Sgt Grit Marine Specialties Reviews 

I returned a jacket that my daughter got me for Christmas 2023. The jacket did not fit so I returned it for a larger size. I mail the jacket through the Post Officer with my daughters paperwork. My tracking number shows Sgt. Grit received it. It has been two weeks now and nothing. No jacket, hours on hold waiting for no one in customer service to answer. No one responds to my emails including one I sent on their website. This is unbelievable. I'm still waiting.

On 10/13/2023, I returned a hat that was too big for me. I called customer service and followed the instructions given. I returned the hat on 10/13/2023. You received it on 10/16/2023. To date 12/15/2023, I still have not received my refund. No on answers the phone and email replies are automated. I am VERY disappointed. VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED.

I ordered the Black & Red EGA Canvas Jacket and I have to say I am very disappointed. First of all, they do not have a Size Chart on their website. I ordered a 3XL size, just like my Carhart work jacket. It didn't even come close to fitting! It was at least 3"-4" from closing and the sleeves were over 2" too short. It might have been a 3X for some tiny Vietnamese seamstress, but not a corn-fed American veteran. The "canvas" was very light-weight, more like denim than a canvas. Most online stores give you free shipping for orders over $100. Not here, they charged my $16.95 for 7-10 day ground shipping that actually took 13 days! THEN they made me pay to ship it back again! And when the refund came they did not reimburse me any of the shipping fees. So all totaled it cost me $30 to try on a jacket that didn't come close to fitting and left me thoroughly disappointed.

I have been a customer of Sgt Grit for years, and YEARS... AND YEARS. They are a quality company, and would have 5 ⭐'s, but they are quite a bit on the higher end in pricing, and shipping is a HUGE issue . . .

Although they do have great quality products, their RETURNs procedure, is primitive, to say the least. They STILL process returns, by filling out manual paperwork?!...

( for example, I accidentally purchased two of the same $100 Anarondak Jackets, - again, by accident... When I called them, and informed them that this was my very first ever return, explaining my situation, their customer service skills were all BUT lacking, . . . Not rude, but rather acting like "they were doing ME a favor," and emulated a vibe, like they were "put out" in doing so... ?? Even though I have been a 20+ year loyal customer, and must have spent thousands of dollars over the years, by now with them, they STILL made me pay to ship the duplicate back, at $9.80 my expense )... She explained, that I had to manually write up the return info, on the back of the packing slip, and submit it with the item to be returned ), . . . Thus, primitive.

So, FYI, YOU are responsible to cover shipping costs of returns, in ALL aspects. NOT HAPPY to say the LEAST. Therefore, with that being said, - Until they "get with the shipping program", (as 99% of all companies have, where shipping is covered by them), I will be surfing other, more cost effective means, of getting the exact same gear.
