Rude customer service!

A super rude customer service. They rebooked my flight, and I was calling to reschedule it - and I was not able to pull out my booking reference number because the agent just said "tsk-tsk, check online." I said I needed help, and because the online options have payment, and since they rebooked my flight, it's free to select options. My wife even confirmed it two days ago that it is in fact my option to check other flights and choose. So this call was supposed to be me selecting our options. The guy just hung up the phone. Rude, the tone of voice was degrading, the sound of the voice seemed as if he was already irritated to help and answer my question.

If there zero star

If there zero star, I’d definitely rate it zero. The people working at Flair, some of them are really rude and condescending! It’s very weird and hilarious to see people try to squeeze in their bags, even a little bit cannot be seen outside the measuring box.

My first experience taking Flair

My first experience taking Flair, and it's the last. If u think ur saving money, think again. They don't use standard carry-on sizes, and you pay for absolutely everything. The airport staff are very rude, and u leave feeling very taken advantage of.
The cost turned out to be more than a flight with either Air Canada or WestJet. It was the worst flight experience ever.

Never flying with Flair again.

I flew from Toronto to Calgary with Flair Airlines. I had heard some warning about them before, but booked because there was no other option. It was a nightmare. They make you stuff your personal bag into a tiny measuring slot that’s smaller than the actual space under the seat. Hidden baggage fees were ridiculous — first they asked for $120 then I went to another person they asked $63, while someone sitting besides me paid $90 for even a smaller and lighter bag than that of mine.

Their on-ground staff is very rude. They seem to care about one thing only — how to charge more for anything. I’ve flown with many airlines before, but I’ve never experienced so much stress and frustration. Never flying with Flair again.

⚠️ WARNING

⚠️ WARNING – Never, ever fly with Flair Airlines! This is by far the worst airline I have ever flown with. Their entire business model feels like a scam designed to squeeze money out of passengers.
1. At check-in they lost my boarding pass. When I asked for a replacement, they deliberately split me up from my travel companion. To fix it, they wanted to charge us $31 each – just to sit together! Outrageous.
2. I booked online, where a small bag was clearly included in the ticket. But at check-in, they flat-out denied this and forced us to pay $175 for two small bags that were already supposed to be covered.

The staff were shockingly rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. Their attitude was among the worst I have ever encountered with any airline.

We were flying from Vancouver to Toronto, and this experience was nothing short of infuriating. Flair Airlines treats its customers with complete disrespect.

🚫 Never again.

Never fly with flyflair.

everything went wrong, they state that we have 7kg bag for free, but upon arrival you see that the 7kg bag is a meant to be a small back pack, the customer service is horrendous as the staff seem to be wanting to scam there customers rather then help. we had to pay for extra bags then after we landed our bags were lost and that seemed to be a frequent thing as many people were waiting for there bags from previous flights.

If there was a 0 star I will rather use…

If there was a 0 star I will rather use it they don’t deserve a 1 star! I missed my flight to Vancouver from Toronto because I was told that they can’t find my payment for my baggage I paid $230 that took about 40 min and after paying for a ticket of $1260 I missed my flight and when I reported this issue I was told I was going to get a call from a supervisor and it has been 6 days I have still not received a call. I had to pay $1400 for another flight because flair wouldn’t compensate me for missing my flight that they caused! They are rude and inconsiderate. Book with this airline at your own risk. They also misplaced my luggage and found it a day later this whole experience was a nightmare.

Damaged baggage

I was on a flight from Mexico to Montreal with Flair Airlines on 31.03. 2025.
They charged me 110 Canadian dollar for three kilo overweight and when I got my luggage back I found it damaged. It was reported but since April I'm waiting for my refund.
I can not recommend this carrier. No customer service. Just sending emails and wasting time.

Their cancellation fees are insane!

Terrible experience with Flair is their cancellation fees. Even for small changes or errors, you end up paying huge fees that make the ticket almost worthless. It feels like they trap customers with hidden charges. I would strongly caution others before booking with them. I’ll never fly with them again.

Wow all l read is really really bad…

Wow all l read is really really bad reviews about this crappie airline. How can people even work for this airline? Are they complicit in this scam? Or simply don't care as long as they have a job. Not sure what their business motto is but what is certain is that they are extremely good at making people feel like flying with them is a horrible experience. One thing l know, they will never get a single penny from me. Bunch of loosers

Hidden fees, humiliation,

To start with the good: They advertise a good price.

The bad: Everything else, the price is a lie. You will almost certainly have your flight delayed, you should also expect to pay for the checked bag. They will force you to cram your items into a tiny metal box, I have never in my life seen another airline do this. They will make you do this twice, once at check in and once in line even if you have a tag.

I suspect the planes are also on the verge of falling out the sky. Their flights are as a rule delayed, often fully cancelled then you need to be rebooked, citing safety concerns suggests to me they are skimping on safety requirements and barely meeting regulations. They will have a serious crash one day I'm almost certain of it.

If anything goes wrong you will be denied to speak to a single person. Their call line is designed to make it impossible to talk to a human being. In their call menu, the only way to talk to a human is to get to the chatbot then say "agent" or "representative" note this is not an option they actually present.

Apparently you have to pay to talk to an actual human being, so each phone call to customer service costs you 15 to 30 bucks for them to deny your request.

Charging for everything

Terrible customer service the agents only agenda was for customers to pay for a carry on or personal bag. Unbelievable unbelievable will never fly with them again. Was 1 pound over and they also mad me take a pair of shoes out of my luggage. What’s this world coming too! They need to change the way airlines charge for flights. Also, just found out they have NO ICE on our flight

Treated like a criminal as a paying customer

Without doubt the worst experience with an airline. Having flown all over the world and experienced budget airlines everywhere, Flair treat you like a criminal while smiling and taking your money.

We had our carry on baggage checked several times, each time getting more strict. The lady at the gate must have been on commission with the passion she forced people to pay more, for even the smallest part of a bag poking out of the sizer.
Endless other passengers having to fork out for extra baggage at the gate when it was adequately sized at check in and security.
The online check in process is ridiculous and took over an hour, the queuing system at the gate left everyone totally confused.
The staff were rude and dismissive.

I’ve never experienced it sat on a plane where everyone sat around was frantically saying ‘never again’ and ‘I’ll pay whatever it costs not to use them again’.

On top of this we arrived at JFK to find our baggage smashed and zips broken with no hope of getting compensation.

Stay well away

Avoid Flair — unless you enjoy surprise fees and gaslighting at the gate

Flew Winnipeg–Toronto–Winnipeg with the exact same backpack that fits Flair’s own “personal item” guide. On the return, I was pulled aside, ID demanded, told I suddenly owed $89+tax (no receipt), and threatened to be “flagged.” Staff flipped their nametag when I asked for a name.

Others with the same bag boarded free. I didn’t even use the overhead bin, because there wasn’t space anyway. This felt less like baggage enforcement and more like a cash grab.

Flair’s problem isn’t overhead bin space – it’s what’s going on over their heads in management.

I'd rather walk from California to Canada

I think another reviewer said it well — flying on Flair does not feel like flying; it feels like walking into a bunch of traps. Every step of the way is designed to trap you. They force you to check in online, but it doesn't actually give a boarding pass so you have to line up anyway. Flight attendants didn't seem to do anything on the flights except to patrol the exit rows make sure nobody wasn't sitting in them (since nobody paid for those).

The thing that really made me upset was that I paid for a carry-on item (I think it was around $50), and I brought a standard carry-on sized luggage. It fit into their sizer except that one wheel was half an inch too big (sadly I don't think I can attach a photo here). The lady at the sizing station decided to target me personally, as I watched the group in front of me go through even though their hard plastic handle (which is larger than a wheel) was sticking out of the top of the sizer, but my wheel was deemed too large. Despite my pleas with the ticketing agent (a different person) I ended up paying $62 to take this as a checked bag.

Al luck would have it, I met the the sizing lady again at the gate. I sarcastically said to my wife, "oh look, it's your favorite person again..." The woman then said multiple times (I think three times), "I HEARD what word you used" but would not tell me what word she thought she heard, and she reminded me that she has the power to prevent us from boarding. I guess "favorite" is offensive at Flair... maybe they don't know that word since they have never heard it before?

Avoid - Trust the Reviews

This was our first time flying Flair (YYZ to YVR return) as a family of four.

As good passengers would normally do, we checked in using the online portal. The system did not allow us to select a seat for our daughter, nor print her boarding pass. We then received a notification that we would be delayed by 2+ hours.

When we called to see if an earlier flight was available, the customer service rep indicated that it was impossible to change our flight as we are already checked into our newly discovered delayed flight.

In inquiring about earlier flights, he put us on hold only to then provided options for earlier flights, for times that had already passed.

I have a feeling that companies do this intentionally, to elicit frustration from customers/clients.

In any case, heed my advice and avoid this airline.

✈️ Flair Airlines

✈️ Flair Airlines – Misleading and Unfair Charges.
I recently flew with Flair Airlines and had a disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share. Before my departure, I needed a correction to my name on the booking and was charged $84.85. While I understood the fee, I specifically asked the gate crew if I would be charged again on my return flight. They assured me I would not.
Unfortunately, that assurance turned out to be false. Upon arriving at the airport for my return flight, I was charged the same fee again. This felt misleading and unfair—especially after I had taken the time to clarify the situation in advance.
Flair’s lack of consistency and transparency around fees is unacceptable. It’s one thing to charge for changes, but quite another to give incorrect information and then penalize the passenger for it. I won’t be flying with Flair again, and I’d advise others to be extremely cautious and double-check everything—because even verbal confirmations from their staff can’t be trusted

If i can give zero stars to Flair…

If i can give zero stars to Flair Airlines, i would. First we accidentally chose the wrong time when booking which is our fault. But their policy if it is a domestic flight, they won't refund you. They only refund international flight. 2nd, the website is so confusing when adding extras, i added 10kg checked in luggage and paid for it. But when i check my itinerary, it shows that it is a carry-on. I have to call customer service, and even the agent said, "Oh yes, it is a checked in. Then i confirmed with her bec my invoice shows carry-on, and she has to place me on hold to double-check, and she realizes that it is a carry-on and not checked it. Flair Airlines' website is built to scam people and confuse them it maybe my fault for not looking thoroughly, but the website should be user-friendly, especially with moms like me. Should have gone to westjet or aircanada. Flair airlines make your website user-friendly even your agent got confused. And now i just wasted 73 dollars for a carry-on because they can't refund me. The agent said she cannot do anything even if i talk to her supervisor. Lol what a customer service. You are just trapped. I feel bad for the people.who work for them because the company itself sucks.

Truly a sad airline

Over the past few years this airline as progressively gotten worse to the point that its become a truly a terrible airline. They have really sacrificed customers experience for scraping out every last bit of profit that they can. Won't be flying with them anymore.
