€450 Travel Delay Cover Sounds Great… Until You Actually Need It......
Be very careful before buying this insurance. The headline benefits look attractive, but the actual cover is far more restrictive than you might expect.
My flight was cancelled and our trip was delayed by almost 21 hours. Nothing was paid. JustCover requires a delay of more than 24 hours, and even then only a limited list of causes is covered. Other travel insurers offer delay cover starting after 12 hours, so this is something worth comparing before you buy.
I also lost prepaid accommodation and had additional transport costs because we had to fly to a different airport the following day. Those costs were declined too because they resulted from the same event that JustCover considered not covered.
So my advice is simple: do not be impressed by the big headline figures. Read the full policy wording before paying. Check how long your delay has to be and, even more importantly, exactly what has to cause it before the insurance will actually pay.
The cover looks very reassuring when it is being advertised. My experience when I actually needed to use it was very different.
I have challenged the decision and my complaint is now under independent review. I will update this review with the final outcome.

I spoke to Sandy who looked after our Policy.
She was very professional and went through everything with me - we are in our mid 60s so it was important for us to have travel insurance.
Perhaps more expensive than I had expected but it was peace of mind that we were covered and lots of emails & texts to reassure us we were in good hands !!
