My daughter ordered an advent calendar…

My daughter ordered an advent calendar in October 2025. It is now May 2026 and she still has not received it. I emailed the company who stated they just arrived in the US and would be shipped to us within the next week. That was April 23rd. Do not buy from this company.

4.5 rounded up to 5. The calendar itself is beautiful and well-crafted. The items feel truly unique and satisfying. I was really happy with it. However, they were slow to update on shipping information. If you reach out, they're very helpful and communicative and like I said, the stationery calendar was beautiful.

Wonderful Ghibli concept let down by poor business acumen

I really wanted to love this calendar.
The concept is genuinely brilliant, and you can clearly see the passion behind it, the design of the calendar itself is beautiful and very thoughtfully done.
However, unfortunately the execution didn’t match the idea.
From early on, there were issues. I received duplicate drawers and damaged items, which immediately took away from the experience. One of the main items I had upgraded for the silver Jiji necklace was missing, and it took until April to finally receive a replacement after ordering in early December. ( this was arranged speaking to a human via Instagram, avoid their email team , 'Olga' led me on a goose chase.
That completely changed the experience for me. An advent calendar is meant to be enjoyed day by day, and having that uncertainty and waiting months for resolution really took away from what should have been a special experience. It was honestly quite upsetting at the time.
There were also multiple operational issues:
Items arriving chipped or broken, due to insufficient padding in the drawers
No surplus stock available for replacements
Very inconsistent customer service email responses were slow and often felt like AI loops, whereas Instagram support was much more helpful and human
The biggest concern, however, was the jewellery quality.
The deluxe version which I paid £300 for was marketed as including silver jewellery, which was a key reason for the higher price point. After comparing and testing the items, they did not behave consistently with genuine 925 silver in the same way as other silver items I own. Note they don't tarnish and posses the wrong shine and weight..also they don't react correctly to a silver testing solution..
This is something that really needs reviewing with suppliers, as it directly impacts the value of the product.
From a business perspective, there are some clear improvements that would make a big difference:
Ensuring surplus stock is available for replacements rather than producing exact quantities
Reviewing supplier quality control, particularly for advertised materials
Improving consistency between customer service channels
Better packaging to prevent damage.
It’s a shame, because the idea itself is strong and clearly made with care but without stronger quality control and support, the overall experience doesn’t match the premium price point. I was invited to purchase next year's calendar but my trust is gone and my enthusiasm depleted.

Ghibli Advent calender 2025…

I have Purchased Ghibli Advent calender 2025.
I really enjoyed the surprises inside the box. There was one item damaged and the Team was kind enough to ship the damaged product. I was very happy to hear

Would give zero stars if I could, low quality terrible customer experience

Would give zero stars if I could. I ordered the very expensive advent calendar and it arrived in time and looked gorgeous. I was so excited to give it to my daughter. Unfortunately, it did not last long. When we opened one of the drawers for advent we were surprised by a cockroach that crawled out. I removed all the items from drawers to try to salvage what I could, and discovered that many of the items were also broken. I wasn’t able to keep the calendar box due to my concern about other bugs. I wrote to them and asked for a refund, sent pictures and they asked me if I had a video of the roach coming out of the calendar. No, I wasn’t planning for that so I didn’t. I did have photos. Then they said that I had to return the whole thing for a refund (it had been thrown out). So I returned the broken items and drawers I could and asked for a partial refund. They refunded me 11.00 dollars. If that’s the amount of the products I sent back, then I see why everything breaks. Avoid this company. Product looks nice but is not quality and customer service is worse. For the price I would not expect any of this. Very disappointed.

The concept of the Sugar Plum Bakery is 5 out of 5 stars!

The concept of this Advent calendar is absolutely amazing.
I truly appreciate the effort put in. It was so much fun to open, and each drawer was cuter than the other.
However, I ordered the calendar on the 9th of November, and it sadly didn't arrive before December. I received the package on the 11th.

I ordered the calendar after watching an unboxing of last year's calendar - so I was super excited. I was absolutely in love with the design last year, and I basically bought the calendar for the box and the ornaments that were in it last year (a gamble - I know!). I was very disappointed that the design had changed. But that one is on me; I could have used my eyes more before I ordered.
Luckily, this year's calendar did include one stained glass ornament. I got one with Cinnamoroll, which was exactly what I wanted. I would have loved more ornaments like this. I am also quite sad that the ornament didn't come in the nice box that the ornaments came in last year. It would make it easier when it needs to be stored for next year.

Now, to ✨ THE BOX ✨

The box is beautifully designed!
The concept is truly 10/10, but the execution (at least for the one I received) is more like 5/10.
The upper drawers (1 - 4) were very tight and difficult to open.
Around drawers 6 - 9, the calendar wasn't very sturdy, and the boards inside the box were about to fall out.
Between the calendar and the cover, there was glue showing. I do expect more from such an expensive calendar.

✨THE CONTENT OF THE BOX✨

Overall, I am happy with what I received in the calendar. So many fun and cute things!
Again, the effort of making this calendar really shows.
The mix of characters was super nice. I am very happy to have received many of Hello Kitty and her friends.
Quality-wise, most of the things were superb. Day 3 was a bit disappointing, as it was a pen only with "Cinnamoroll" written on it. I haven´t used the pen yet, so I might be getting ahead of myself.
I did get 5 things that did not live up to my expectations:

Day 4: Pompompurin Kerosene Keychain:
The bottom of this item is loose. Otherwise adorable. I do wish it were sturdier, especially if I am to actually use it for its purpose as a keychain.

Day 11: Mystery box with magnetic Hello Kitty keychains: The keychain I received is bent. I tried to bend it back into place, but it was impossible. Its function as a magnet is working impeccably. I was sad to receive a broken item, though.

Day 15: Flower pot blindbox: This item is truly adorable, and I love it. I got My Melody, and sadly, one of the flowers fell off as I assembled it.

Day number 19: Cinnamoroll necklace: Adorable necklace. It was not broken, but the necklace was totally tangled up. I did manage to untangle it. However, I expect more from a calendar in this price point. This specific issue may have occurred during the transport of the calendar.

Day 24: Pocket Elf Mystery box: I am absolutely in love with this item. It is so unique and adorable. The light did not work in mine. I did put in the plastic buffer again and wiggle it around a bit, and it seemed to have resolved the issue. The light is still unstable, which is very sad.

I would have loved to give the calendar a 5-star rating.
The effort put in and the beautiful design really does deserve 5 stars.
I hope there will be a Sanrio Advent calendar again next year, and that the execution will live up to the 5 stars that it deserves.
I am ordering one again next year - no doubt about that!
AND I hope that it will be shipped earlier, so it arrives in time for December.

And Kinda Kawaii, if you are reading this, I would love for next year's calendar to include more Christmas ornaments.

This is my first year ordering from…

This is my first year ordering from Kinda Kawaii (the Kawaii. Advent Calendar), and I could not be more thrilled! THIS if the advent calendar I’ve been searching for! Kawaii stationery is something I love, but most kawaii sub boxes or advent calendars are always subpar, filled with cheap items that make me feel like I got scammed. This calendar however, is filled with really great quality items (there have been a couple items that maybe weren’t as great quality as the others, but I kind of expect that - sacrifice a day or two for those really great days). I highly recommend this company!!

This is our second year ordering Advent…

This is our second year ordering Advent calendars, and this year they arrived before December. The kids were delighted with the quality. We had an issue with one item, and the owner addressed it promptly. We’re very happy with Kindakawaii and will gladly purchase again next year.

They create such beautiful advent calendar with exquisite selection of gifts for each day. I look forward to opening it every day. This company also stands behind their products. They responded promptly and offered remedies for item damaged in transit.

Advent calendar

I've gotten their Ghibli Advent calendar for two years now. And I have been overwhelmingly pleased with them. Last year was the first year they had it, and while it did arrive late the products were all amazing. This year I received the calendar in plenty of time, and one of the items I've opened so far arrived broken. I reached out to them and they were so quick to get this resolved. I look forward to seeing what they have to offer in the coming years.

The advent calendar is amazing

The advent calendar is amazing! I got it for my wife and she absolutely loves it. We have both been very impressed with the quality of items each day. We had a small issue with one of the items (not their fault, probably happened during shipping), but they stepped up immediately and offered solutions.

From the quality of the product to the responsiveness and dedication of the customer service, we have been thoroughly impressed with the entire experience.

Buy with confidence. We will be doing so again, for sure!

Heartbroken

Ordered by a friend. The calendar is BEAUTIFUL, but so far there is something wrong with almost every item, and one item was completely broken! The packaging is terrible, the quality is poor. Such a shame because it items are really stunning and thoughtful!

Okino House advent calendar

I ordered the Okino House advent calendar. It arrived to the UK in time for the start of December. So far, most of the items have been of fab quality and an excellent diverse range too. I did have an issue with one day, where two ceramic kodama figures were broken. I got in touch with Kinda Kawaii, mainly to alert them to the issue, and that it might be a common problem with others that have ordered the house too.
Olga from customer services got back to me very promptly. I was offered a partial refund or an alternate item.
(I’ll be receiving an alternative item).
I appreciated the super quick response and Olga was very communicative and provided a top notch customer service. Overall, there are some issues with the packing of items, either they need to be packed more securely, or not to include such fragile items. (I believe the box most probably got chucked around during transit too) but the quality and detail of the items and of the house really are wonderful. The house itself is definitely a keepsake and a great addition to any Ghibli fans collection. It is a pricey item, but in the end, I think it was worth it (and luckily I went halvses with my partner to purchase it!).

Sanrio advent calendar

I bought the Sanrio advent calendar last year. I remember the issues you had and even though it arrived late, I decided to put it aside for this year. I’m so glad I saved it for this year — because it has turned into something truly special.

Every morning, my daughter wakes up on her own, practically bursting with excitement, and runs downstairs just to see what the next little drawer has waiting for her. Watching her joy has become one of the sweetest parts of our days during this Christmas.

We’re only on day 7, and she’s already said this is the best advent calendar ever — and honestly, seeing her happiness, it was definitely worth it.

Thank you for what you do and keep up your good work, I will definitely be ordering another one for next year.

If I could rate zero I would

If I could rate zero I would. I never write bad reviews but this it's needed since I didn't receive any kind of support from the costumer service.
So I ordered a Ghibli Advent Calendar in July. The shipping was going to start in the beginning of November. My calendar was sent on the 18th of November from the United States and I live in Italy, so it was obvious that it wasnt going to arrive on time.
On top of that, unfortunately, there were delays with the delivery company itself, and I still haven't received the package. Now, I mean, we all know that this is a busy time for delivery companies, so sending a parcel 10 days early when it has to travel a long way seems a bit disrespectful to me.
Furthermore, I have contacted kinda kawaii by email several times and apart from telling me that they were sorry and that they would contact the courier, they have done nothing else. They never contacted the courier and never provided me with any updates or information.
I personally contacted the courier several times and, thanks to their customer service, we were able to understand the reason for the delay in delivery.
That being said, it is now December 3rd and I still haven't received the calendar.
I will never buy from them again.

A second chance

I decided to give Kinda Kawaii a second chance after the advent calendar disaster last year since the owner decided to change his suppliers and adjust his business strategies which I was happy to see after the lack of acknowledgment last year. I ordered the Sanrio Advent calendar in early September and it had an estimated shipping date of late October/early November with „plenty of time for the calendar to arrive before December 1st“ due to express shipping. The calendar however sadly wasn’t shipped out during that timeframe and I once again had to run after information from the seller about the whereabouts of my order. First he said all calendars would ship by the beginning of the week, then before Sunday, then by Monday until it was eventually shipped out two days later. I absolutely appreciate the fact that the owner tried to improve the customer’s experience by swapping suppliers but sadly he still hasn’t worked on his communication about delays and keeps making false promises. It’s December 1st now and my package got stuck in transit. It could’ve been here on time if the calendar was actually shipped out during the promised timeframe. Sad to say that I am once again disappointed.

Awesome shop!

I had ordered a calendar.
The calendar is absolutely beautiful! Huge in size and filled with very high-quality, thoughtful, and gorgeous items! No cheap plastic figures or fillers, but rather things you can actually use or decorate your home with.
The customer service is excellent as well; emails were answered quickly and solutions were found for any issues. An absolute recommendation to buy – I’d gladly order again!
