Super helpful and quick with responses via email

They were so very helpful when we had some days revert to standard without us realizing as we were going back and forth on the website while booking this trip. We had to adjust a few things after booking and they made super easy to do.

The itinerary was a bit too packed for us personally, so we didn't make it to all the stops, but that just means we'll have to try and come back another time.

When we got caught in a one lane closed on ring road we emailed and let them know we were going to be a bit late for our booked time at a spa and they got ahold of the spa and got our time pushed back so we didn't miss it.

The only hiccup being the rental car company being the furthest one from the airport and so difficult to find when we first arrived. When dropping off in the rain I had to walk across several parking lots to get into the airport while watching other car rental companies having cars ferrying people to the airport door. This was pretty rough as I normally am an Avis preferred member, so having to use this company was odd for me.

Review

Everything went smoothly, exept the car rental, where we wrote that we need child seat but the info never made it to them. Luckily they gave it to us for free. And in the beginning when we arrived at the airport at night, we had a bit difficulty to find our car rental wich was outside of airport, had to use google maps to find it. But otherwise everything was good, loved the experince and everything else was great.

11 Wonderful Days!

Great trip. Group size was just right at 15, medium sized bus. The duration at 11 days allowed us enough time to see and do a lot without feeling rushed. Informative guide, who kept us on schedule, was flexible, and provided a lot of commentary about Iceland. Phone/online customer support was good, we sorted out a few issues with our vouchers.

Everything was fantastic!

The website was really easy to use and had several options for each day/location selected. The app was also very handy to have during our trip. And if you miscounted your days like I did, customer service was very responsive and helpful to adjust the activities accordingly. The individual tour companies working with Guide to Iceland were outstanding as well.

Great experience

Great experience. Customer service before the trip was timely. Immediate responses to all of my questions. The actual tour arrangements were flawless. We travelled in early shoulder season so weather was iffy. One needs to monitor weather and road conditions closely.

The 5-day Summer package tour

The 5-day package that I booked with Guide to Iceland is one the best packages that I have ever booked as it exceeded my expectations and provided me with an unforgettable trip! It covered all of my needs, has very helpful customer service, very detailed itineraries and informative instructions for first time visitors like me. My trips are very much worth it and my guides are just equally as amazing. Agnes for the Golden Circle tour and Sindri for the 2-days South Coast tour from David The Guide went above and beyond and showed us more than what I was expecting. I will definitely come back and book with Guide to Iceland again , no doubt. Thanks again for an amazing, unforgettable and safe experience.

Amazing and unforgettable experience!!

Amazing and unforgettable experience!!! A must go to place that I will definately return to and work with Guide to Iceland again. They helped plan everything out which was a relief off my back, from booking rides to booking hotel to booking the things we wanted to do. I also feel it was reasonably priced too! You will not be dissapointed. Mahalo again for your help.

The only reason this review is not 5…

The only reason this review is not 5 stars is because this company uses way too much AI. Some of the costumer service was human, but I was very disappointed to see AI-generated emails, and video ads on Instagram. The tours themselves were amazing, and the tour bus dispatches were prompt, and the tour guides were friendly.

Easiest vacation planning ever

I loved how easy it was to plan my vacation. They were very responsive to my questions. Once in Iceland, all the reservations were done correctly and when we had to change up the plan, it was so easy! The places we stayed were wonderful and all the excursions were fun!

Highly Recommend

Booking was simple. There were great choices for accommodations to fit any budget. After booking, I decided I wanted to change my rental car. The agent was helpful and I received a credit for the difference in price immediately. Once we arrived we were very happy with the accommodations. The app was helpful for planning our days. I have already recommended Guide to Iceland to others

Messy change of meeting location

We booked a glacier hiking tour for 9:00 AM today, May 9th, through Guide to Iceland well in advance. According to the advertisement and our voucher, the meeting point was at the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon car park. To prepare for this, we specifically booked a hotel nearby to ensure we were well-rested.
However, they only sent an SMS notification at 10:30 PM on May 8th—less than 12 hours before the tour—stating that the meeting location had been changed to Skaftafell Terminal Airport. These two locations are 53 km apart, requiring an extra 50-minute drive, which severely disrupted our itinerary.
Since the notice was given less than 24 hours in advance, we tried to seek help that night but received no immediate response. When we decided not to attend the next morning and requested a refund, they kept dodging responsibility. Finally, we have received refund on the next day. Because of their last-minute notice, we were also unable to find another company for a replacement tour. We do not recommend this company.

Avoid it

The weather forecast was dire (4 websites/app agreed on them). So, I contacted Guide to Iceland as I was pretty sure the tour would have been rescheduled, but they told me it was confirmed as it was considered safe and ENJOYABLE.
Maybe we have a different idea of what is "enjoyable" because just after few minutes from the departure we couldn't wait for it to end.
During the trip towards the glacier and the trip back we had to keep our eyes closed due to the snow/ice going into our eyes and pricking our skin like pins (customer service replied to me that in the adv it was indicated to bring SUNglasses, but anyone explained to us that they were needed also in case of NO SUN, so because there was no sun, any customers took his/her sunglasses; all of us parked in front of the meeting point so if the crew had told us the real need of sunglasses we could simply bring them with us).
We stayed some minutes in front of the glacier and we just saw for some seconds the head of a seal. No way to turn the rib to allow everyone to better see the seal, no attempt to find them in other places of the lagoon (even if we saw some of them from the parking when we arrived). Furthermore in the description of the tour it was mentioned that "in GOOD weather, gulls and seals often play on the ice". So, as the weather was bad, this was another reason to reschedule the tour (the next morning was so sunny and calm that it might have been a great option to reschedule).
During the trip back we stopped in front of a couple of iceberg, nothing more, no look for any seal. So to recap: the most of the time we were blind and see anything.
Both Guide to Iceland and the tour operator didn't want to risk losing money and they didn't care about the customer's experience.
My 2 cents: if you want to see seals and icebergs just pay the parking and let's see them from the land. You can also see seals in different spots in Iceland. To see the glacier you can drive to Svínafellsjökull Glacier or Skaftafell Glacier or Sólheimajökull and walk to arrive in front of it.
If you really want to do a tour, my last suggestion is to directly contact the tour operator without using an online platform. If you have direct contact they will care more and you avoid they start to passing the buck

Most compressive trip guide I ever had

Most compressive trip guide I ever had. Well planned and numerous options to experience this incredible country. Working with the staff was so easy. There were several hotels that we did not like and the staff provided more selections. Even experiencing the first blizzard as we started our journey did not faze us. We had a PLAN!

Wonderful trip with Guide to Iceland

I had a wonderful trip with Guide to Iceland. Once I gave them my travel dates, they arranged everything from my hotel in Reykjavik to my tour around Iceland with Troll tours. I was given vouchers for every transport and extra, from the bus waiting at the airport when I arrived to take me to the Blue Lagoon spa to the bus back to the airport at the end of my trip.

The 8-day Troll tour around Iceland was an incredible experience. We visited at least 14 waterfalls, including some of Iceland's most spectacular. My favorite was Seljlandfoss, which you can walk around behind -- soaking and exhilarating! The whale-spotting boat trip from Hauganes was also great, with plenty of spouts and surfacing tails. Another high point was the glacier hike. The only disappointments were the ice cave -- which was not the brilliant blue ice seen in photos and which I'd been expecting after the blue ice crevasses on the glacier and the glorious baby icebergs at the glacier lagoon and the Diamond beach --- and sadly no sight of the Northern Lights.

I can't recommend Guide to Iceland highly enough for their seamless arrangements throughout my trip. If I go back to Iceland -- which I hope to do someday -- I certainly will use them again.
