. Well, get ready for some bad reviews. You've more than earned them!

Blue Pacific says COVID does not apply?!?

As you can see from the numerous reviews since COVID, this company has taken advantage of its customers - many of them being long-time customers such as ourselves (13 rentals!).

We also had to cancel due to having multiple families coming from various parts of the country; many with underlying health conditions. It was one of the most painful transactions we've ever dealt with. We weren't even asking for a refund - we asked if we could apply our payment to the home the following year. Not "per the contract". COVID didn't exist when the contract was agreed upon! Rude, would not return calls, would not abide by the guidelines set forth by Oregon's governor.

Our own family made the decision to vacation in Sunriver alone, without the rest of our family. We called a few other property management companies, along with VRBO - they ALL had very lenient cancellation policies during this pandemic. Ended up using "Village Properties at Sunriver" - very gracious and helpful with our many calls.

Also, we found after renting from a different company, the "clean up" mandated by Blue Pacific is ridiculous! This was the first year, the only thing we needed to do was take out the trash and start the dishwasher - done. Not the case with Blue Pacific. The housekeeping fee BP charges would indicate a spotless home upon arrival - it's "surface" clean but never feels real clean.

Blue Pacific is not local and not nice. Avoid, avoid, avoid, and be kind and support the many other local businesses in Sunriver!

Blue Pacific-Nice Properties/Poor Customer Service

My family and I have rented from Blue Pacific for over 15 years. The reason we continued to rent thru them was a result of the properties they offered. The customer service level was average at best and often felt like we were bothering them whenever we had a question or request. Covid-19 brought our dissatisfaction to a different level. Their unwillingness to be flexible from their boiler plate T's and C's was frustrating and disappointing. This is a once in 100 years pandemic, and you would think just like most rental agencies and businesses, Blue Pacific would adjust their policies. Not the case. We followed the guidelines of the CDC and the mandate issued by the Governor of Oregon to determine whether or not we would take a family vacation. Blue Pacific would always revert back to the T's and C's of the contract, and even took the liberty to interpret the Governor's mandate saying this mandate didn't apply to vacation rentals. I had to laugh. Evidently, Blue Pacific must have an employee with a legal background:) Even though our party included 4 different families from multiple states numbering 14 in all-exactly the situation the CDC and the Governor mandate were targeting. Some of these family members with pre-existing medical conditions. My advice is to avoid Blue Pacific. Excellent properties to rent, sub par customer service. Nice to do business with a company you want to do business with rather than you have to do business with.

Avoid Blue Pacific Vacation Rentals

Blue Pacific Vacation Rentals was extremely inflexible handling our planned vacation rental during the COVID-19 pandemic, they absolutely stonewalled us and refused any reasonable accommodation.

We made our reservation a year in advance, along with a deposit, for a July 2020 vacation rental. The balance in full was made on March 1, 2020, just prior to the pandemic breaking out.

They refused to roll our existing vacation rental to 2021 and ignored the fact that there is a global pandemic. We rented from them 5 previous times and always paid on time and respected their properties, leaving them as we found them.

Blue Pacific showed horrid customer service, complete disregard for prior customer loyalty and utterly failed to "do the right thing".

Still Waiting for Resolution..... :(

Still haven't gotten this issue with Blue Pacific resolved. They won't answer phone calls or email calls if there are issues. If you have a credit card for a deposit they will answer the phone. They owe me and my family $10,619 and have had my money for over a year.

We have been staying at Blue Pacific vacation rentals for the last 9 years. We won’t go through anyone else because we have only had good experiences. We always trust that our condo will be ready and clean when we arrive.

Best condo stay!

We LOVED this particular condo! The views were stunning and the master bedroom next to the ocean lulled me to sleep with the ocean waves. The kitchen was fabulous and VERY well stocked. It was in impeccable condition and could easily be comfortable for two couple with two Master bedrooms! Location to everything you need and a great hot tub on he deck for cool nights. The washer and dryer was so nice to have! I honestly can’t say enough good things about this condo and the staff I talked to. We rent 5-6 times a year and this is one of my favorites by far!

Very well stocked kitchen

Very well stocked kitchen. We lacked nothing! Loved the decor that reflected the area. The mattresses on the beds were incredibly comfortable. All our guests gave them rave reviews. Would love to know brand. Lots of things to do inside the home to keep everyone entertained as well as bicycles and Shark passes to use to enjoy the surrounding area.
It’s such a large home with bathrooms attached to every bedroom so no sharing of bathroom facilities needed. Perfect for our group. But I do think with this size home more cleaning staff may be needed to ensure enough time to clean between renters. I think some cleaning measures are skipped to accommodate on time check-ins.
Overall a very fun vacation for all of us. Surroundings are beautiful and everything advertised for this property was fulfilled! Definitely plan to return someday.
