I’ve had a really positive experience with Green Chef overall. The food quality is consistently great, and I’ve genuinely enjoyed the meals I’ve made. The service has also been excellent—everything arrives on time, and any issues I’ve had were handled quickly and professionally.
That said, the price does feel a bit high for what you get. I usually order the 2 recipes with 4 meals for one person, which works out at about £7.11 per meal. While the convenience and quality are good, that’s still quite expensive for meals you’re cooking yourself at home. I think if the price were closer to £5 per meal, it would feel much more reasonable and better value for money.
I also think some of the negative reviews I’ve seen aren’t entirely fair. In my experience, the issues people mention can sometimes be exaggerated, and Green Chef does make an effort to resolve problems when they arise. Even when delivery issues have come up, such as a driver leaving the box in an inappropriate place like the main road, both Green Chef and DPD have made an effort to put things right.
Overall, it’s a great service with high-quality food and strong customer support, but the pricing could be more competitive. Give them a 2nd chance if your trying to get fit and healthy!

I have found the meals so far tasty, healthy and easy to make. I am mostly choosing low carb ones and it's good there are filters like this. I just need to be careful not to choose any too spicy for me.

The meals are very nourishing and very tasty. Easy to prepare and time saving with all the ingredients there ready to use. I chose the low calorie options and I have lost weight from eating them. The box is always delivered on time with great care.

Only used for 2 weeks. There was always something missing from the delivery. Some items went out of date so couldn’t use them for the week’s planned menu. When the meat isn’t going to last that’s pretty bad.
They catch you with the discounts, money off yet they don’t apply when you order.
I did let them know why I was leaving and no response back.

I was charged after entering my card details so I could browse the menu. I promptly cancelled my subscription and checked with the online chat bot which confirmed I had ended my subscription. I still got charged for the following weeks order despite giving more than 5 days notice.

I would strongly advise caution when using Green Chef UK.
I recently had an account reactivated without my consent following a live chat with their agent, who said they were “resetting” my account but instead created a new one. This resulted in a box being ordered and delivered that I did not authorise.
Even more concerning, payment was taken using details I did not enter on that account. I have asked for a clear explanation of how this was possible, but have not received one.
Customer service has been extremely poor throughout. Responses have either ignored the key issues or asked irrelevant questions, and I have now been left without any reply for several days despite raising a formal complaint.
I have been offered only a partial refund for an order I did not place, which is unacceptable.
This situation raises serious concerns around account management and payment handling. I am now pursuing this further as an unauthorised transaction.
Very disappointing experience.

I find the recipes very tasty and flavourful, with a lot of choice . The portion sizes totally adequate as i do tend to be a 'feeder' and they've taught me portion control . I never feel hungry afterwards either !

Do not click on any link from this company or set up any account. They have now reactivated or activated my account by me logging on. They then proceed to send a vegetarian meat dishes and refusing to refund. Stay away at all cost!!!

Based on my experience I would strongly advise against using this company. We ordered a first box using a gift voucher paid for as a present. The website crashed and it didn’t look like the order had gone through. We rang them and they said to try again in a few hours. We were then unable to change the order so got the wrong recipes. We were subsequently unable to access the account and following several phone calls to rectify this we asked to cancel the subscription. We were told it had been cancelled however another box has arrived which we have been charged for. We have spent a very long time on the phone trying to sort it all out but the experience has been dreadful. We have used other food box companies before and this has been the worst by a very long way. The actual food was fine but the website seems to crash and when you speak to them they do not action what has been agreed.
Update - they have now put this right. They refunded the second box that arrived for which we are grateful; thank you.

Such high quality ingredients and fantastic recipes. Its the only company that has managed to fill up the tummies of our hungry family!
So far not a great experience. My last box didn’t arrive at all and my current box has cod missing, this is the main ingredient. The only means of communication i could find is via their ChatBot or forms. I was finally connected with an agent called Louise who informed me that the omission was due to a shortage of cod skins!! Wow, I queried her terminology only to be told the following “ All of our ingredients come individually and therefore, customers are able to omit ingredients as they wish/prefer.” I’m still at a loss to understand how this explanation actually applies to me? I didn’t omit the cod, I was told it was missing due to a shortage of cod skins!!! I was offered £6.59 compensation. I now need to drive a 50 min round trip to buy cod so I can complete my meal for tonight. When I queried the amount I was then offered a further £5.
The whole cod skin thing is a strange reason to miss such a crucial item, I think what has aggravated me more than anything is the total lack of empathy at what I’m now faced with, replacing their items and the fact that they think £11.59 is a perfectly acceptable compensation for the massive inconvenience I now have before I can start prepping this meal.

We love our Green Chef boxes. You still have to cook, but it's easy and quick, and you don't have to plan meals, make decisions, or faff about with shopping. We are definitely eating more healthily now, and we have learned a few new tricks which have supported our weight loss/ improved health journey. They are really good at getting loads of veggies in the meals and in five months of two meals a week, there was only one recipe which we didn't think was delicious. They also introduced us to black rice; who knew? Deliveries were always reliable, no nasty surprises. About the same price as takeout and much nicer and healthier.

Very good experience so far. Top quality ingredients, very easy meals to prepare. No waste, so cost-effective. Very tasty meals.
The only downside is the courier Green Chef uses to deliver the goods. Had a few problems with the food parcel being left on top of bins and in the sun, not delivered to the front door as requested.

Let down by delivery service who knocked and ran......left on doorstep in the sun....I have had this problem with food deliveries before.

Courier knocked at the door. No answer.
Gate was left unlocked for delivery.
Courier (DHL) threw the box iver the gate which exploded the other side leaving all meals ruined.
This was our first experience of Green Chef, appreciate you cannot control the Courier but definately recommend submitting a complaint.
