I was very concerned to see you have had a poor experience with us and that you thought we were a scam.
As I mentioned in our 1-1 email conversation following your review, we are first and foremost a credit building product, and the store is just one part of our proposition. As a responsible lender, we need to observe our customer repayment behaviour to ensure they are not getting into unmanageable debt before considering whether to reduce the upfront required payment over time. This is why all customers can only use credit towards 30% of their purchases to begin with.
Our ultimate aim is to bring this down to a 0% upfront payment for customers with solid repayment history to deliver a truly financially inclusive, interest-free consumer credit product. This would be incredibly valuable to our customers and offer a fair way to borrow without horrendous interest rates offered by traditional credit card companies.
As I’m sure you will appreciate, such an ambitious goal is not something we can achieve in the few short months we have been running. We are a very young company and these things all take time to come to fruition, so I’m sorry you were disappointed with your experience and feel it didn’t live up to expectations.
In all cases, we offer a 30 day money back guarantee with no questions asked, so we would have been happy to resolve your disappointment quickly and easily with a full refund. We never heard anything from you prior to you leaving your review so were unable to address issues that we were not aware of, but following our conversation the team refunded you in full right away.

Very handy way to boost my score
Very handy way to boost my score. Don't even need to think about it and I'm using it in conjunction with some credit builder cards to really up my score so I can get my mortgage soon. When I had a question livechat were quick to come back which was good.

You are correct in stating that it does take a few weeks before Apricot will appear on your credit report due to the way the credit bureaus collect data. As other reviews have said, customer service is great via live chat and email, and they even have a phone number you can call (although I haven't used this yet).
