Staff were amazing
Staff were amazing. Very friendly place. We did the skydive and Charlie was fabulous making everyone feel at ease. The experience was great but expensive. Would definitely recommend but do go off peak.
Not the experience we were hoping for :(
Unfortunately we didn’t have the experience we were hoping for. We were really looking forward to the experience as we all usually love anything ‘thrill seeking’. The initial ‘booking in’ staff were friendly and professional; however after this point our experience went downhill !
On arrival to zip wire tower we were given the equipment and then advised to walk up to the top of the zip wire tower to meet the members of staff who would be ‘facilitating’ the experience. At the top of the tower we were met by 2 members of staff. My partner and I decided to go first out of our group and we were hooked on etc by staff members into the horizontal flight position. There was then a delay of approximately 15 minutes. We later found out from this was due to a ? Puk change / repair/ a fairly common issue / something that needs to be done regularly and would have normally taken only a few minutes, however if was newer member of staff doing the change/ repair.
Unfortunately during this delay the staff members that were present did not explain this despite us being suspended in an extremely uncomfortable position for a long time. I raised 2-3 times that I was very uncomfortable in the position I was in due to pressure on my collarbones/ shoulder / lower back but was initially told that this would be relieved once we were released / in flight. Finally after staff were eventually told there would be a further delay they offered to relieve us and stand us up again.
During the delay the 2 staff members ( 1 female/ 1 male) were talking and ‘bantering’ between themselves ( making very inappropriate ‘jokes’ and very much informing us of their lack of knowledge and experience). In most circumstances we would let this go ‘over our heads’ but given the delay and anxiety that this led to we wanted to highlight this also. A few comments that stuck in our mind was that they said they had only worked there for 2 days ( very inexperienced considering they were responsible for making sure we were safe). Whilst my partner and I were uncomfortably suspended they also laughed and joked that “atleast it was a good view” and that they have “never known anyone to have scraped a dead body off the floor yet”. We would normally make light of this but the whole delay/ clear of experience and knowledge did make us extremely anxious ( I did voice this at the time as I explained I do not normally get anxious).
We were finally resuspended and sent down the zip wire; overall it was enjoyable but very short and not a very comfortable ride particularly as my collarbone / shoulders and lower back were really aching by this point! ( bear in my mind I’m in my 30s and a healthy weight etc). My partner found the experience extremely uncomfortable due to severe lower back pain following the prior delay so did not enjoy the experience. My father in law did also say he found the experience to be very uncomfortable as the position he was placed in made it extremely difficult to look forward / move his neck and therefore he was only able to look down during the ride and not ahead!
My partner did report our experience on the day and we spoke to the manager in charge who seemed very good / logged the complaint and she was extremely apologetic. It seemed like our points were going to be taken seriously which we were pleased with as we don’t want this happening to anyone else. She did say we would have contact from the head office but we are yet to receive any contact as of yet.
Overall we think there needs to be a massive improvement in communication between staff members and customers. Further training and procedures around delays/ repairs/ communication skills/ appropriateness of skill mix.
On a positive note whilst we were on the zip wire experience my mother in law took my younger daughter on the rock climbing and she had a great time and was guided by a lovely ( male ) member of staff ? called ‘Lambarti’ who instilled confidence in my daughter and he was so lovely so we wanted to also acknowledge him :)
Not worth the money!
The staff were amazing here, very friendly and professional!! However I can't give 5 stars due to the highly inflated price for a miniscule time on the zip wires. We were charged £176 for 2 adults and 2 teenagers for less than a minute each on the wires. We left feeling robbed....and extremely underwhelmed. So disappointing.
I will never come again to hang loose
I will never come again to hang loose
I came with my son and his friend last weekend and was charged £70 each for 2 minutes a piece.
iFly offer 10 minutes for £50
When I queried the miniscule air time with the lad on reception all I got was attitude, and he tried to say that it's because they do a "high fly" [which iFly also do].
Their prices are insulting, avoid
Terrible value for money.£32 for a high…
Terrible value for money.£32 for a high ropes style course that took less 15 minutes to complete. It's high and the zip wire was good, but terrible value for money overall and not particularly challenging. My daughters rope also got caught on a box by the small bungy crossing which caused her leg to bruise in 3 places. That's a bit of a design fault i think.

First time open water swimming at Hangloose Bluewater today and I was not disappointed. Changing facilities were excellent and there’s plenty of parking at the location with only a short walk to venue. Noah, the lifeguard was very friendly and he was out on the water the whole time so they take the safety very seriously which is great for nervous swimmers. Can’t wait to go back.
please read if you have info about this!
hello I am writing this right now I am thinking of booking this for my brothers 16 birthday and i am 13 do you guys know what package is the best I want the best experience for him and do you know if you can split the experiences? we have not been yet but thank you for this time and reading this. have a good adventure if you went.
DO NOT BUY FOR OTHERS AS A VOUCHER!!!!
My friends bought me this as a gift voucher not knowing I have a disability that would prevent me from doing all of the activities. We have begged the company to refund the voucher, so we can get a more fitting activity. I sent in scans and doctor's notes and even offered to null the voucher so I could donate the money at least to charity. But the replies were short and dismissive and the last email just cut my reply option altogether. As other comments here already mentioned, they earn their money with vouchers that can't be used.
Don't pay for headcam!
Did the zipwire activity with additional cost of £15 for headcam. The video of the activity didn't contain anyshot from the headcam which was the highlight of the exercise. Instead, a video (with very annoying background music) of bird's eye view have been provided. I had taken care for the instructor at the top to switch it on and activate my camera- so there's really no excuse for it not functioning correctly. Instead I get a canned reply to my email. Suffice to say, I am highly disappointed and would encourage others don't waste money like I did.
Also at the end of the activity, I was given very minimal assistance in getting out of the harness by the Hangloose staff- it was a real struggle to stand up when your feet are not giving touching the ground!
Great day out
Went on all the activities, without long waiting times, the staff were amazing - 100% recommend to anybody
Great experience at Eden Project
Great experience at Eden Project. Staff members were so nice especially to my 9 year old daughter who got more than a bit scared on the swing.
However online booking system is pointless. You select a time but their is no system to allow you to actually go at that time. You join a queue. Booked for 12.45, arrived at 12.00, never went on the swing until 13.30 as others who just turned up we're in front of us. A two queue system should be in operation.
Give it a go, it's amazing!
Well organised, professional, safe and thrilling. Every member of staff we came into contact with was happy, smiley and polite. Safety was hugely invested in and no questions were left unanswered. The driver to the top was funny, welcoming and knowledgeable. Thank you for giving us a fantastic, safe and fun experience!
An amazing experience
An amazing experience - felt very safe and it was very well organised and spaced out. The staff were all brilliant and handled weighing very discreetly and sensitively. Couldn’t do the zipwire because, due to the winds, the weight requirements had changed, and the staff were really accommodating and didn’t rush us at all in making decisions about what to do instead. The only fault was that the camera on the Gravity swing didn’t record us due to a technical fault, so it was a shame not to get our footage from that, but no other issues at all. Would highly recommend.
We had the best day ever
We had the best day ever! My husband, daughter (age 11) and I stayed for the whole day, yesterday. All the staff were amazing, friendly, safety conscious and humorous.
My daughter was very nervous about the Skywire, but as soon as she landed she said, “Can I go on that again?!”, so we did!
Thank you to Dave for the lovely chat and for making us feel so welcome. We will definitely be visiting again.
Bitterly disappointed
I booked and paid for two skywire flights for my daughters birthday in May. Hangloose was closed due to the pandemic, so were unable to offer the service I'd paid for. I emailed them once and wrote to them twice yet received no responce. I then wrote to the Eden project (recoreded delivery) and had no responce from them either. I then wrote to the competition and marketing authority asking for their help and am presently waiting. Hangloose appear to think they can cancel and keep the money.
Don’t book this, don’t care about you only want your money
Don’t book this as they have young staff who are liars and don’t refund if you aren’t able to do the activity due to nerves. They don’t check your health conditions as they skim over any terms and conditions. Wouldn’t recommend only after your money no customer care
Absolutely superb
Absolutely superb. Can’t recommend it enough.
Was on my holiday and this was a must do. The staff are excellent and reassuring.
Hey!
You’re doing something a bit scary.
They were all the kind of people you want when you’re doing this sort of thing. Properly careful, professional & safety conscious for the punter.
That’d be me 😁
Opted for the zip wire and the stunt man drop onto the air bag... yeah I Wimped out after the first level. That’s on me being ‘chicken’ though. The guy coaching us was cool though and no macho bullshine Or Gwan Gwan Gwan. (My friends on the other hand... Masturbators. *They* weren’t standing up there. 😁)
The ‘Aerial Death slide’, although I think they prefer the term ‘Zip wire’ 😁 is flipping immense. Next time I will be wearing a Superman T-Shirt 😁 and do the backwards one as well.
Props to the all the staff! But especially the lass Harley who looked after us on the zip wire and the guy who took us on the drop thingy, but didn’t get his name.
I’ve heard there is a bigger one in North Wales. That’s a road trip. Next time I’m in Kernow though... 😉
Apparently my review contained ‘inappropriate language’. It’s the only way to describe how ace it is 😉
