I knew of this shop due to being a Lindisfarne fan, but hadn’t ordered from them before until Rough Trade messed up my order for the new Beatles box (with the red and blue albums in it). JG had two left online so I cancelled my RT order and placed one with JG. I purchased it at 2pm Friday and less than 20 hours later it arrived with me in Leicester. Amazing service and great price too!

With all little guitar shops and independents depleting, it's a pleasure that such an institution of the Newcastle music store scene is still open and serving such a high level of quality. I've been in today to buy another guitar and my experience couldn't have been better, The guitars that are on display have been checked and adjusted before being put out, and the service I received from George was outstanding. Had a great chat and made the decision easy for me to take away my new guitar. Ive worked in this industry for many years and that is how it's done, and restored my faith in stores, where so many others fall behind. everything 5 stars.

Ordered some music online. I wanted a specific choral piece but other websites would only let me place orders of minimum 10. It arrived extremely quickly and in great condition. Thank you very much

Went in today to see about getting my guitar fixed, I was looked after by George, he advised me on what parts to get and said he could fix my Floyd Rose bridge. Absolutely exceptional guy and will go out of his way to help you. Definitely 5 stars for me. George, you're amazing.
Terrible company, avoid like the plague
Music score sent to me had a load of missing pages. No response until I threatened a credit card chargeback. Then a promise to send the missing pages, but not followed up, then they ignored my emails. So I raised the chargeback, they called promising an immediate refund but even then I had to chase you again

Bought a guitar here and through no fault of the company I had to return it within a couple of days. Matt in Guitars couldn't have been more helpful, nor could he when helping me to choose the guitar.
Even though I bought the guitar on the web I returned it to the store and the refund was organised there and then! Fantastic customer service.
I know where I'll be heading first when I want to buy my next guitar.
Bargain price
As with all my reviews, I try to be fair and honest about my experience and I'm not paid to do so.
I have been looking for a Les Paul style guitar for years, unfortunately I can't stretch the budget to even by a second hand Gibson.
I narrowed it down to the Epiphone Les Paul classic, Gretsch g5220 and the Michael Kelly Patriot decree. All about ,£400.
I was surprised to find JG Windows offering the Michael Kelly Patriot decree for only £299. Which is about £99-130 cheaper than the competition.
I contacted them by email as it was the Christmas holidays.
I was informed the guitar was checked before shipping and given some additional advice.
The guitar arrived, double boxed, and I am very pleased
Overall to sum up

Price, communication, service and it's a small local retailer.(I firmly believe in supporting small retailers).

Fast, efficient replacement for a defective record. Friendly customer service that went the extra mile to have a replacement sent out very promptly. Will definitely use them again.
I (thought I'd) bought a Squier P-Bass…
I (thought I'd) bought a Squier P-Bass online only to receive a phone call a couple of days later from JG Windows telling me that the bass was unavailable as the neck was damaged. I asked what the damage was and was told that "errr, I don't work on that department but it's something to do with the levelling...". I advised that I can level the frets myself and that it's not an issue but was told that the bass had already been "sent back to Fender". Now it was obvious that the bass was never in stock and rather than tell the truth by saying "whoops we're sorry, we forgot to remove it from the website" I was lied to. Maybe they thought because I was buying a Squier I wouldn't know what fret levelling is! Who knows?! The refund came through and I went to GAK in Brighton (where I should've gone to originally!) and purchased the same model bass without an issue.
P.S. it looks like a review further down the page had a similar experience with a bass being out of stock - hmmm, strange. The bass then disappeared from the website very quickly.

The product turned out to be defective so it was not sent to me but clear explanations were given, a lot of time over the phone was used to help me find an alternative.
They selflessly offered a lot of adivce that helped me chose a replacement which I ended up buying elsewhere because of circumstancial reasons. They refunded me quickly and with no troubles.
I'd certainly try them first next time I need an instrument and I'd call them to get advice on it.

Brilliant customer service, lovely folks, incredibly quick delivery (best I’ve had for a guitar over many years living in what is classed as a remote part of the country) and the item is top drawer. Can’t recommend these guys highly enough and I’ll definitely shop here in the future.

I’ve been treated like a child by this company and by the person in charge of customer service requests. Very rude and not helping at all. I don’t appreciate being spoken to like a child so don’t do it in future. I wouldn’t buy anything from this company again at all. Avoid!!

I ordered a pair of Wharfdale Linton speakers about a week ago. They arrived quickly. This shop gives good old fashioned service and was extremely helpful, when I called with a question. I received a better price than the big chains. The speakers sound great from ACDC to Chopin. I can't fault this business. Thank you.
