The exit fee is €20 per day, and they charge for the number of days you rent the car. Their own car insurance is €40 per day, which is very expensive. The airport is very far away; you need to take an Uber, and the Ubers that come might not pick you up. It took us about half an hour to find one at the airport. I had a reservation to pick up the car at 8 AM. I arrived at the airport at 7:15 AM, and when I asked how I would get there, they said they would call an Uber after 7:45 AM, so I waited at the airport for half an hour. They refused to refund my €600 deposit, claiming there were scratches on the car. This is evident from the Google reviews, especially those given to people from other countries. They wrote that the scratch was 75 mm, but in their own photos taken from a distance, you can't even see a 10 mm scratch. It's unclear how they determine and charge this fee. This fee isn't even for repairs because no invoice is sent; it's completely arbitrary. If you rent a car from a more established company, you won't experience these problems.

I rented a car (4WD) through Kenings – Green Motion Cape Town, and what a nightmare afterwards. Think carefully before renting a car here.
After driving 150 km in Cape Town, we were alerted to a strange bulge on the sidewall of the tire, located near a previously recorded rim damage. This earlier damage had been documented in the report. Since we considered this unsafe, we reported it and the car was replaced.
It was confirmed that the issue was indeed related to the previous rim damage and that no additional costs would be charged. The car had around 40,000 km on the odometer, by the way.
However, after more than 5 weeks, we still received an invoice and were required to pay for a new tire. In the communication, they do not listen to you, and the earlier confirmation is dismissed because the person who replaced the car apparently does not directly work for Kenings Green Motion. This is very strange, especially since this (friendly) person personally delivered the replacement rental car and handled the paperwork.
It was a competitive price, but be careful when renting a car… previous damages are passed on to new renters. Shame!!
Update 02/04/2026: Three weeks ago, Kenings – Green Motion responded to this message (see their reply below). They said they would investigate the matter and contact me. So far, I haven’t heard anything from Kenings – Green Motion. Well… you could have expected that.
Update 4/5/2026; I sent my email address etc. to Kenings - Green Motion but they don't react anymore. Not very customer friendly.....

They did everything to make sure l could get my car, l had not got the green paper part of my licence so they sorted the check out on line. Never felt any pressure on choosing what insurance to take. Would recommend and will use again

Green Motion is just a few minutes' walk from Porto Airport. Entering the details for booking the vehicle was straightforward. The rental car was in excellent condition. Unfortunately, it had a minor electronic issue that appeared immediately after we picked it up and made it impossible to continue driving (a warning tone sounded while driving). Since the problem couldn't be resolved, the always helpful and friendly staff provided us with a suitable replacement vehicle, which we were very happy with. Returning the car was also hassle-free and took only a few minutes. All in all, it was a good experience. If we travel to Portugal again and need a rental car, we will definitely use this service again.

I was charged for the penalty offence I did not commit. When it was sorted the administration payment was refunded - however it was refunded couple of pounds lesser than it was taken.
