Poor service. I had to buy something for someone who doesn't use the internet. I asked them to send a particular colour but ended getting the wrong one. They should have contacted me to say they don't have colours I needed. Fair enough, things like that happen in life but that itself isn't always a reason for a bad review as I suppose it can be returned. But felt violated as they put my name on the parcel instead of what I put meaning the lady opened a parcel in my name (containing her items). I take privacy very seriously and don't like the delivery name being changed without my consent and then having a parcel "with my name" being opened. On a positive note, the price was good. But I think I was let down overall hence a rating of 1 star.

Very poor customer service yesterday.I made a detour to go to the store and buy a Mason Pearson brush as I like to support actual stores where possible. The young woman who approached me and gave information on their stock and prices was pleasant and professional enough. She directed me to the till, where the man operating it just walked off as I arrived, without acknowledging me. I went to another and my purchase was briskly processed by the young man there. There was a selection of sachets of various nutritional supplements on the counter ( no prices) so I asked if they were free samples.”No, you have to pay” was his brusque answer. Silly me for trying to engage with staff, and for thinking that they might give something out for free.
I don’t know what proportion of JB&C’s business is retail ( as opposed to prescriptions) but I’m guessing it’s high. In an age where we can pretty much get everything delivered, they need to support their staff to give a better customer experience. I left the store feeling deflated.

Everything is great as long as you don't have an issue or need to return something. I've been shopping at John Bell & Croyden for years and have spent enormous amounts of money over that time. I don't believe I've ever need to return something. This past week, I stopped in and bought several makeup items at the recommendation of one of the people working there. He recommended a color of eyebrow pencil that was completely wrong for me, but I couldn't tell until leaving the store and looking more closely in better lighting. I was in the store later to buy something else and mentioned it to another employee who asked if I had tried it. I told her I hadn't because I want to return it and she said that I should try it to be sure it wasn't right and she assured me (I asked more than once) that it would still be returnable. I followed her recommendation and still felt it was the completely wrong color for me. When I tried to return it the next day, I was (rather rudely) told by the manager, Agami, that I could not return it. When I told him that I was specifically told by Dee, a representative who worked at the store, he told me they are "brand ambassadors" and not employees. I said how would I know this as a customer and that I had explicitly asked about my ability to return and was apparently given the wrong information. JBC should take accountability for brand ambassadors working in and representing their store. I have taken the time to review this (which I usually do not do) because it was an unacceptable customer experience. After spending thousands of pounds at JBC, they would not accept the return of one item that was incorrectly recommended to me and completely useless to me. That is no way to run a business. I would have expected better and will now give my business to someone else. JCB, you lost a lucrative and loyal customer. Terrible customer experience and business sense.

Your pillows are just the answer for painful arthritic necks and Vestibular Migraines. We just love them so much so my daughter has asked me to send her some to Australia. 👏
