Not worth it

The shoes press on the little toe and the big toe. The insole presses on the sole of the foot. There was no return receipt and I had to print it myself. The return is also not free and that's not good customer service. With these prices their shoes must be perfect. Karhu needs to go back to the quality of the 90s if they want to survive in today's markets.

Falling apart and terrible service

2 pairs of my trainers that are not even a year old are falling apart, the fabric at the top near the ankles is splitting away and breaching! I have barely worn them but no help from customer service.

1 pair of my husbands is also falling apart, the stitching came apart and Karhu wouldn’t do anything about it!

Horrendous customer service, no help at all! It’s almost like they don’t care about anything but selling the trainers and making quick money. I wouldn’t recommend purchasing from this company at all, not even from an independent retailer who sells Karhu!

Sort yourselves out Karhu! Your products aren’t cheap but they are falling apart, you blame your customers for faulty trainers as though we are the ones damaging them, making them fall apart. Sure I would love to waste my £120 and ruin my own trainers? It’s not our fault, start helping us!

DO NOT BUY FROM KARHU

Karhu lost my order (purchased on March 3rd 2024) and will not refund me (currently 25th April 2024). Its customer service takes a week + to reply and they just use the excuse of the internal department not getting back to them.

TRUST THE REVIEWS - DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM.

The shoes look fantastic and are…

The shoes look fantastic and are comfortable however they feel apart after 6 months.

On the toe there is only single stitching and has come apart on both the trainers creating a hole.

Also, at the top near the ankles they have become worn out and the fabric breached.

Customer service couldn't help and the same for the retailer we bought from.

For £120 would expect better.

Such a shame as wanted to buy from a smaller brand compared to Nike etc.

My Kahru running shoes began to break…

My Kahru running shoes began to break apart 5 months after purchase. Was purchased at a running store and their policy was not to return after 30 days so I contacted Kahru directly since the shoe was breaking down. Kahru basically said too bad and since I didn’t purchase directly for them they couldn’t help. The corporate office of Kahru couldn’t help…
My wife’s identical model bought on the same day began breaking down in the same location so Kahru asked for pictures. I submitted pics and they still said they couldn’t help. Why ask me to submit pics of you can’t help. These people are terrible to deal with and they finally offered me a 25% coupon. For junk, no thanks. Terrible company, even worse customer service.

Scam

Have extra money to waste, buy a pair of Karhu shoes!!!
I bought a pair of it from a retailer (654 Stockholm) in Sweden with a promising recommendation of the shopkeeper.
Used them casually in urban areas for less than a year and they’re torn so bad that I can only throw them away.
Contacting the customer service of Karhu was just a disappointment.
Never again the same mistake!!

Comfy poor quality last 6 months

Comfy trainer but became unwearable sfter 6 months, Karhu are expensive and designed for athletes, I expected good quality.
I’ve had better quality for knock off brands. I asked Karhu to repair them and they are unable to, offering a small discount to repurchase. Expensive trainers that will inevitably last 6-8 months of moderate wear.

Horrible

Horrible. I purchased a pair of shoes from retailer Fleet Feet. The sole separated (split in two) within four months. Initially, Karhu replaced the shoes, which was great customer service. The replacement pair split at TWO months. I WALk in these shoes. No running. No intense activity. The company refused to acknowledge the defect in the manufacturing and offered 25% off a new pair. Absolutely pathetic. I was told the supervisor cannot be reached even by the customer service reps. What? Worst customer service EVER. No stars.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. The laces snapped on my shoes after wearing them a handful of times. They have to send me new laces or even let me buy new laces. Very slow to reply to any message and now have asked me to send the shoes back at my own cost to determine if they are faulty. Terrible customer service - I would not recommend buying from them directly.

Want me to pay after sending the wrong item

Wish I'd checked here first! Saw some trainers and decided to pay full price from the official website as out of stock on lots of discount sites. They've sent the wrong size shoes (11vs 10 I ordered) and are now saying I have to pay to return them. Requests to send the correct item have been dismissed - communication has been quick but they're not budging. So I'll have to get a refund from my credit card co as they're refusing to send the items I ordered. Frustrating as they're lovely shoes!

Service poor and never received goods

Sadly I didn’t read these reviews before placing an order with karhu (uk) ps there isn’t a Karhu uk as they come via mainland Europe. Ordered trainers almost 4 weeks ago and never received them. Having to chase both Karhu and FedEx and now requesting a refund. Shame as trainers looked good but will now never know. Customer service friendly but not very good - never respond or give timescales for any resolve.

AVOID

I placed an order over a month ago now on the Karhu Canada site. Having read a few of these experiences, I am now fairly certain that this was a fake site or scam.
I have obviously not received anything!
The order was placed online and forwarded to PayPal where I paid a 'Mr James Bogaki'. I assumed he was a distributor?! Still no idea who he is as nobody has replied to my emails!
I have been provided a tracking number, via the pay pal updated shipping page and it looks like the order has originated from Paris and currently in NY. I live in Canada! I am doubtful that i'll receive this order and even if it does magically turn up, I'm guessing there will be damage.
Multiple emails to both the main Karhu website and Mr Bogaki have resulted in zero replies and a lot of wasted time. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
I am hoping that the one saving grace is that they made me pay via pay pal - I have already submitted a refund request.
AVOID this company or at least buy from a store. However, I won't be supporting any business that clearly treats customers so badly.

The most negative customer experience I've ever had

If you are considering making a purchase from the official Karhu website, you might want to think twice. In the event of any issue, no matter how small, don't expect their customer support to even reply to your emails.

Although Karhu produces high-quality products, its poor sales approach could potentially lead to its downfall. I have been buying their sneakers for years through local stores in my city. I felt really connected to their brand. But now, I am quitting.

Last 2 orders

Last 2 orders, first one after 3 weeks of waiting was advised item is not instock and they would refund money ( why let me order trainers that are arnt in stock? ) After 1 month was issued refund.

Second order recently has been 3 weeks since ordered trainers,firstly Karhu said the courier has had some issues,then was advised courier is sending item back? Now been advised they will refund when they receive trainers back which can take up to 30 days for refund?

So that means I could wait in total 2 months for a refund due to problem with courier?

Overall have spend 3 months ordering / sending emails,and the emails I get back are not even acknowledging my frustration?

I will now make official complaint,great trainers poor customer service 🙃

Terrible customer service and webstore…

Terrible customer service and webstore experience.
I ordered two pairs of shoes from the official karhu.com site. I waited 2 weeks and sent an inquiry about my order. They replied that the order has been returned to the sender due to a "technical fault". They promised to send the money back, because the shoes could no longer be sent for some reason (apparently the right sizes were no longer in stock). I waited for my money and I got the money back for the other shoes after about a week of waiting. I still haven't received my 95 euros back for the other pair of shoes and more than a month has passed. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the national consumer protection agent.

Awful experience

Awful experience. Tried to purchase the same pair of shoes twice, only to chase shipping for over a week. When customer service responded they blamed a system issue, and then that the shoes were out of stock despite still showing as being in stock over 10 days later. No apology - was told to “try purchasing (a third time) to see if they were now back in stock”.

Don‘t order there terrible customer service

Don‘t order there terrible customer service, not able to send an order confirmation, find an order in the system, even not able to receive an e-Mail. Oh no Madame, you know what? There are a lot of fake Karhu websites, this is not our problem if you order there. The management of Karhu should hear that, this is the best way to lose new customers, cause fake websites are a problem for Karhu sales turnover. Good bye!
