The service received was excellent. Although the settlement took a long time, this was due only to the delays of the house sale. Connor Cogan took over our case when Hira went on maternity leave. On... See more

Invaluable support throughout a complex process
Following the death of a family member, and faced with a very complicated estate to administer, we enlisted the services of KCT - and were incredibly grateful we did! Throughout the process, Ali Yeates and her team were patient, supportive and accommodating. While the HMRC timeline was out of their control, their guidance and professional knowledge surrounding legal and tax issues was invaluable in helping us navigate the multiple hurdles we faced. Their flat fee was very reasonable for the work undertaken. Many thanks to Ali, Katie and Liz (among others).
Excellent Service
This was my first time having to get a grant of probate and I’m so glad I went with Kings Court Trust they talked me through everything and explained in great detail.
I had my own personal Advisor Hannah Pick she was so helpful and always on hand if I had any questions that needed answering.
This matter was dealt with very quickly which could have taken longer.
Excellent communication both with…

Thank you very much for your help during this difficult period.

Outstanding support all through the process
After my Mam passed away, I was put in touch with KCT from my local Bereavement Office, and from that very first contact right through to the conclusion of what would have been a hugely daunting process, KCT were there every step of the way and put everything in plain English, no jargon, questions answered quickly and without fuss. I cannot thank or rate them high enough. A special mention to Ellie and her team, they were so helpful, professional and sympathetic when it was needed.

Highly recommend
Step by step guidance was given which was extremely helpful. The whole process was made easy by our contact, Hannah Pick, who was professional, approachable and efficient, would highly recommend.
Great service, would recommend
Great service, took away all the stress of managing probate while I had loads of other things to sort after our mother died. Reasonably priced and fast conclusion.
Thorough and professional service
Following the death of my Dad, whose estate was very complicated, I turned to KCT for help. Throughout the process WB, my estate manager, was professional, patient and knowledgeable. He took time to answer all my questions and was always available via e mail and phone. I would recommend KCT, particularly if you are dealing with a complicated estate, because they know their stuff and get the job done. Many thanks to Will Balman.

Pleasantly surprised
I was initially quite worried when I saw a probate solicitor listed as a co-executor on my mum’s will. I hadn’t heard of Kings Court and realised they were included because my mum had made her will through FreeWills.co.uk, which (I assume) partners with Kings Court. My first reaction was negative and I instantly feared the worst.
However, Joanna completely changed my impression. She was so kind and reassuring, explaining clearly that there was no obligation to use their services, and outlining the benefits if I chose to. In the end, I went with another solicitor who offered a slightly cheaper quote, as funds were very tight at the time, but had that not been the case I would have happily used Kings Court.
My experience with Joanna was so positive that I wanted to leave a review for anyone else who, like me, might feel anxious seeing Kings Court listed on a loved one’s will.

Err on the edge of caution
UPDATE :: Stuart did contact me and a timely, positive outcome has been received.
I was recommended KCT when my fathers solicitors ceased undertaking Estate management. In the initial stages, they were very supportive, contacting me almost daily. I had plenty reservations, and wanted to go elsewhere but was assured I was in safe hands. I was quoted over £10K - not a chance. My level of service was discussed with my former solicitor who knew my dad, wrote his Will etc and it was deduced I only needed the basic package I paid my fees upfront. That's when it went downhill. Communication was short coming, not answering emails, calls, repeat requests for the same information. Fast forward 6 months, I've been informed i am liable for IHT with an additional fee of £5000 plus VAT. I feel they charmed me when at my most vulnerable, never had to deal with Probate before and I trusted them. Had they done an initial assessment in the early stages and provided me with an accurate assessment of the complexities then I could have made a more informed decision. I now feel I was railroaded and in a position where I have to pay this when I could have otherwise gone elsewhere. I already made their work easy by paying our accountant to complete some of the tax forms

Probate
Upon the passing of my daughters mother in March 2024, I was recommended KCT by Mr Rory Shipton of SJP due to a long association with Angela.
Mr James Ryan was my initial contact & guided me through the probate process, until he moved on in Sept/Oct
2024
Mr Will Balman then took over the process in Oct 2024 & although communication has been by emails, he has guided me smoothly through the process up to it's conclusion this month.
May I thank WB for his patience & understanding through this challenging period.

I wanted to compliment Liz Fielding
I wanted to compliment Liz Fielding. At times I have found the whole process a bit messy and so many times unable to speak to anybody and feeling lost in the whole process I came across Liz having found the number at the bottom of an email that was sent to me and I decided I would call the number not knowing even who I was talking to and the moment I contacted Liz she was outstanding and so patient, understanding and explained everything so clearly, professionally. I would call Liz at one point regularly and every time without fail Liz would pick up and if I got no answer there was always a message for me and never a moment where I was made to feel I was a problem. Her attitude was outstanding and I kept thanking her for her understanding and kindness and nothing nothing was a problem for her. My journey with Probate and Sale of the house was made so much easier thanks to Liz.

Overall the probate process has been good
Overall the probate process has been quite long, this has been mainly around issues with the estate, due the the length of time the process has taken we had more than one Personal Estate Manager, I must say the most recent Estate Manager WB has been brilliant, reply's quickly to information requests and conducts themselves in a very professional manner, very happy with WB's progress with our application and wrapping up of the estate.

Intervened and were helpful
An initial disappointing and negative experience. I was trying to retrieve my late Dad’s Will at a very distressing time. The Will is held by Kings Court Trust.
Update 22/10/25
I am pleased to say that Phil and Paul of Kings Court have intervened and promptly retrieved the documents and sent via registered post.
Thank you.

Our family is still dealing with this company 16 months into the process of a Will distribution. We are at a complete loss as to getting KCT to distribute said estate. There are currently no legal issues, all identity checks have been made and verified by KCT. Probate was granted last December (‘24) and the bulk of the estate are the proceeds of a property sale that took place in January (‘25), i.e. resides in cash. We feel that 10 months has been ample time to deal with this estate.
In a statement on the KCT website CEO Paul Toghill has this quote to his name;
“Paul is passionate about ensuring a positive and seamless experience for families during a difficult time”.
As a family we have not received a “positive seamless experience”. What is worse is that we have experienced no compassion, reassurance or acknowledgment that this is a difficult time, or that our money is being well cared for.
Any attempt at getting concrete dates on the dispersal of funds or even a final balance of funds has been met with non-committal answers that seem intended to kick the can down the road, or worse, that our case is a burden on an already busy accounts team. I should add that this service is costing the family £12,000 and at no point have we felt KCT is actually working for us.
The experience has taken its toll on all involved from our executors right down through the family, and one family member has sought medical help with stress related health issues.
Finally we would like to say that in our experience Kings Court Trust have shown a total lack of accountability and worse a basic lack of kindness. A lack of kindness for the memory of the deceased and her surviving family. This is the most upsetting side of this whole process.
This is not a situation we would wish on any other family experiencing the loss of a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

Always on hand.
I appointed Kings Court Trust to look after my mum's estate. Eventhough there has been no face to face contact my personal estate manager is always on hand if I need him on the telephone. Very professional.

Estate support and GOP.
We instructed KCT to help us with some technical aspects on my mother’s estate and thereafter to prepare the application for Grant of Probate, which has just been received. Hannah Pick was our brilliant manager who guided us through the whole process and was assisted with technical support from Sam who was also excellent. The whole experience was professional and courteous at an obviously difficult time. Very happy to recommend KCT for any aspect of estate administration and Trust support. Thank you again, Andrew and Sue.

Impossible to contact
Impossible to contact. Letter sent in March 2025 to Bath address has just been returned (October 2025) by Post Office marked "Gone away". No response from telephone, either using number given on storage card (0845 126 0891) or from WhatsApp (0300 303 9000). Just as well my new Will is with another storage company!!!
