The IGS representative lied about price

The representative who signed me up lied about the price I was paying my current carrier, and about the price IGS would cost for the next year. When I investigated and found the truth online, I cancelled the IGS plan.

Deceptive sales tactics

An IGS rep came to our door under the pretense of making sure that we were getting a 10% discount that was due to us because of the Illinois Shines program. (He did have a city permit badge, which is required for doing door-to-door solicitations.) He made it seem like he was just there to canvas the area for this. Then, he asked to see my bill. I let him see it after crossing out all instances of my account number. He didn't need it. He just wanted the Electric Choice ID. After repeatedly being promised that I was not changing my electricity supplier, he started signing me up to use IGS as a supplier.
