Scam Alert! They have had my iPhone 13x for 5 months and all I have received is lame excuses.
Do not send them your phone unless you just want to donate it to them. I think all of their good reviews are fake. My experience sounds just like the other bad reviews.

Sent iPhone in on 11-14 and status marked "Approved" on 12-15 and as of today, 4-23, I've yet to receive payment. I've received any number of emails saying payment is forthcoming and have "chatted" with what seems to be a nice girl named "Amber" who even went out of her way to send me an email saying it was on its way but still nada so best I can tell I'm out one iPhone and the $445 payment. No bueno!

I had an old phone and needed some extra cash, so I started looking online and came across this company. They were offering more than others, which caught my attention. Of course, I checked the reviews, but you never really know what to expect.

I decided to give them a call, and they sounded legit. From there, they kept me updated every step of the way, which I really appreciated. Within about a week or so, I received my payment with no issues.

I highly recommend them, and I’ll definitely be using them again when I upgrade my wife’s phone. They make the process easy and keep you informed the whole time.

Fast, fair and reliable. Got exactly what I was quoted and payment came through without any issues. Will recommend again!

UPDATE - As of 5/18/26
After multiple messages and phone calls, this company has deliberately decided not to respond to my request for information and return of my devices. I've filed complaints with the BBB, which they ignored. Filed a complaint with Texas Attorney General, which they also ignored. And, I'm in the process of filing a lawsuit for breach of contract under the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code.

Bait and switch. Received an original quote, then after 3 months of waiting, received an unacceptable low-ball offer.
The company will only respond over text, which is once every 4-5 days, if I'm lucky. Hasn't sent any other updates and continues to disappoint at every level. The website gives no additional information on the status of my order.

Highly disappointed and will never do business with this company again!

It’s been 3 months and I get periodic emails saying ‘payment is on the way’, it’s not. This is a scam company, avoid them!

I did receive full payment after 10 weeks in three split payments , but the process took much longer than promised and communication was very poor. Calls weren’t answered and updates were inconsistent. While they eventually paid, the experience was frustrating and not what was advertised. I would recommend caution if you expect timely service.

Send my iPhone to this company on January 20th and I am still waiting for a payment today March 28th. I only received a response to my email half the time. Communication is very poor and they still have not delivered a payment even though they say I qualify for the maximum payment.

This review is because golden standards buybacks stand on there word. You have to have some patience with them because it's a process and there doing there best to get things done but overall I had a great experience with this company. And I'll refer anyone to do business with golden standard buy backs.

They are a fraudulent company and deserve to be sued and put in jail for criminal activity. They have someone named Susan who will continuously lie over emails, it’s been 2 months and we have only received fake wrong information on how our payment is processed or is released and how they’ll be calling us etc. all incorrect information. They owe us 1150$$, they literally have our personal phone (personal property which is criminally a theft requires jail time) that they are obligated to either return or pay for. We have countless communication evidencing they have received it and have confirmed they will be paying yet no payment. We also have evidence of their policies and site having inaccurate misleading and fraudulent information and claims. Till now they most likely didn’t deal with a lawyer, I’ll make sure they are personally held accountable by the US LAW and have financial responsibility and impact as well as criminal charges brought to them. I’ll follow this through till they course correct.

My experience with Golden State could not have been better or easier! Printing their shipping label was easy, navigating their site was simple. The owner very patiently helped me fix something I had done wrong in the preparation. Their response and customer service was amazing. I will definitely use them again and recommend highly recommend them.

Long story short, I sent them a device and back and forth with chat, they refuse to send the device back and send me money they owed. I will be contacting an attorney and local law enforcement for theft.

This has been a horrible experience. I sent an iPhone 16promax 1tb in very good condition and was offered $879. That was Dec 11 and have received two pmts with promises after promises that the remaining amt owed would be sent. That has not happened yet and it is March 9th. They still owe me $424.79 which includes 2 10% bonus pmts for the delays. I have tried and tried but the just won’t pay so I guess I’ll have to do like others and contact the Texas Attorney General’s office for help

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE A SCAM!!!

I sent my wife's phone in last December. Zero response. Two months later I began chasing their "customer service" which is a text message chain they stop responding to. At least 40 attempts to get paid what was due for the phone. Then they went silent. Still - no response and no payment.

Do not fall for this scam like I did!! They suggest they pay the highest amount for your phone - and then pay you nothing and don't even respond to communications.

I have contacted the McCallen FBI agency and reported that they are operating an illegal business. The owners should be put in prison for cybercrime!!!

Received payment on 03/26/26 - gentlemen sounded sincere and they had a bunch of issues that happened, He said he understands that they need to do better even when these things happen. I told him I would update my review for him so hopefully he keeps his word and makes everything right.

**Completely Do Not Recommend**

I sent my phone to Golden Standard Buybacks for an agreed $933 payout. They confirmed receipt of my device but never paid the full amount.

I did not authorized partial payments but they did anyways. I received a small amount and then only received $400 via Zelle, sent from a secondary account listed as **Imperial Homes LLC (Golden Standard Buybacks Secondary Account)** — not directly from their main business account. The remaining $288 has not been paid, and my phone was never returned.

During the delay, I was given multiple excuses:

* “Death within the office”
* “Pending bank issue”
* “Payment already sent”
* “Waiting on bank confirmation”

No proof of any pending payment was ever provided. Communication eventually stopped.

Based on my experience, I completely DO NOT recommend sending your device to this company. Please be cautious!!!!!
