Horrible airline. Delays and
I took a bad decision to book a flight with jetsmart a flight from punta arenas to Santiago… 6h delay due to mechanical issue on the plane , then again deviation to conception , missed connection, poor service , no indemnity. lost one full day and a lot of money. Will never book again with them.
This is the worst airline I ever used
This is the worst airline I ever used, avoid at all cost. In the last three weeks I had two problems with them on two different flights. Firstly, they charged me USD$65 for a checked baggage on a short distance flight in spite of their website saying "from USD$13.50". I bought it online, not at the airport. The second problem I had with them was, that they left me at Bariloche airport saying that my ticket has been cancelled in spite of me having my boarding card on my phone! I paid for a checked baggage too and it's all gone. I had to buy another ticked for a late flight and I lost my hotel reservation I had for that night in Buenos Aires. I spoke with them for 30mins on the phone and they were not listening at all. I will never ever use this airline in the future. The worst experience ever.
Extra Baggage Fraud at Jetsmart
I purchased (3) small items in Lima’s airport and Jetsmart made me to pay extra $36. This happened to several passengers who like me had US and/or other foreign passports while the locals with each having several bags got in for free. Jetsmart, you are an international fraud who discriminate against foreigners.
DON'T BOOK WITH JETSMART!! SCAM, DELIBERATE & CONSTANT OVERBOOKING!!
I would never book with JetSmart again en wish I had read the comments before we booked. We had booked a flight one day before departure (it was a really expensive flight, and we now know that the flight was already overbooked when we made te reservation - by phone). So the nice lady on the phone asked a lot of money, which we paid, knowing we wouldn't be able to fly!!
When we arrived at the airport, they just told us the flight was overbooked en there were no alternatives for the upcoming days (indeed, dayS). We had a connective flight the day after, so eventually we had to book another flight of 1200$ to get to Santiago. Luckily the staff of LATAM was so nice to help us, share their wifi, searched for solutions ...
We immediately made a complaint but we didn't got any response ... (we sent them a couple of reminders) We tried calling, emailing, instagram ... Eventually we received a reaction on instagram. JetSmart would not give any compensation: so our tickets from JetSmart were not paid back (even though we were not allow on the plane) and there would be zero compensation for the tickets we had to book to get to Santiago ourselves ...
So thanks to the deliberate choices of JetSmart, we lost almost 2000$ for a flight that usually costs around 100$.
Since JetSmart doesn't respond, we are still trying to get our money back true legal procedures and consumer protection institutes (SERNAC in Chile). They told us JetSmart always overbooks their flights with 10 till 15 percent (at our flight there was a least 15 people that couldn't fly)
We understand that an overbooking can happen, but we do think it is different if you do it deliberately, constantly and then refuse to pay the tickets back when people can't fly (which is obligated by the Chilean law). That makes a big difference ...
The staff was also really arrogant and said we just had to sleep in the entrance hall en then called 'next' to the passengers who were waiting in the line ... (unseen)
Just to inform you: Calama Airport is the most dangerous one in Chile, en we had to sleep in the entrance hall were everybody could enter (even a girls who was traveling alone)
Good flight experience
My experience with this airline was a good one. It is a budget airline so you expect to pay for additional things even your boarding pass if you don't download online which I was not able to do due to website not accepting my cards. The guy let me of this charge when I explained this.
The flight left on time and actually arrived early in Buenos Aires. I have no complaints
FRAUDS
FRAUDS! Let all the passengers behind us on the plane, but not us. They said it's because they sold 60 seats to many. 60!! We were supposed to fly from Lima to Cusco and only hade tree days in Cusco, hotell booked and everything, and now they've put us on a flight in two days so we only get one day in Cusco but payed for tree. Won't give us our money back or any compensation. Asked to speak to the boss, and when we asked why they let other people on the plane but not us, she just turned around and walked away.
Do not fly with them! The worst (non)flight experience of my life and they deserve to go bankrupt.
Always delayed by multiple hours!
I have only used this airline twice to two different destinations and both times my flight was delayed 3 hours when no other airlines were delayed at all. Too unreliable to use. Whomever started this airline clearly had no idea what he, she, or they were doing.
Horrible delays
I had a flight from Santiago, Chile to Lima, Peru in the evening. When I was ready to get to the airport i got an email saying the flight has been delayed by three hours. They did give an option for refund, rebooking (without charge) and gift card. It was 'fait accompli' and the whole experience was a nightmare. A little internet checking revealed that this was the norm and not an exception. I don't recommend anyone taking this airline unless you are fine with massive delays on a regular basis.
The worst airline I ever flew with
The worst airline I ever flew with. 3 hours delayed, unfriendly, very badly organised check in and boarding. Never ever again.
Not Worth It
My experience with Jetsmart was completely dysfunctional and I highly discourage recreating it. I know those flight prices look tempting but I HIGHLY suggest reconsidering. It is not worth the risk. My recent experience started with a departure time change three days before our scheduled time. An option was provided then to receive a refund, credit, or reschedule. I opted for the latter where my request was assigned a CASE NUMBER. The new time didn't work for me so, instead of providing an instant fix, they assigned a case and kept me on the flight that I couldn't make. They then proceeded to send a boarding pass for the old time. I had no idea if the changed time was correct or the old one and, most importantly, if I was going to be moved to my new flight. I went to the airport for the old time since I was unsure and, loe and behold, it's the updated time I knew I couldn't make. There is no staff there to help with the problem and all the phone support staff shirking responsibility. I requested a refund since I had to buy another ticket from another airline at the desk that night. Jetsmart has the audacity now to ask for explicit BANK DETAILS (in lieu of directly refunding to the credit card used) to issue a refund. The red flags are so numerous, I could create a gold course at this point. I won't be providing these details and I highly recommend you don't provide them anything either.
Give me my money
With the Covid I cannot go in Chile
Give me another gift card and refuse to send me my money.

Avoid this company
Try to avoid this company.
If you can't don't pay any extra, because you won't get it, the website just doesn't work. We paid for seats but they only registered one way. Also paid for changing the flight once but it was absolutely impossible to do it on their website. No contact info that works from Europe. I really recommend paying $50 more and using a real airline.
They have lost my paid baggage
They have lost my paid baggage - were unable to deliver it for 6 day - still they think that no compensation for being without contact lenses, basic cloths, shoes, prescriptions, nothing.
I am not surprised to see only 1 star…
I am not surprised to see only 1 star reviews. This company is basically a scam. I am trying to change the date of my flight since a month... I opened 3 cases and noone reached me back, so from the 1st attempt in which the ticket was just 10 USD more now it reached 60 USD more. I feel like these funny guys are simply scamming people. The 1st and last experience with this scammers.
