Dealing with these people was a breeze compared to the last company. My situation was around having insurance as an executor. The person I spoke to on the phone was great from start to finish. They made it an easy process and showed compassion and understanding for the situation I was it. Everything was explained in terms I understood and they answered any questions I had. Would highly recommend.

The wording of the previous year's policy was crystal clear but this changed in the renewal. Buyer beware, of course.

It appears that, this year, very little is insured outside the home unless EVERY SINGLE ITEM that you might habitually take outside of the house is separately listed on your policy document. This is absurd.

With a voluntary excess of £100 it means that every single piece of jewellery you might have, your phone, watch etc (can you see how long this list could go on for?) that is over £100 needs to be listed. I have insured my property and contents since I came to London in 1986. I have evidently wasted many £10000s. The one time in 40 years that I make a claim for a piece of my wife's jewellery that was lost (value c.£500) it is refused because it was not specified.

The figure of up to £1500 appears in the policy document in several places. Do not be fooled. This company will do everything they can NOT to assist you.

To Homeprotect, please don't attach your pro forma "how sorry you are message". It doesn't wash.

Renewal quotation available in good time thereby enabling me to check details and compare pricing with other providers. Once renewal was confirmed, confirmation was received immediately and documentation received. Further confirmation received on renewal date.

I get a response very quickly and not had any issues with taking out my buildings insurance policy to receiving all the information online promptly. Cancelling recently due to having sold the house was very quick and efficient (Shivam) was very politely and professional. Very happy.

The Insurance policy was only activated today, so it is impossible to rate Home Protect. Why do companies insist on demanding feedback when you have not had the opportunity to assess their service. I always mark-down which do this
