Yet another excellent mixture of plants from Hillside Exotic gardening. Miscanthus and persicaria both excellent quality plants, well packed, prompt delivery. Hillside kept me informed from ordering to dispatch to delivery. I can’t recommend them enough. Well priced and great service.

Very helpful, great exotics
Came across Hillside Exotic after looking for a pacific exotic plant.
Within three weeks have placed a few orders now, communication is spot on, postage pricing is very reasonable, plants are packaged very good no damage at all.
This is now one of my favourite exotic plant company, i was looking for a pacific plant , Nicky, who I think is the owner, emailed and was very helpful. Placed two orders over different days , refunded one of the postage money as two plants were posted together. Not many companies would do that. Honest reliable and good pricing.

Pink China Colocasia
Pink China Colocasia. Great personal service. Once I placed my order Hillside emailed me asking if I wanted the the plant sending as a tiny plant or did I want to wait until the plant was bigger. I didn’t check my email quickly enough to respond before dispatch. The plant arrived within a couple of days and is now growing on my kitchen windowsill. It’s tiny but perfectly formed

Excellent service
Excellent service. Plants arrived very well protected. Nicky kept up communication to arrange postage to minimise stress to the plants by not posting before a weekend and even considering a frost in the forecast.

Plants reasonable, packaging poor
Delivery was prompt and plants a reasonable size but packaging was dreadful. Soil had poured out of pots leaving the plants almost bare rooted. There was also some leaf damage due to the pot movement. It was a mess. However, with prompt repotting and some tlc my plants soon perked up. Hillside did offer to claim on my behalf from the delivery company but I declined as I did not think the delivery company were the problem.

We are sorry that you felt the need to leave us a 3-star review, when we had tried to resolve this from our end as best as we could. We asked you to take pictures of both the plants and box, so we could place a claim with the courier.
We are plant lovers and have received poorly packaged plants in the past ourselves, therefore we take a lot of time and care in how we package our plants, to ensure they reach customers in the same condition that we would wish to receive them, but occasionally plants are mishandled/damaged in transit.
It is very upsetting to receive an order in the state in which you describe, but unfortunately this is out of our control once they leave us.
We feel it is extremely important to raise a claim with a courier service, not just so we can recover the cost of replacements or refunds, but so courier companies are made aware that packages are being mishandled. If this is not reported then it will continue and ultimately it reflects poorly on our company despite our best efforts to avoid this happening.
