These guys are consistently cheaper. Cars are good, often new. No quibble and fast pick up and drop off. Used themnin Italy, Spain, Portugal. All same. Good guys.

Very happy With this rental! We booked via Uber and having missed the fact that the person retning must have a credit card they fixed the problem for us!

"WARNING FOR IRISH TRAVELLERS using AVANT MANEY / AVANTCARD: Italy Car Rent refused my physical Avantcard credit card at the counter, falsely claiming it is an 'online digital neobank' account. Avant Money is owned by Bankinter SA—a massive traditional high-street Spanish retail bank—but Italy Car Rent's desk system wrongly flags it. They refused to release the vehicle unless I paid the full-price zero-excess insurance at the desk. Absolute scam. Do not rent from them if you rely on an Avantcard."

UPDATE 17/07/26: Thanks for acknowledging the issue. Please advise on the timeline and process for processing my refund for the unnecessary insurance policy your staff forced me to buy.

Palermo Airport: Do not trust them, liars, cheats, thieves & professional tourist rip offs. Especially avoid the tall orange hair man at the desk - he tried everything to take as many credit cards from us because this company has a reputation for stealing money from tourist credit cards up to 2yrs after the rental expires! They drip small amounts out of credit cards hoping it isn’t noticed (€100 here, €200 there) & if you follow up they ignore you & avoid you. ABSOLUTE THIEVES.

I wanted to use a credit card that was very strict on scammers like this company, the bank has strong regulatory rules so they couldn’t get away with stealing money from it. They knew this so they LIED & told me it’s a debit card, not a credit card. I’ve had this credit card for 35yrs, it’s definitely NOT a debit card but of course they couldn’t steal from it so they lied to get out of completing the car hire. This orange hair man at the desk lied so much, I’m sure he’s never told the truth in his life!!!!

The process was smooth and the customer service great, easy pick up in Catania airport and drop off in Palermo airport, friendly staff.
No pressure from them, read the contract ask questions, drive safe with caution in your mind as you should do with any rented car.

Easy to pickup the car at airport. Return was also very fast. Staffs are great and want to help you. Good ratio quality /price €€. In case of doubt with damaged car, take photos and show it on return car

As with many other reviewers, I was very happy with the car itself. When returned it the woman came out and inspected it and spotted 3 small scratches on one spoke of one wheel and deducted €500 from my deposit! She said I should have taken extensive photographs and a video of my own before driving the vehicle away in the first place. Indeed I should have as I’m 99% sure that would have been there at the start of the hire but not amongst their 20 or so photos of existing damage. I would even suggest that it’s just possible they could make €500 on every hire if they don’t add the photo of this minute damage to their photos of that vehicle.
LESSON: IGNORE THE PHOTOS THEY GIVE YOU AND TAKE YOUR OWN PHOTOS AND VIDEO PARTICULARLY OF WHEELS!

Car condition very good and very clean

We rented the car via rental cars and added full insurance. When we picked up the car in Milan Malpensa airport the person at italycarrent still insisted that we needed to pay an extra insurance fee of EUR 400 because the insurance we had added via rental cars supposedly was invalid in Italy and hence wouldn’t cover any potential damage on the car. The person att italycarrental didn’t even bother to listen or look att the booking from Rental cars.

My first very good experience with this Company, everything was good since arrival , good staff and car - not new ( 40k) but in good condition and with completion of my experience with Company. I am sure tt next visit in Italy I will rent car of this Co , thks for everything

I returned the car with small superficial scuffs to one alloy wheel. There was one scuff maybe 1cm by 0.5cm and two monre tiny ones about 10cm from the first. They charged me EURO500. There was nothing I could do as EURO900 was reserved on my credit card. I would have accepted EURO100 being the maximum anyone could possibly chrage for the repairs.

It was a total scam. I would suggest in the strongest possible terms not to use this company.

Rented a car in Milan Malpensa from 21st of May till 27th. Long wait at desk about 1 hour to get the keys.
The car given to us was full of damages, I had to ask to fix with some speed tape the rear bumper that was completely loose. Found several damages not reported a d asked to add them, the very unkindly staff asked to take picture and video instead.
Upon return the very rude agent went straight to a front bumper damage as new that we reported at car collection but as said they refused to add. I got charged 250€ although I got the video showing damage pre-existing but they claim it was not so visible. Very stressful also because they gave to me just an email to share the video, but it was to big for the email sent so I had to arrange a We Transfer.
I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Completely not honest, SCAM, avoid at any cost.
Please Italy Car Rent refrain to answer this review with standard answer I saw on Trust pilot saying that you will use it to improve, this is a tactic to steal money to customers!!!!!!!

Have used many car rental companies across Europe but Italy Car Rental is one of the best. Excellent price, very easy to deal with, excellent cars, often brand new, rapid pick up and drop off service and would certainly recommend to friends and family.

I would NOT recommend this Company at all. I travelled to Lake Como at the end of May 2026 with my 79 year old mother, who has mobility impairments. Our flight was delayed, so by the time we got to the desk to pick up our pre-booked and pre-paid car with 'Italy Car Rent' through EnjoyTravel.com we were told they had given our car to someone else, and if we still wanted to hire a car, then we would have to pay again for another car (this was even more money than we had originally paid). This smacks of a 'Scam' to me, and just a way of getting more money out of people. In fact we saw many Customers arguing with the Car Hire Companies in Italy. We had to endure a very frustrating, uncomfortable and upsetting journey with 2 trains to get to our destination. If there are policies in place about giving pre-booked pre-paid cars away to other Customers due to flight delays then this should be clearly and boldly stated at the booking stage, rather than in the numerous clauses in the small print. There was no sympathy at all from the man on the desk that I was travelling with my elderly mother, he was unhelpful and not interested in the least. This ruined the holiday for my mother and I will definitely not use 'Italy Car Rent' again!!

Awesome car hire experience on our trip to Tuscany. The collection was very quick and straightforward, as was the drop-off at the end of our trip.
A very good car was supplied, very clean and exactly what we needed.
A big thank you to all of the friendly staff.

No hassle, not too much waiting at the office, and no problems.

The company charged me for a damage I did not do. 250 Euros.
