Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 55 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the airport's services inefficient and poorly managed, leading to significant delays in baggage reclaim and passport control. Reviewers frequently encountered issues with security processes, noting insufficient operational scanners and long queues. Customers often reported unhelpful and rude staff, with many noting a lack of professionalism and insufficient personnel. The facilities were widely criticized for being old, tired, and often filthy, particularly the toilets, with many also noting a lack of modern amenities. Baggage reclaim chaotic

As usual, long delays at baggage reclaim. "Too many flights arrived at the same time" is always their excuse. The company that handles the baggage for Jet2 is very inefficient, and that's the words of the Jet2 rep.
Airport in general very rundown. Profits before customer service.

Shambles

Unfortunately couldn't give it a zero star rating.
Well Glasgow "International" Airport. What a welcome for travelers. if I didn't live in this country I would have got straight back on the plane and returned.
Totally unwelcoming, dirty soiled carpets, dirty smelly toilets and the queue for Passport Control unbelievable.
I hopefully will never have to use this airport ever again.
From disembarking to getting through immigration was 2 hours. The queues were horrendous. Absolutely no excuse for this whatsoever. However even if I had got through sooner baggage would need to have been waited on.
Probably the worst experience in many many years of travelling around the world.
Get your act together Glasgow "International" Airport.

Find it difficult to rate it more than…

Find it difficult to rate it more than 1/5. Passport control and baggage has been an utter shambles the last three times we have been there. Massive long queues once off the plane then when we reached passport control it then filtered us there into families and couples…. Why there and not further back. But to be honest, this made no difference as there were just a handful of border control staff on duty and as usual the automatic passport gates didnt work, the couples queue then filtered into our queue. Keep getting the same response from the staff…. It’s the busy time of day - sick of hearing that. We also waited just over 30 minutes on the plane when we arrived for steps to arrive. One set came to out plane (TUI dreamliner) and all disembarked onto the runway via the front door.
My wife also commented on how unclean the ladies toilets were as well.
I very rarely complain about staff as to be honest, staff anywhere i have been have been perfectly fine, but the staff at Glasgow airport were unwelcoming, unfriendly and seemed to not care and didn’t want to be there…. Maybe sick of how management is running this “international” airport…. I’d hate to hear what tourists think of this.

Easily the worst airport i have been to and by far the worst in Scotland.

Terrible Arrivals experience

Departures are fine. But yet again, Arrivals is absolutely terrible. Massive queues at immigration and huge waits for baggage. This is the last 3 times coming back to Glasgow I've had the same experience. The company running it obviously just don't care.

Poor

Comparing Glasow Airport to other Scottish Airports, it's now become the poor man of Scottish Airports.
It offers travelers nothing other than over priced, dirty bars and dirty seating areas. The shops are sparse and the whole place is in need of a make over.

Daylight robbery

Drop-off / pick-up? Extortionate. Bus fare? Ridiculously expensive. Eating or drinking inside the airport? Bad fast-food level of quality for high-end dining prices.

If you want to experience how it feels to be robbed repeatedly, I strongly recommend this airport.

Friendly

Friendly, very helpful staff, some going above and beyond. Efficient, clean and practically stress free. Such a surprisingly good experience, especially following the abysmal experience of shambolic Bristol airport. Thank you Glasgow!

This airport is dreadful now

This airport is dreadful now. Taken over by gougers.

They are deliberately creating massive queues at immigration and security to drive people into paying for the priority line which amazingly appeared at the same time the priority lines did.

Outside is the same, predatory lanes designed to confuse drivers and then charge for the mistake.

As for the parking more rip off as you expect.

I’ve been using this airport for 50 years and I have never seen it so bad. It is a s***hole.

Incompetency Definition

Incompetent, clueless clowns operating a circus experience.

Paid £7 for express security TICK
Massive queues TICK
Watch people in standard queue get through quicker TICK
Watch security lane staff relax whilst line is empty TICK
Around 6 security bays not in use TICK
Finally make it through security to hear threatening final call announcements from an annoying voice TICK
Never use this dive again ✅ ✅

Just dropped someone off at the car…

Just dropped someone off at the car park. I was like 2 min, stopped the car let people out and drove away. Would you believe they charge me a whopping £5.5 for it. There are no charges displayed so you won’t know this unless you are at the exit gate. Scammers at there best, and legal to do so.

This place has the nerve to call itself…

This place has the nerve to call itself an “international” airport. It is extremely limited on the destination it serves. Once you’ve paid the astronomical fees just to “drop-off” which is currently £5.00 - heaven forbid you need to leave your car as you’ll need a mortgage to pay for that experience.
Don’t bother paying the £30 pp to use the upper deck lounge, we arrived at lunch time for our 2pm flight to be greeted by a very, very poor buffet lunch.. two pasta dishes one called itself tomato and the other macaroni cheese; both were extremely bland and inedible. The other option was a cream cheese sandwich on brown and a wafer thin ham on white.. dried out because they were both presented on a hot plate. Really poor excuse for catering. - never again will I waste the money on that poor excuse for lounge area food. To top it off, we were treated to the delights of staff arguing about who was clearing the tables and whose turn it was to man the front desk - such professionalism.

Attended to pick up a friend was greeted with a £5.50 charge to drive through drop off / pick up point then headed for short stay car park multi story to be charged £24.00 for two hours so £29.50 parking then I was robbed in Starbucks for a coffee.
Beware of Glasgow Airport charges they are a joke.
I hope to never be back.

Excellent special assistance service

Excellent service from everyone at special assistance. Especially Steve - on Thursday 8th February 24, he brought several wheelchair users through the lift process to the plane, including my dad. He was so professional, keeping everyone safe, but also so much fun. He had everyone laughing and really looked after my dad, and brought my mum and I along for the ride too. I really appreciated it as travel and airports is now such a stress for my parents due to my dad’s mobility. Thank you for Steve for your bubbly personality and fantastic care. You are a great ambassador to anyone visiting our lovely city. Kirsty

Glasgow Long Stay car parking - never again

Arrived early for our lunchtime flight . Number plate recognition on entry but no ticket dispensed as said on documentation . Help button not working and no-one at the main reception. Cars were parked like sardines and places were extremely limited ( staff also use this car park ) very little space between cars and we are keeping our fingers crossed no damage on return . Transfer bus runs regularly. Documentation states approx 5 min walk to terminal more like 20 mins I would say. Will not be using this car park for future trips will stay with the off site ones we have used previously booked this one for location and certainly does not feel onside.
