Avoid Unless Desperate

Avoid Unless Desperate — Same Problems in Every City

I worked at Key Security Group for around 3 months, and I strongly advise anyone considering this company to think twice. If you're between jobs and just need something temporary, it might serve as a stopgap — but for anything beyond that, stay well clear.

Management tried to pass off all the issues as being "just Birmingham," but once you look into it and speak to staff in other cities, it’s obvious the problems are widespread. There’s not a single branch — from Wakefield to Manchester to Leeds — where employees are happy. The same complaints come up everywhere: long hours, disorganised operations, no proper support, and a toxic culture.

The HR team are genuinely nice and try to help, but their hands are tied. The core issue lies with the company’s owner, Kieran. He comes across as pompous, arrogant, and completely unwilling to accept that there are serious, ongoing issues within the business. He refuses to acknowledge any genuine feedback from staff, which just reinforces the unhealthy culture across the board.

There isn’t a single credible positive review from any city — and that speaks volumes.

Only consider this place if you’re absolutely desperate. Otherwise, avoid it entirely.

❗️❗️❗️ AVOID!! ❗️❗️❗️

People beware when you’re trying to work and better yourself and you work 60+ hours within a week and you get paid £164.60p makes no sense at all. They lie and say you get paid for training but you don’t. Supposed to be 4on4off but they try make you work 5on2off even work weekends. When you get an alarm even though it’s the end of your shift & your about to sign out they expect you to complete the alarms which could be 30+ minute drive there 15+ minutes to do a all checks and 30+ minutes back! A careless taxi driver crashed in to me whilst in the work van no fault of mine he has taken full responsibility & one of the managers had the audacity to ask if i’m still doing the 12hour shift later on that same day!! Keep far away when you message them regarding payments they ignore you but reply within a minute when they want you to work AVOID!!!
