Complete disappointment


Complete disappointment. Don’t trust this company!! Signed up in October to rent our house while travelling. Initially from mid Jan - mid March. Despite spending lots of time and money getting everything set up on our end - it took them until February to actually get the property up online - losing us months of potential bookings. In that whole time - they managed to get us one booking (worth £350 but we pocketed only £20!!). Not surprising as the listings completely undersold the property and felt robotic and cold.

It was a huge stress (despite their promise to ‘remove headaches’) and felt like we were having to hold their hand the entire time. Mistake after mistake - we just lost all trust in them. Cost us thousands in lost bookings and our house has been empty for most of our travels (which added so much stress - we aren’t professional landlords, we are a young couple. I’ve had to take on lots more work while travelling just to pay for this which has really impacted our trip).

Wish we could turn back time because this was an utter fail. Houst is clearly set up to channel money AWAY from the property owner. Please use our terrible experience and AVOID.

Five Stars

The entire process from booking to check in/out was seamless.
The flat is immaculate and the neighborhood is among my favorite for easy transport and a calm atmosphere. Lots of great food options and a stones throw from great sights. We will be back again in June

Fantastic location

Fantastic location, peaceful and secluded, yet right in the heart of Melbourne. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Highly recommended!

Financial disaster

My time with Houst was a financial disaster. On average I made around a third of what they 'estimated'. They will now probably blame it on my property, but I did rent out the exact same property by myself and made 3x as much. They also heavily overcharge on cleaning fees and maintenance/repairs.

Great apartment

Great apartment management company. Our holiday apartment was clearly well maintained: it was perfectly clean, the linens felt luxurious, and the decor was stylish.
