if I could rate less than one star i would!

if I could rate less than one star I would. Flair Airlines actively tries to make their customers (the exact same customers who keep them open BTW) pay more in time and money than any other airline WHILE providing a terrible service. I will NEVER fly Flair again. amongst things like paying over $80 dollars for a carryon bag, PLUS $100 dollars for a checked bag, we waited over 50 minutes just to complete a check in (that we had already done online to avoid paying $34 dollars in person). we made it through security faster than doing the check in. I swear this airline is actively trying to reach a one star rating on every review platform, they are very close it or already.

will never fly flair airlines again, I truly hope they close and loose all the money they actively steal from people.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service. They sell everything small backpack doesn’t count, they sell seats with same last name. System gives families different seats to make people pay money.

Scams abound.

Their business model seems to be based around scamming you on fees. Their prices on their website are DOUBLE what travel sites advertise.
If you try to cancel a flight (even within an hour of purchase) they will tell you they can't do it because the cost of the refund is more than the ticket. (something that should cost $0 since it's all online and not handled by a real person)
TERRIBLE AIRLINE.

Don't 'fly flair'...

The airline is like a zoo.

Flight attendants yelling at passengers over the intercom. Very hostile atmosphere.

Passengers being hassled for their carry on luggage. My bag was approved by one receptionist, but hassled by another, who demanded I pay.

Unforgiving name correction policy. Expect to pay $150 CAD to append your maternal last name...

No water on the flight without a fee.

Relentless announcements over the intercom that had the words "mastercard or visa" in it. It was as if I was inside of an infomercial...

Apathetic staff.

Fees for everything.

Do not 'fly flair'. I would rather take a quiet bus.

This airline is a SCAM

Do NOT book with this airline, you will regret it! You think you're saving money, but you will actually be paying the same amount or MORE and having a completely terrible experience. The planes are disgusting and smell like urine, the customer service is the worst i've ever encountered, and they scammed me into paying for multiple bags and won't issue receipts, i can't believe a company like this is legally allowed to do business

Just don't do it

Just don't do it ! Every time we book Flair we say "never again". Don't waste your money. There system does not match third party booking. Twice now, we paid for extra bags and at the airport it shows we never paid. It does not show on there system. They make you pay at the counter, you then have to deal with it after your holiday. We find ground crew at all destinations not very helpful and can be very forward ! Spend your money on another airline. After all the fees it will be cheaper.....lol

Tax Fraud, Discrimination, and "Segmentation Error" Shakedown at YVR (Flair Airlines)

I am warning all travelers about the unacceptable practices of Flair Airlines at YVR. As the booking organizer, I ensured all data was correct, yet a system sync error caused a surname discrepancy on the manifest.
Evidence of Improper Charges:
In a written response, the airline admitted the data WAS in their system but claimed a "Segmentation Error" because a surname was in the "Middle Name" field. According to Flair’s official policy, adding or correcting a middle name is FREE. Despite their own rules, they forced us to pay $134.25 for a correction that should have cost $0, turning a system glitch into an arbitrary fee.
Billing Inconsistencies:
The amount charged does not align with BC taxes (5% GST). On a $125 fee, the total should be $131.25. However, they charged $134.25—an unexplained $3.00 surplus. The receipt provided has no official letterhead, no tax breakdown, and states: "NOT VALID FOR TRAVEL OR PAYMENT."
Lack of Ethics and Compassion:
My travel companions—a 78-year-old lady in panic and a 62-year-old traveler with a disability—were subjected to extreme stress for nearly an hour. The Supervisor showed zero compassion; he never stood up and avoided eye contact while indifferently using his cell phone. He also spoke in Filipino with the agent to exclude us, making us feel discriminated against.
Furthermore, on a 5+ hour flight, they do not even provide a glass of water.
Ongoing Actions:
Complaints have been filed with the CTA and Consumer Protection BC. I am also reporting the receipt and tax discrepancies to the CRA.
AVOID THIS AIRLINE AT ALL COSTS.

Credit expiration never communicated to the customer

I had a negative balance (credit) on my reservation. The credit still shows on the reservation and there is no mention about the expiry date. Now that my trip is getting closer, I wanted to use the credit and purchase some services. Customer service told me that the credit has expired and is can no longer be used. I was never notified about the expiration of the credit. I feel like Flair Airlines hid information from me and stole my money. The worst airlines I've ever used.

Flair airline is a scam! They nickel and dime you at the gate for everything!

Flair airline is a scam business practice! They use extortion methods at the gate to nickel and dime you for anything that comes to their mind! They are on a mission to collect extra money and in the end you are asked : Do you want to fly today and if so give us your credit card ! Such a scam! They charged us for 4 small backpacks that perfectly fit into the sizer for a personal item. $104 each! But the bags had to "freely, without any pressure" fit in the sizer! The truth is they HAVE to find something to charge you for to add at least $100 to the ticket! We got charged for a carry on because we did not have any, so there is an OPTION for a charge! People's carry on luggage was transferred to a check in one for a double extra charge! A glass of water will be given to you " only if you faint" and you can change your seat only if you pay regardless that the plane is half empty! If you want to talk to a manager- no way, there is no time for that! If they have to check you in this will cost you $38 and finally when I called customer service to file a complaint for aa refund after the flight the customer representative told me that it will cost me $35 for him to do that! Nice! If you want to be in a horror movie fly with Flair! NOT ME! Never ever again! I do not want to contribute a single penny to this absolutely shady business! Such a flawless scam!

Predatory pricing

Predatory pricing. Inconsistent rules amoung staff at the gate. Nice ones are flexible. Nasty ones are truly nasty and just dismiss you. But I can’t blame them. Their employer clearly benefits from these practices and they get the brunt of it.

I have flown with Flair in the past

I have flown with Flair in the past and it was a horrible experience. The airplane was dirty and uncomfortable. The flight attendants were friendly, but that was the only plus.
Also, I recently purchased another flight with them and I tried to cancel my flight and they refused to give me a refund(credit only).
I will never again use this airline, better to spend a bit more money and fly with a reputable and more superior airline.
DO NOT USE FLAIR AS THEY ARE A SCAM

Couldn't go lower than a "0". Booked with Flair & Flighthub. Flair cancelled my flight and they both wouldn't refund any of my flight. If I could afford to fly with someone else rather than Flair I would!

Flair Airlines is the worst airline…

Flair Airlines is the worst airline with the worst service. They call themselves a “low cost carrier.” Let me tell you it’s a joke! After you pay for your luggage and your carry on and any other expenses you may have it’s the same as any other airline. Except with other airlines you get food, drinks and better service. They should call themselves “Fake Airlines.” They nickel and dime you for everything. Even their customer service agent said to me, “nothing is free with Flair Airlines.” The agent was rude and loud shouting across the floor for people to get their ID out and forcing everyone to measure their bags in these tights small spaces. She was watching everything and seemed to be gloat with people’s disappointment and challenges, she wasn’t helpful at all.

Their service is inconsistent because going out to Calgary I paid for nothing…coming back all the customers were checked at 3 different locations. It seemed so militant, not friendly or kind at all. No customer service it was like I was enlisting in the army. I don’t know why they have flight attendants…they should scrap that too. On their announcement they said, “let us know if we can do anything to make your trip pleasant.” I was thinking like what actually work and do something like give your customers a drink or something? hahaha. They are unless they stand around talking the whole flight because they have nothing to do.

The price for a ticket is not worth the lack of service, empathy or kindness from their staff. I will not be flying them again, twice now and both times disappointed in a big way.

Save yourself the trouble and fly with a professional airline.

Being stranded in Puerto Vallarta after…

Being stranded in Puerto Vallarta after cartel violence escalated was already stressful. Our @FlairAirlines flight F8 2623 was cancelled due to the emergency situation.

Flair rebooked us 15 days later and told us by text, email, and phone we could request a full refund if the date didn’t work.

We followed their instructions and submitted the refund request Feb 27. The booking still shows confirmed and the refund hasn’t been processed.

Hoping this can be resolved quickly.
As being consistently hung up on after waiting sometimes 7 hours on the phone is tiresome at this point. I speak very calmly and respectfully.

Booked a Halifax to Toronto flight

Booked a Halifax to Toronto flight, paid for a cabin bag to transport my brothers ashes in. Security no longer allows granular substances in carry on, Security advised it was a new policy and all airlines are allowing the bags to be checked for free. Not flair apparently made me pay again to check the bag and stated " we don't do anything for free". Will never fly flair again.

⭐ If I could give -5 stars

⭐ If I could give -5 stars, I would. BUYER BEWARE.

Flair Airlines is a complete cash grab.

We paid for a carry-on ahead of time. At the gate, staff suddenly said it didn’t fit their sizing bin. After rearranging items and putting them into my friend’s bag — same weight (their own website says 7kg) — it magically fit. The only difference? My backpack had an extra pocket.

Another passenger beside me was forced to pay $75 for her backpack, which was supposed to be her personal item, because it didn’t perfectly fit their tiny metal contraption.

The staff were rude, dismissive, and threatening to remove us from the flight over a backpack. Completely unnecessary and incredibly disrespectful.

By the time you pay for bags, personal items, and all their hidden fees, you end up paying more than flying with Air Canada — except with terrible service and a stressful experience.

Do not fall for the “cheap flight” trap.
This airline is a scam. I will never fly with them again.

Hidden baggage fees with Flair

I was not able to purchase or add luggage in advance for my flight from Calgary to Toronto with Flair. I tried to do it over the phone with a live agent, but that was not possible either — the only option was the chatbot — and therefore I was forced to pay a much higher price at the airport.
At the gate, I was forced to pay an additional $120 for my ski helmet as additional luggage, even though I was carrying it on my head and my personal item, along with the helmet, was under 7 kg. So just for one checked bag and my helmet, I paid $230 from Calgary to Toronto.
The manager/supervisor at the gate was very unfriendly, as were some of the other staff members. The seats on the plane could not be reclined, and there was no Wi-Fi or entertainment screens either.
This was by far the worst flight experience of my life (in more than 50 years). I will share my experience on social media and many forums so that eventual passengers are aware of the hidden costs and unfriendly staff.

Personal item dimensions are not…

Personal item dimensions are not accurate, got charged $105+tax before boarding.

Asked to switch to a different, lesser fee seat due to my seat neighbours exposed feet smelling so incredibly bad and I was told, no. Even though the flight wasn’t full. I let them know I have smell sensitivities and was told Id be charged for switching to another seat when there were MULTIPLE empty seats.

Pay extra. Go with an airline that isn't cheap AF with their service delivery.

I am honestly shocked by how Flair…

I am honestly shocked by how Flair handles customers. I cancelled my flight within 4 minutes of booking. Not hours. Not days. Minutes.

Despite that, they kept my full CA$98.45.

No service was used. The flight was far in the future. The seat could easily be resold. Yet they refused to refund me.

This feels extremely unfair and shows zero consideration for customers. I will not be booking with Flair again and I strongly advise others to think twice before confirming any reservation.
