Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 61 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the service, describing it as unsatisfactory, often receiving generic answers that were freely available online. Customers frequently reported being charged significantly more than the initial advertised price for a single question, with unexpected charges appearing on their cards. These unexpected charges often led to frustration, as people felt there was a lack of clarity about the true cost. A significant number of people also felt that they were unknowingly enrolled in monthly subscriptions, despite agreeing only to a one-time fee. Reviewers found it difficult to cancel these subscriptions and obtain refunds for the unexpected payments, even when the service provided no value. Some customers mentioned that their banks intervened to block problematic transactions, highlighting the severity of the billing issues.

Deceptive Ad/Not “Just” $5 for Answer!

Ad said just a $5 fee to get answer to my legal question. Today I saw I was charged an additional $46. When I complained, I got an explanation that I had “joined” their membership. Huh? I consider this a bait and switch tactic by this company. Beware!!! Won’t refund the $46–justification only for their scam.

Absolute scam!!!!!!

Absolute scam!!!!!!
I'm so angry as I looked at the trustpilot reviews on their site which suggest thousands of five star reviews. Paid £16 for a vets call that didn't happen and when I wrote to complain I received the same messages that I'd received for my initial query. Clearly robots. Don't use!!!!!!!!!!

This company is a total scam

This company is a total scam. It asks you to pay £5 to have a conversation with a solicitor about your particular question. Then you think : ok that’s not bad, if I get my question answered.
So I did that, and I got an answer that looked like it was from someone who wasn’t even a real solicitor and the reply didn’t make much sense. Then a pop-up box appeared saying that it would be much easier to speak on the phone, for a payment of £44. I managed to find a way to get rid of that pop-up box, and replied that I don’t have the money and I would just like an answer to the question that I’d just paid for. Th reply I got was very scanty and not at all useful. Then I thought, as I have paid the £5 by PayPal, and I think an Angel must’ve been watching over me because I got a hunch to just check my PayPal automatic payments.Thank God I did - because they had sneaked in and set up a monthly billing cycle without my knowledge of £50 per month!! I mean, why would I need to be paying them £50 a month when I was only asking one very basic question. SO PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM. IT IS A TOTALLY DISHONEST COMPANY THAT IS NOT UPFRONT ABOUT any further costs! They sneak in under the radar and start billing you £50 every month - and that’s on top of whatever you paid on the day you contacted them, when you’ll have already paid them to answer your questions. Shocking! I am sure that the other positive reviews on here MUST BE FAKE! - or else the reviewers only found out later on, after they left their reviews, that monthly amounts would’ve been taken from their accounts. This company called ‘Just Ask’ also are behind ‘Just ask a doctor’ as well. So watch out! What they’re doing is completely illegal and dishonest. It’s just shocking.

Beware of Just Ask

Agreed to pay €1 to stay a session, then was charged €18 for a call back which a) didn't realise was the charge and b) didn't happen. Then was charged €35 because the€1 charge apparently signed me up for a subscription, by which time my bank called me to ask if I knew anything about these charges. In the end I had to cancel my debit card and wait for a new PIN and card during the Xmas break. Very inconvenient. My personal opinion of Just Ask is that it's a scam. Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. I would give 0 or minus if that was an option.

First stated the cost was $1 then…

First stated the cost was $1 then showed me a bill for $40, the charged me $55! When I asked to see the page where it stated $55 and was shown a page with $45!! The response to the information I requested was pure nonsense, I do not believe in anyway that it was an attorney, she knew NOTHING and wanted me to pay her an additional $59! This site is a major SCAM!!! Do not ever use them, they just want to scam you out of your money!

I had a question for a lawyer and was happy to pay for the service of the very brief email exchange I had which was £5 - apparently unbeknown to me I was taking out a monthly membership which I had to cancel within three days - cannot see any notification that the three days was up and they say I turned off email notification which I never did - so am now being charged a £50 fee every month - I have cancelled this but want the payment they have taken out refunded - feel this was totally underhand in the way it was done- will never use again

A problem with Virtual Box

I had a problem with Virtual Box. The tech from Just Answer was unable to provide any solution, even though the call was 1 1/2 hours long. The vast majority of time spent in waiting for the tech to respond. A very poor experience

I had an issue with just ask on the… customer services are finally sorted it out

I had an issue with just ask on the 15th of March when I have paid my £5 subscription. Apparently this is a subscription for three days so I was informed today question the parking ticket and I was told would you like a call so I said yes to get a call you go onto the premier services which is £43.68 a month Tried to take this money out of my account which the bank stopped issues since then email from James Bruce solicitor you answer my question if I wasn’t happy to connect to customer services I’ve just spoken to them today they have refunded my £5 subscription back into my account. They told me because I’d asked for a telephone call that is why they charge £43.68 and tried to take it out of my account , I told him I was not aware that I’d pay £43.68. Any stage I just automatically took it from my account or tried to take it from my account today refunded my £5 subscription using his company. I recommend look up the terms and condition £5 is a subscription for three days and then you go onto a premier account which is monthly and if you don’t cancel it they take it out every month if you’re not aware of this
This could be very costly check the terms and conditions you are subscribing to on a free trial because a free trial does not last long and that’s when it cost you money. With my own experience I will not be using this company ever again.
