Awesome product, perfect sound.

First of all, I have to say that the support truly deserves more than 5 stars, and I've never had such constructive communication with the staff.
I've never experienced such super-friendly and dedicated employees.
The Howler is truly high-quality and feels truly premium. Its size and weight are also great. The fact that it's battery-powered makes everything much easier and is brilliant. Unfortunately, that's about all the advantages therefore only 2 stars for him.
The Howler is almost unable to use MicroSD cards from well-known manufacturers (Kingston/Samsung/Sandisk), and it also has problems with larger cards. If you wanted to record an entire evening in WAV, for example, this is not possible. The included card allows a maximum of 3.5 hours of playback time (WAV). After that, a new file is generated. Formatting is also only possible in Fat32, which explains the limited recording time.
The information the Howler provides (on the device) is unfortunately too sparse. More LEDs or similar would be beneficial here. You simply don't know for sure whether it's actually recording or whether it even recognizes the MicroSD card. You really have to look closely at which "light codes" it is sending out.
It's rather cumbersome for use in a club or festival, and quite tedious for spontaneous/quick recordings. Recognizing the Howler on the iPhone/iPad was also rather difficult and took a really long time. Perhaps I had faulty items.
You also absolutely need the original accessories; a connection failed with a "conventional" USB-C cable (in my case). The accessories also seem very high-quality and are really not expensive.

Be sure to also check the return details. It's highly recommended to read everything carefully on the website to avoid any nasty surprises. It's like that everywhere.

My conclusion: A very high-quality device that requires a lot of attention to create a recording and transfer it to another device. In terms of price/performance, there are definitely much cheaper and simpler solutions available.

Als erstes muss ich hier schreiben, dass der Support wirklich mehr als 5 Sterne verdient und ich noch nie so konstruktiv mit den Mitarbeitern kommuniziert habe.
So Super freundlich und bemühte Mitarbeite habe ich noch nie erlebt. 

Der Howler ist qualitativ wirklich super gemacht und fühlt sich mehr als hochwertig an. 
Auch seine Größe und Gewicht sind super. 
Das er mit Akku läuft, macht alles auch deutlich einfacher und ist genial.

Das waren dann leider auch schon alle Vorteile und darum für ihn nur 2 Sterne.

Der Howler kann nahezu keine MicroSDKarten von namenhaften Herstellen (Kingston/Samsung/Sandisk) verwenden und mit größeren Karten hat er auch Probleme. 
Falls man damit z.B. einen Ganzen Abend in WAV aufnehmen möchte, ist dies in einer Datei nicht möglich.
Die mitgelieferte Karte lässt maximal 3,5h Spielzeit (WAV) pro Datei zu. Dann wird eine neue Datei generiert. 
Auch das Formatieren ist nur in Fat32 möglich, was dann die begrenzte Aufnahmezeit erklärt. Egal wie groß die Speicherkarte ist.

Die Infos die der Howler (am Gerät) liefert, sind leider zu dürftig.
Hier wären mehr LED`s oder ähnliches heilreich.
Man weiß einfach nicht genau ob er wirklich aufnimmt oder ob er die MicroSDKarte überhaupt erkennt.

Es muss wirklich genau geschaut werden, welche „Lichtcodes“ er grade sendet. 
Für einen Einsatz im Club/Festival eher hinderlich und für spontane/schnelle Aufnahmen recht mühsam. 
Auch das erkennen vom Howler am IPhone/IPad war eher schwierig und dauert wirklich lange. Vielleicht hatte ich auch fehlerhafte Artikel.
Man braucht auch unbedingt das originale Zubehör, den mit einem „herkömmlichen“ USB-C Kabel ist (in meinem Fall) eine Verbindung fehlgeschlagen. Das Zubehör wirkt auch sehr Hochwertig und ist wirklich nicht so teuer. 

Unbedingt auch die Details für die Rücksendung beachten. Es empfiehlt sich wirklich alles genau auf der Homepage durchzulesen, dann gibts keine bösen Überraschungen.


Mein Fazit: 
Ein qualitativ sehr hochwertiges Gerät das sehr sehr viel „Zuwendung“ braucht um eine Aufnahme zustande zu bringen und auf ein anderes Gerät zu übertragen.
Was Preis/Leistung angeht, gibt es auf jeden Fall deutlich günstigere und einfacherer Lösungen.

Kept me updated with shipping information and the Howler is very easy to use, so excited to record and share my DJ mixes, very happy with this product!

Howler is an absolute game changer. Solely focused on the DJ's, they made a product that is small, robust and of high quality to record your sets in the absolute best sound quality! You cannot ask for better.

This product is without a doubt the BEST solve to recording reliably, in 320kbps from the DJM mixers. Quick setup, reliable levels, easy to monitor the battery, and a fantastic form factor.

Other solutions (and I've tried many) are either unreliable, commandeer your phone, occupy a valuable send / return slot, or are just too cumbersome to use.

The Howler lives in my gig bag (and I have another plugged into my home setup). I plug it in and use it for every set because it's just that easy.

And the service is fantastic. For my second order, a package next to my shipment was damaged and cleaning solution ruined the product. While it was hung up in customer service with Fed Ex, Howler sent a replacement so I could bring it with me on my travels.

This product does one thing and it does it perfectly.

Top solution for streaming and recording dj set. The killer feature is the compatibility with the camera app (and streaming apps) of the iPhone.

The howler recorder feels like a Very well made piece of equipment! It is super easy to use and the recordings I've made up to now sound amazing. Battery seems to last forever: I easily recorded a six hour set with friends, and I am soo happy I did!

Now down to the nitty gritty, the howler unit. It’s literally plug and play simple. It’s small that it can be hidden. I’ve mounted mine in line with my controller EQ lights. The box is simple and easy to navigate, the ability to record in Wav or MP3 is perfect and as for transfer ability that too is simple. The light on the unit help you keep your sound quality under control too (helps avoid clipping).

I was looking for something that was a work around for when I stream music and want to record as I can’t record any mixes I do that are from my selection of streamed music. This unit has done that and the sound quality is perfect once you get your setting under control, very small but very effective device.

If I could I would buy one for each of my friends it’s money well spent. The customer service makes buying again a no brainer.

Only thing I would like to see is a version 2 with the ability to record and stream at the same time. Maybe make the shell of the devices have different camos for different setups.

Ease of use, recording time and quality, battery life and size make this hands down the best portable recorder on the market. I haven’t used it for streaming so can’t comment on that but everything else is great.
