I am working to setup an SDIRA at IRA financial. The process has generally been smooth. I have been working with Jack Bickett, who has helped to walk me through the process and solve anything confusing that I might need help with. I would recommend them as a custodian because their customer support/service is kind, helpful, and fast and they don't play games. I want to shout out Kimberly Powerll and Winston, who helped me out with some of my problems.

I'm a bit blown away by my experience with Advanta IRA so far. I switched over this month from a competitor custodian I had been with for 8 years (consistently disappointed). IRA Financial has friendly, knowledgeable, and fastidious account managers who go the extra mile to make sure every i is dotted and t is crossed. They will alert you immediately if something is missing or needs corrected, rather than sitting on the issue and getting to it at their leisure. My last sdIRA custodian was asleep at the wheel and they cost me investment opportunities. It's refreshing to be with a company that seems to care as much about my investments as I do.

Becky, did an excellent job of assisting me by answering numerous questions I had for. She was very patient and met all of my needs during my contact with her. She was the model of a great customer service representative.

Becky is super helpful. I was confused by a tax payment situation. Becky got ahold of their tax person and then sent me a link to the IRS Direct Pay website which made the painful process of paying taxes very easy!

I opened up my self directed IRA and all the individuals at IRA Financial have been very patient with me. I have erred several times with documents and they have remained professional and have answered my questions in a timely fashion. I'm so looking forward to having this account and being able to direct my own investments. My financial advisor tried to freak me out about withdrawing funds from my account, but all has gone as expected.

I begin to wonder if the company is a scam. Customer service is near non-existent. Try for yourself -- call the 800 number and pick anything other than "new account." The phone will ring forever, no answer, no voicemail, nothing. The online chat is similar, sometimes I get an answer 10 minutes later. They give various excuses as to why the account isn't funded yet; the last one was "maybe your financial institution mailed the rollover check to the wrong address because we did move a few years ago." Seriously? I provided my bank with the forms IRA Financial provided, which clearly list the address.

This company is a joke. Look elsewhere and save yourself the frustration.

I just got off the phone with Becky Scifo - she was great. Why? Not only was she patient with me, she had the knowledge and capacity to handle my issue. So many times I hesitate to call any customer service number - but sometimes I have no other choice - after my conversation with Becky - I would not only grab the phone to call again instead of wasting time trying to figure something out- I'm going to tell people to use IRA Financial if they want real people with real customer service skills. Thank you!
