Absolute ripoff

This is a disappointing review to have to write because, on the surface, Florida Fine Cars in Orlando looks like the kind of place that knows what they’re doing. They’ve got a solid inventory, flashy listings, and a sales team that’ll happily FaceTime you, send videos, and drown you in photos to get you excited about the car. They play the part beautifully—until you ask for the numbers.

That’s where the act falls apart.

I asked for a full quote—every single fee included—because I know how Florida dealers love their “creative” math. When the paperwork came through, I had to read it twice just to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating. $3,600 in fees. Let me say that again: three thousand six hundred dollars in miscellaneous, made-up garbage. “Dealer fees,” “processing,” “electronic filing,” “reconditioning”—all nonsense designed to pad their margins.

And when I questioned it? They got defensive, even borderline hostile. You’d think asking for honesty was some kind of personal insult. They actually tried to justify it by saying, “That’s how we make money.” I’m sorry—what? I thought dealerships made money by selling cars, not by inventing new ways to rob customers.

To make it worse, I’m an out-of-state buyer, so they can’t even collect sales tax. Yet somehow, they still tried to squeeze me for fees that don’t apply and shouldn’t exist. When all was said and done, their “great deal” turned out to be about 30% higher than advertised.

Let me make this perfectly clear: this is bait-and-switch. They lure you in with a shiny listing and then blindside you with junk fees after they think you’re hooked.

As I told the salesman before hanging up—if Florida Fine Cars were the only car dealership left on the planet, I’d start walking. The level of dishonesty here is staggering. If they’ll lie to you about pricing, what else are they lying about? Did they really inspect the brakes? The tires? Or are they just as “reconditioned” as their numbers?

There are 6,265 registered car dealers in Florida. Six thousand two hundred sixty-five. You’d have to be out of your mind to waste time or money with these clowns.
