All was well until my daughter signed…

All was well until my daughter signed my will by mistake, when she was actually a beneficiary of the will, I noticed this straight away and notified Langham wills so they knew what had happened and asked how to rectify?, instead of telling us to cross out and re sign or offering to send out the signing sheet again I basically got a pay up again or you have no will type of reply!, this is not acceptable and is definitely the last time I deal with Langhams wills! RIP Chris, I can see that customer retention is definitely not your area of expertise!🤮

Dear Russell,
Thank you for your review.
As you acknowledge, the issue arose because the will was signed incorrectly, despite the clear instructions provided with the document pack. Unfortunately, where a beneficiary has signed as a witness, this is not an error that can simply be corrected by crossing out a signature or re-signing a page. A replacement will is required to ensure the document is legally valid.
We explained this position to you and offered a replacement will at a substantially reduced fee of £50. This was despite the fact that your will had originally been prepared at a discounted fee of £60, compared with our standard charge of £139. We had also stored your previous documents free of charge for several years.
Contrary to the impression given in your review, we did not leave you without options. We offered a clear and reasonable solution to rectify an issue that was not caused by our firm.
We are particularly disappointed by this review because it omits important context and follows a series of hostile and aggressive emails sent to our office after our explanation was provided. Whilst we respect every client's right to leave an honest review, we do not believe it is fair to attempt to damage a business's reputation where the issue arose from a failure to follow the signing instructions supplied.
In our view, this review is both misleading and malicious, as it fails to present a balanced account of events, disregards the assistance and goodwill extended to you, and seeks to attribute responsibility to our firm for an error that was not of our making.
We remain committed to providing a professional and courteous service to all of our clients and wish you the very best for the future.

Highly recommend

Writing our Last Will and Testimony is something as a couple we have been thinking about for years, but we kept putting it off as it is not the nicest thing to think about. However, when I found Kerry she instantly put me at ease with the whole situation and highlighted why having one in place is so important.

Kerry and Chris visited us at home and went through everything with us thoroughly. They were incredibly informative whilst being understanding of all of our concerns and answering our many questions.

We are both incredibly satisfied with the service we received from start to finish and are so pleased to have got this initially daunting task completed.
