Good quality plants & trees and helpful…

Good quality plants & trees and helpful knowledgeable staff - one negative is it's a bit pricey & its disappointing when you spend £3600 in 2 months but don't get the higher discount % because it was from 4 visits rather than all at once.

Forgot to load 2 massive trees!

I ordered 3 x 3m large pleached trees (the order came to over £800). Communication was good and I agreed a date with the customer service team - I needed the trees for a specific date as I had arranged for help for them to be planted before an event I was hosting. When it came to delivery, they overlooked putting 2 of these massive trees on the delivery truck which is frankly unbelievable! I raised a complaint - despite causing me huge inconvenience and me being out of pocket as a result of their error, the manager felt an empty apology was enough and offered zero gesture of goodwill. This shows a lack of accountability and care for their customer base and they seem satisfied in messing customers around.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback — we’re genuinely sorry for the frustration and inconvenience caused by this mistake.

You are quite right: your order included a clearance batch listing of 3 pleached Elaeagnus trees, and unfortunately our picking team overlooked that this was a 1 x 3 offer, resulting in only one tree being loaded for delivery. This was a clear oversight on our part and we completely accept responsibility for it.

While we did arrange immediate delivery for the remaining trees on the next available date (Friday), we fully understand that this did not undo the inconvenience, extra costs, and disruption to your plans — particularly when you had organised help to plant them in time for your event.

We apologise sincerely that, on this occasion we fell short of what was expected. Your feedback has been shared with our team to ensure lessons are learned and that similar clearance or batch listings are handled with greater care in future.

We appreciate your honest feedback and regret that we let you down on this occasion.

Excellent condition, delivered promptly

Item larger than expected, in excellent condition, delivered promptly via pallax.
Only criticism is there's no link or updates for delivery day & time on Grasslands' website, you have to search for the courier website & manually enter details to get up to the date info.

Ordered some pittosporum and laurel…

Ordered some pittosporum and laurel hedging which arrived in excellent condition, large plants for their pot size and great value for money. I was able to delay the delivery to a date that suited us, so overall very pleased!

Extremely poor service received a…

Extremely poor service received a rather overpriced Wisteria plant which after four weeks did not grow and died paid a premium price contacted customer service and were told but there are no guarantees and that it was my fault that the plant didn’t grow extremely poor service. Please beware if you are buying any plants from these people they charge a premium price for a very poor Product did advise them that distant selling would mean that they should have a guarantee in place for plants that do not survive a short amount of time. I will now only buy from a garden centre that I can visit and see the actual plant and I suggest that everyone reading this does the same these people are just interested in taking your money and not supporting their customers in any shape or form.

Great plants, delivered by their own driver

Purchased a large number of tall privet trees to replace a hedge. Great price and delivered to my door by their own driver (with timeslot and tracking). Plants were in great condition and even taller than expected! Thank you. Definitely recomended.

Great communication from pre order to…

Great communication from pre order to delivery, I ordered these in April with a June expected delivery time and wait time was exactly as they said, and my trees are perfect exactly as described maybe even better than I thought they would be. Highly recommend the service they provide thankyou .

Quality Plant

I had never purchased from Grasslands before, and can say I will be buying again in the future. My Astelia Red Shadow was the size I expected it to be and very well packaged, which arrived in first class condition. I wish I could say the same for Parcelforce 24 hour express which took five days to deliver which is NO FAULT of Grasslands I may add.

Finally a reliable online nursery!

I have placed three orders in the past three weeks with this company as my experience has been so good. It has mainly been topiary trees which have all arrived in the space of 3-5 days. Every tree has been the size advertised, in excellent condition, delivered in the time frame specified and a fair price. They have their own very cheerful delivery drivers which seems to make them more reliable and ensures the plants are delivered with care.

I did order with two other online companies that shall remain nameless but both had me waiting over 4 weeks for delivery and then delivered plants that were significantly smaller than what I paid for.

This is now my go to nursery. It’s so refreshing to find a company that delivers what they say, when they say! Thank you.

P.s Just to say, I am a genuine customer who is not related to them!

An overall disappointing experience…

An overall disappointing experience with Grasslands Nursery!!

A few months ago we purchased a number of plants from Grasslands for the front of our house which included a pine bush and two bay tree's. Around £2500 spent in total. The initial purchasing experience was great and all of the plants bought apart from two are really doing well and look lovely! I will give them that! After a few weeks from delivery, my wife started to notice that the pine bush and one of the bay trees was not doing so good. Not something I really noticed initially until a few more weeks later when they started to look really unwell and are now looking dead!

What makes this situation even more frustrating is the other bay tree is thriving, receiving the same care and placed in the same location as the two that are unfortunately looking quite dead. When I reached out to Grasslands via a number of emails for assistance, they refused to take any responsibility for the dead plants, which is quite disappointing given the significant amount I spent for the two at around £1,000. Naturally their focus was on under watering and over watering with their final stance being that when they were delivered they were both in good condition and that it is the change in care or environment that has played the role in their current condition. These are supposed to be robust plants and were cared for in a reasonable way being watered every two to three days especially over warm periods. Both items currently remain in the original pots as delivered in although we have purchased large expensive pots for them to be transferred to which won’t happen now!

It's really disappointing to invest that kind of money and not receive even basic accountability. We were offered 20% off to try again and purchase replacements but I find this unacceptable. I expected better from a company that specialises in selling plants to the general public. I would advise potential customers to be cautious when purchasing from Grasslands especially items that are of high value, as my experience has been far from satisfactory.

Ironically and unfortunately we have a large landscaping project that I’m looking forward to planned for our back garden and through this experience I will ensure that I work with a company that react very differently when there are obvious defects that need to be remedied that will unfortunately cost them to put right.

With regard to the pine and bay tree that have unfortunately declined, we feel it’s important to clarify our position. These were mature, fully established plants that had been grown in their nursery containers for several years and were dispatched in excellent health. Plants of this size and condition simply do not deteriorate within weeks unless something post-delivery — particularly relating to water — has gone wrong.

In your case, the plants have remained in their original nursery containers since delivery. While this is fine in the short term, it does mean that water management becomes absolutely critical. Nursery pots are designed for professional environments with close monitoring; in a domestic setting, even a few days of under-watering — especially in warm conditions — can cause irreversible damage. We have no reason to believe that there was any fault with the plants themselves, as the rest of your order is performing well and the items were visually healthy on dispatch.

While we understand how frustrating it is to lose high-value plants, we cannot accept responsibility for issues that arise after delivery, particularly when they are almost certainly the result of under-watering in pots. Our offer of a 20% discount on replacements was made as a gesture of goodwill, not an admission of fault.
