The flat has two faces :
On one side, the location and the neighborhood are great (15min walk from the city center, calm and beautiful neighborhood). The landlord is reactive and honest. It is also cheap compared to other accomodations in Florence.
On the other side, the apartment is extremly dirty and in poor condition (which is of course the responsability of the other roomates, but also the landlord who doesn't care much).
To sum up, I would say that the value for money is ok, and I still recommand it if you have a short budget or you don't have any other option.

I've been using the platform as a landlord for quite some time. I would say it's not worth it. The platform takes a comission from the first month's rent which is proportional to the tenant's stay. But in case of a last minute cancellation you get the payout minus the comission of the platform. Which depending on the duration of the reservation could be your whole payout. I recently had this happen to me and it was quite frustrating. The longer the reservation (more trouble in case of cancellation) equals less to no money received. It makes no sense and feels kind of scammy.

Please review the landlord credibility while including. The landlord has not returned my deposit of 400 Euros back. She told that she will returning the deposit in a week- 5 times, next week-3 times, blocked my whatsapp numbers- 4 times. Irresponsive for my messages. Till date I have not received my deposit back. So, I have initiated a police complaint against her

Overall the platform works quite well and is decently managed. I’m giving a star less because some things are very unclear and the platform has weird ways of handling some things. I had a renter who wanted to rent my place a second time, but the platform didn’t allow him to make a new application for my place. If Housinganywhere could sort things like that out in the future, it would make the experience as a landlord so much better.

My experience with this app has been extremely negative. Landlords are practically absent, and all the properties I found (without exception) were in very poor condition, often almost uninhabitable.
My first accommodation was a complete nightmare: a terrifying room, unacceptable hygiene conditions, and apartments that had more rooms than advertised on the website, meaning far more people than expected. There was a constant mix of short-term Airbnb guests changing every day and long-stay tenants from HousingAnywhere, creating chaos and a complete lack of stability. The landlord was never available or present to address any of the issues.
I then moved to a new accommodation, which was slightly better, but absolutely not worth the very high price I am paying.
On top of that, tenants are required to pay end-of-stay cleaning fees, even though I found the apartment in a terrible condition at check-in. This makes no sense.
To make things worse, the app itself works poorly, frequently freezes, and is unreliable, making it difficult to manage bookings and communicate properly.
Overall, a disappointing and frustrating experience: lack of transparency, very poor housing quality, complete lack of landlord support, and a technically unreliable app. I would not recommend this app.

All the information was very clear, communication was easy and quick. The location was accurate, and the photos and videos were exactly as advertised; the only thing missing was mentioning that some areas of the building are still being finished.

Everything from booking, moving in and paying went like it should be - perfect!

We will never rent through HousingAnywhere again.
The customer service team is polite, but the handling of our rental start and the December invoice has been unnecessarily confusing. We received written confirmation that the rent for December would be “half month,” yet we were later charged a full month — referring vaguely to a “payment overview.” This contradiction led to wasted time, multiple emails, and being passed around before getting any substantive explanation.
We proceeded with payment under protest to avoid further issues, but the matter remains unresolved.
I expect a swift correction and much better internal coordination. HousingAnywhere: solve this issue instead of assigning a new person to send the same empty replies every time.
The rental is in Bordeaux.

I found the platform easy to navigate. Being able to send messages to the landlord and read relevant reviews are significant advantages. However, I think that there is room for improvement: there needs to be more information required from the homeowners (e.g. floor, lift access) and at least a pre-recorded video inspection.

Easy to find a place according to our needs (budget, area, rooms, etc), easy to contact the landlord to answer our questions.

I got the exact search result what I was looking for in an accommodation and then I contacted the respective landlords. They were helpful and I reserved my room.

They charged me over 500 Euros too much and refuse to refund me. On top of that, they stopped responding to my mails. 0/10
Edit: Your stupid reply makes no sense because you charged me for another booking that was automatically cancelled!! Are you really that stupid or do you just pretend to be so you don't have to refund the money?

The reservation process through HousingAnywhere was very easy and straightforward. The platform is clear, well-organized, and made the whole booking experience quick and stress-free.

It was extremely easy for us to find and contact landlords in regards to their properties. The application process was fairly easy as well. Just upload documents, apply, and wait for acceptance or rejection. We were very happy when we got a place!

Despite some initial issues with the credit card process on the platform, everything worked out well and I was able to move into the room without any problems.
The landlord is very attentive and supportive, provides clear and detailed information, and is always quick to respond to messages. Communication has been smooth from the beginning, which made the whole experience much easier and reassuring.
Overall, a very positive experience!

I’ve had a very bad experience with HousingAnywhere. I paid around €700, including tenant protection, but neither the landlord nor support is responding to my refund requests.
The contract they provided wasn’t valid because of unreasonable deposit terms, and the landlord refused to adjust anything even though I needed it for my embassy application. I trusted HousingAnywhere as a student, but now I’m stuck searching for another place while my money is gone.
Support keeps telling me to “talk to the landlord,” which makes the tenant protection useless. The landlord is now offering the room to someone else, but I still don’t get my money back.
Support and the landlord are both completely ignoring me now. I even shared proof of the emails I received from the landlord, but support still said they “cannot do anything.” On top of that, without any legal and valid contract, the landlord threatened me and demanded €600 as a cancellation fee. This is unbelievable treatment, and I have been left with no protection at all after paying through HousingAnywhere.
This situation has caused a lot of stress, and I cannot recommend HousingAnywhere at all. I just want my refund.
After seeing the response from HousingAnywhere, I genuinely feel like I stand nowhere. Your support system has completely abandoned me, and I would never recommend this platform to anyone. If there is no real support, then what is the purpose of having a “support team” at all?
From day one, the support team has been biased toward the landlord. All I kept hearing was “we cannot do anything” and “please wait.” I was forced to contact the landlord myself every single time. Even now, after several days, support is not replying to me at all.
If I could give negative stars, I would. Please avoid this website.
According to your reply, it seems like I have no rights and no options. If HousingAnywhere cared about customers, someone would have reached out to me by now. I never checked in and I never stayed there. If the contract isn’t valid or useful to me, and I still have to pay €700 for another accommodation, then what is the purpose of this platform?
I paid for tenant protection, yet the landlord is now threatening me and demanding another €600. I even shared an email where the landlord admitted they would rent the room to someone else—so they get to keep my first month’s rent for free and then rent it again to another tenant. How is that protection?
They have time until February 2026 to find someone else, but I don’t have that luxury. I am heartbroken that I trusted this platform. I feel like my complaint and this review mean nothing—there was no proper investigation, no support, and now I’m being told to speak to a support team that won’t even answer me.
In the end, I get zero value, zero support, and I lose my money.
As a student, €700 may be nothing to you—but for me, it is everything. I saved every penny to study abroad, and instead I am being ripped off and left helpless.
I even tried to post here on Trust Pilot but they keep referring to support which is not even replying now.

Landlords are not trustworthy, Support is useless.
This is what happens when you allow companies go tax free heaven, so they believe that they can get away with everything they do
3 landlords with major problems in a row are not a joke
