Cristina and the team at Italy Trails planned a 33 day trip for myself and my husband through France and Italy. They adapted to our interests and needs and found a range of different accomodation and experiences. They were available when needed to answer questions but we had very few because the guidance and instructions provided was excellent

I am so glad I found Italy Trails!! I can say my girls graduation trip to Italy was a success!
Everything was perfect, from the centraly located apartments ,to all the booked tours and trains. It was a bonus having a cell phone with all our itinarary, trains, GPS, taxi app... Cristina, Franco and the rest of Italy trails team did a fantastic job!
Franco even became a friend along the way, he constantly checked in, helped wherever needed and gave us some great advise and recommendations, making our trip go from great to excellent, thanks for the laughs😄
I will definatly use them again if I come back to Italy, keep me posted if you expand to the rest of Europe.

This was our first trip to Italy. We are very glad to have chosen Italy Trails to plan our trip with us. Italy Trails listened to what our expectations were, what we wanted to see and experience. The plan they presented to us met all our criteria. The process used to obtain our travel tickets, check in to our hotels and experience our excursions was easy to use and flawless. Thank you very much to Cristina and the Italy Trails team for making our first trip to Italy a memorable one. Already looking forward to returning.

It was a pleasure dealing with Cristina and the team in Italy, Franco, Adriano to name those I had contact with.
All the arrangement from the service apartments to car rental, flights and guides at the various places we visited were all well organised and punctual.
We enjoyed our trip immensely but would like the team to warn new travellers that at some apartments
kettle and soap and toilet paper were not the norm and had to be provided by the renters.
It was a minor distraction and not a problem as supermarkets were nearby and water was boiled in a pot on the stove.
But it would be good to be forwarned.
Many thanks till we meet in Rome again.

We were thrilled with the services that Italy Trails provided for us during our recent trip through Italy in October 2023

Cristina and her team were amazing to deal with. We worked together to build an itinerary. Working with our budget, they took care of arranging private car service, train tickets, ferry tickets, hotel stays (at truly unique and beautiful little hotels) car rental and they organized tours too.

Literally every detail was perfectly executed. They were very responsive when we had questions.

We will never travel to Italy again without them. They made it so easy.

This was our first trip to Italy (first trip to Europe as well.) While researching places/sites to visit and becoming quite overwhelmed, my husband found a link for Italy Trials and forwarded it to me. I reached out and Cristina promptly responded. She was very responsive in making changes as requested to meet our budget. We visited Rome, Naples, Sorrento and Bari. Everything was planned out and organized so well: all the transportation (private cars, train tickets, car rentals), the activities, the hotels, the list of places to visit on our own. I know we could not have planned such a great trip on our own! I would highly recommend Italy Trails. Only thing we would have changed would have been the use of Google Maps for the navigation. Maybe because we were not used to the Sygic app used, but we had a difficult time navigating with it and ended up punching everything into our Google Maps.

Cristina and Franco and the entire Italy Trails team planned an incredible 3-week journey through Southern Italy, Sicily and Rome for our group of 4. The logistical planning of hotels, tours and tour guides, transportation (including van rental for 9 days traveling around Sicily) and domestic flights between mainland Italy and Sicily definitely exceeded our expectations. Whenever there were issues for which we needed assistance, they promptly responded to our reaching out to them on the Italy Tails provided mobile phone, an invaluable resource to have when you are traveling to another city every couple of days. A truly memorable experience.

Italy Trails was a gift from above! As I was planning a 4-week vacation in Italy with my 80+ year old mom and 18 year old son, I knew the varying interests would require a bit of creativity and planning (although my time in which to do so was very limited due to my busy work schedule). I also knew that I did not want to be on a group tour -- the three of us have traveled together quite a bit over the years and we like to go with the flow and at our own pace. Italy Trails offered suggestions for itineraries and let us choose which ones were the best. Then, they provided an itinerary proposal that met our wishes... they provided a couple of draft proposals at first, but then perfected it with our input. The itinerary was mapped out beautifully and at the tip of my fingers in a phone they provided me with on arrival. They also offered spot on restaurant suggestions for each of the cities we visited. They took care of all of the inside Italy travel details, like our airfare for flights inside the country, car rental, train tickets, private cars... they met us at all airport connections, and arranged for drivers at each connection. All of the hotels were fabulous and centrally located (obviously insider knowledge) and within the budget we specified upfront. And the outings, which ranged from private guided tours to small group tours, were top notch! The team at Italy trails, led by Cristina, was incredibly professional and patient. I was able to contact them at any point needed, which was actually quite rare because the itinerary was so dialed. At one point we veered for a couple of days from the itinerary and Cristina jumped right in to provide us with alternative hotel recommendations. I could go on and on about how positive our experience was with them, but I'll just leave it at this: If you are looking for a self-guided tour, hire them. You will be very happy that you did.

We were scheduled to travel with a group for a week in Italy and wanted to extend our trip. However, we had a lot going on which reduced our ability to plan a smart trip through northern Italy. We didn’t want to travel with a group, but wanted local, expert planning on where to go. We contracted with All Trails and they were very efficient and prompt in communication prior to and during our trip.

The overall trip that was planned met our style and preferences pretty well. I can’t say perfectly, but I put that more on us. We were so busy before the trip, I didn’t pay as close attention to some of the details that were sent. While not all was exactly as we might have picked, it was all very very good. And again, most importantly, they were very helpful and communicated quickly on any questions that came up.

The phone app that we followed for our itinerary was EXCELLENT! All the directions and all the places were right there and super easy to use. It’s a super smooth process to use the phone for your itinerary.

If traveling to Italy for the first time and unsure of exactly where to go, I’d for sure recommend All Trails as they can help put that together for you. That said, make sure to do your own research and verification of the final itinerary prior to signing or make sure to review close to your trip, so it’s fresh.

With Cristina's excellent planning expertise and with Franco's travel guidance, we were able to plan a wonderful trip of independence due to their self tours and also by adding some scheduled tours to round out our entire trip. Even with some delays and cancelations caused by the catastrophic floods in May, Franco was able to quickly resolve any issues. The cell phone with GPS, loaded with the detailed itinerary to include accommodations, transportation and tours, made the trip very organized and easy to follow. We have just finished an amazing trip to Italy, with assistance from "Italy Trails"! From transportation to accommodation, tours and suggested sights and restaurants, we never felt like we would have any trouble navigating our way, as this company was with us every step of the way. From our initial consultation with Cristina, travel guidance from Franco, and all the great drivers and tour guides, it was all top notch!

We started planning our trip to Italy in December. We were visiting friends and relatives in the south. We planned three days in Rome after our southern visit. Knowing nothing about how to make the most of that time we found the website for Italy Trails. We looked at several other similar companies. Italy Trails stood out among the others. It turned out to be the best decision for our time in Rome. As we built our itinerary Christina was very patient and worked on what we desired for our time. From the very first contact to the day we left Rome, Christina and her team were right there. They kept in contact with us everyday. And when one very small problem occurred, it was rectified immediately. The tour guide Silvia (ask for her by name if you book a guided tour) was fabulous. Her warmth and knowledgeable was evident with every step we took with her. Italy trails was willing to help with our trip south. I would encourage you to contact this company to see what they can do to make your trip one that will provide you with many great memories of your time. They absolutely did that for us. It was a great three days. They can take care of your trip, short or long in all of Italy. If we return to Italy in the future, they will be our first call to plan out time.

Italy Trails organized our 30 days itinerary self guided journey in mid September to mid October 2022. The manager also helped me to claim a wrongful charge for the fuel by the rental car company. Six weeks later I did get my refund.

At the beginning we were quite worried about if Italy Trails was a legitimate company because we are from the USA and there’s no information about this company on the social media. I couldn’t find any reviews on it. I was hesitated to pay the required deposit and they emailed me their business registration and license information. What a relief 😅

We loved the hotels they booked for us and the itinerary was great. It would be perfect if the first car rental at Milan airport could be rented at Bari airport instead of returning the car at Genoa so that it would save us a lot of time and hassles.

Overall Italy Trails service is very good. I was able to communicate with them by the smart phone they provided throughout the entire trip. 4 of us had a wonderful time, an unforgettable trip in Italy.

Our 46 day travel adventure came with much planning and a handful of adjustments which worked out beautifully. The planning process with Team Italy was communicated with details only a travel agency could provide. As you know Italy Trails sets up all accommodations, we preferred Boutique Hotels, transportation, which included 28 days of car rentals, plus trains, private drivers, boats and planned tours. For example, we wanted to bike ride, hike, truffle hunt, take cooking classes, boat rides and eat and drink delicious regional food and wine. They filled other parts of our day with important sites to see, which included guides and tours preplanned and paid. The complexity of this can be a little daunting for a two non speaking Italians who haven't been to Italy before this trip, especially driving. Perhaps one of the keys of our trip was their phone loaded with our travel itinerary for each day and GPS for directions. The phone also gave us access to them for questions and correspondence, which was very helpful. Kinda like they are traveling with you, just not in person. Another wonderful aspect of the phone is they could track us to see if we are where we're supposed to be. Here's an idea of the travel complexity that they took care of for us: On our last day we had a planned flight from Rome to Athens mid morning, but we're in Positano. We needed to leave Positano by private driver, which was part of the package, catch a train from Naples to Rome and catch the city train at the train terminal to Rome airport. Each one of these connections was met with their careful planning.
Most of all we developed wonderful friendships with Christina and Franco who traveled with us via phone and video chats our whole trip. Special shout out to Adriano who got us Soccer Tickets in Rome. thank you to Jvonne, Camilla and Joanie for prep work.

Our family trip to Italy Venice down to Positano Aug 2022 was planned out perfectly and very professional. The itinerary was very detailed regarding each step of the trip including hotels, transfers, private car service, train schedules, events, dinner recommendations and prepaid tickets. The Italy Trails team Cristina Merlino, Jvonne Consoli and our new good friend Franco Talamonti who kept in touch with us through out our entire trip via a courtesy mobile phone device with GPS, was amazing. Franco became part of our family trip, making sure we were on time and assisted where we needed guidance. We already recommended Italy Trails to friends and relatives. Hope they take advantage of it. Thanks to Cristina and her team, we had a wonderful time. We had visited Italy many times before, but saw much more this time with Italy Trails. All of our accommodations were first-rate and we were well served. Navigation assistance was most helpful, too. We're glad we traveled with Italy Trails and we'll do so again.
