We just wanted to share how pleased we are with the outstanding service provided by Chloe Dent. Throughout the entire process of purchasing our new house, Chloe demonstrated exceptional professionalism, expertise, and dedication. Her attention to detail and prompt communication made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. We highly recommend Chloe for anyone seeking top-notch legal assistance in property transactions. Thanks again for all your hard work!

Hek Jones pay a hefty referral fee of £778.80, if referred via Optimus/Yopa. This cost will be passed onto you, the customer, which explains why they are so expensive. Hek Jones knowingly send out starter packs containing out-of-date pricing information, because they are too lazy to update their own paperwork. Their subsequent lack of professionalism forced me to terminate service within weeks of starting. There were too many red flags:
Too expensive:
I estimated the total to be closer to £1800 - £2000, rather than the £1,401.60 initially quoted. Hek Jones operate so many additional charges, including a joint sale fee of £200, it's far from competitive.
In contrast, Warner Goodman solicitors quoted me £1,309.20 for the same joint sale, with virtually no additional charges.
Unresponsive communication:
Every e-mail took 2-4 days to answer, making communication tedious.
Unprofessional:
They wanted me to sign their terms of business, despite it not reflecting their current pricing policy. When I refused, they unbelievably offered to delete all the pricing information from their terms of business, rather than correct it.
No accountability:
They tried to delegate responsibility to Optimus, to provide me with correct pricing information, relating to their terms of business.
That a trivial pricing error can be met with such belligerence, proved enlightening. I suspect they were too busy with other referrals to provide good service. Given the price they expected to charge, I expected better.
Thank you for reading.
Absolutely shocking just no urgency at all.
emails go unanswered for weeks at a time despite chasing them and multiple calls that never get answered.
Asked to resend information as they cant locate it despite it being attached to the same email thread.
been almost 3 weeks now since receiving answers to all enquires. Still not heard a peep
at this rate my mortgage in principle will expire before they bother getting in touch.
UPDATE: Icing on the Cake they ask for more information on a bad review within 24h
Still cant answer messages, emails or call me though,
The choice to go with Hek Jones was mainly because they are paired with estate agents and mortgage broker we went with and personally, it was not too bad of an experience! These solicitors are pretty helpful with what they do, they provide loads of information and have it all organised so you can receive it in one, which as first buyers it can be pretty nice as you can go through it as you'd like. I will say, the fees speak for themselves as this was a speedy, easygoing process for us and most communication was the necessary kind. One downside, maybe it is expected of these services, is that you are expected to reply quickly but it is not always reciprocated as sometimes replies took days to come back and calls did not always go through. Overall, a good experience for us, thank you!
I write this review still in disbelief regarding my experience of Hek Jones Solicitors, especially with being enthused with optimism at the beginning.
I always aim to have a balanced perspective of events and usually just ignore negative experiences/transactions, however, owing to the sheer incompetence and inept communication from Hek Jones, I've been left with no choice but to leave this Google review to help inform the decision making of prospective customers.
In short, my appointed conveyancer Abigail Yeo proved to be so poor at communication, useless at multitasking and dismissive of repeated requests from the vendor & their solicitor, that my property purchase fell through, as an exasperated and disappointed seller was left with no choice but to relist on the market and they've since agreed to proceed with another buyer.
This has left me out of pocket to the tune of several thousand pounds (broker fee, mortgage fees, surveyor fee, etc) and the estate agent has made clear that no responses from my conveyancer sadly led to this occurring, which was a recurring theme for several months.
Adding insult to injury, I've since filed a formal complaint with their Director Heidi Morse - who deals with their internal complaints and even after provided an assurance that my case will be examined and a verdict reached within 8 weeks, almost 10 weeks later, I'm yet to receive a response. I did have to previously chase Heidi to confirm receipt of my complaint, which probably was a sign of things to come?
I may now be left with no choice but refer my case to the Legal Ombudsman, or consider what my legal options are going forward.
It is perplexing that they enjoy a high customer rating on Trustpilot - in stark contrast to those on Google?
Let my case be a cautionary tale of selecting the wrong conveyancer for your property transaction. Judging from their low Google review rating, I'm afraid mine doesn't appear to be an isolated incident!
Chloe dent my conveyance solicitor has been my rock through at times some stressful situations.
Her professional manner and more importantly her caring nature has kept my head above water on many occasions.
She is an amazing asset to the company and a lovely person.
Chloe. D was an absolute superhero. Without her advice, suggestions, support, professionalism, and listening ear, I would not have been able to purchase my dream home. I have also been able to do so with the funds necessary to fix issues with the house.
Chloe was kind and caring, while hearing my concerns and finding ways to solve them quickly and efficiently.
Thank you so much Chloe! I won't forget and will be forever grateful.
Aimen and Zubair were amazing throughout the process. The communication and explanation were excellent, which helped me immensely as this was my first investment property transaction. Thank you!
Use a local conveyancer.
By the time you realise these aren't worth their weight in lead, you'll be too far downstream to pull out.
We used this company (Helene specifically) and the level of communication was poor compared to friends' experiences. Exacerbated by the fact they submitted one of my documents incorrectly, causing us to move in late. If it wasn't for me speaking directly to the other party, we'd have been delayed even further. Shambles.
On the day of our move in, we were constantly calling and emailing them, with no communication until into the afternoon when the real estate agent called saying the banks were shutting soon. Just lazy.
I'd happily pay extra to not work with these, which is funny considering the amount they charged us by the end is higher than average anyway.

Helpful, friendly and very supportive staff. Really helped to make the moving house process much less stressful
Our solicitor Rowan was fantastic. Her and the whole team made the buying process so much easier. Answered any questions straight away and was really on top of the details. 5/5
We used Rowan from Hek Jones as our solicitor to purchase our flat. She was great and we could not fault her. She was informative and kept us updated throughout the whole process. Thank you for making our first purchase so smooth!
Natalie handled our purchase and was very communicative and thorough. Ensured we knew what to expect and gave time scales where appropriate. Worked well with the rest of chain solicitors even when things kept shifting. Ended up exchanging and completing on the same day and she helped that not feel overwhelming!
We recently purchased a property in England with help of HEK Jones Solicitor.Abigail was very helpful and patiently answered all our queries. I highly recommend their service if one is looking for conveyancing solicitor.
Exceptional conveyancing service!
Jason and the team were extremely efficient, communicative, and made the entire process so smooth and easy to understand. I highly recommend their expertise, I can't thank them enough.
Helene was our case manager and we had a good experience with clear communications. Will refer them and use them in the future
I would 100% recommend this solicitors. They were fantastic in dealing with the purchase of our home. Everything was dealt with swiftly. From putting our offer in to completion it only took 3 months, which we thought it would be at least 6. They were fantastic! We are very happy with the service we have received. They were lovely and so efficient! We couldn’t be happier. Brilliant service. Absolutely marvellous!
We has Chloe Dent for our flat sale. First time we had used an online service. Quite a bit of work to scan items and send but apart from that at the outset its has been a very good service and Chloe was particularly responsive in dealing with matters and when we asked questions. Our sale got a little complicated and safe was great. All at a fraction of the quotes we had locally. Would use again and would recommend.
Incredible service! I had to swap solicitors last moment for my property purchase, and Zubair and his team were able to step in, pick up from where my prior solicitor left off, and get us to completion in the time frame we agreed to. I have nothing but good things to say, and that you are in good hands with Zubair and Hek Jones.
Very easy and smooth sale of house, thanks to Hek Jones. Good comms.
