We had a great experience with first mortgage. As first time buyers the entire process seemed very overwhelming and stressful. However when we spoke to Jennifer Duffy she made us feel completely at ease and lead us through the full process. I think using first mortgage as a service is a no brainer and couldn’t recommend them enough.

We went to Lisa and Andrea at The First mortgage Broughty Ferry Branch To move onto a new fixed rate. We received an amazing service all around and cannot recommend them enough. The communication and information was consistent throughout the process keeping us informed and up to date on the best rates available. When our new rate comes to end we will be back definitely.

Top service, completed last month and all went smoothly from initial mortgage offer right through to the end, they made regular check-ins throughout the process to put your mind at ease and gave plenty of referrals for other parts of the first-time buying experience if you're stuck or unsure. Would definitely recommend, it's actually a no-brainer considering they are free to use.

I had a very positive experience with First Mortgage throughout the purchase of my first home. Fern was very helpful, professional and supportive throughout the mortgage process.

There were a number of stages and changes during the purchase, including a change to the agreed property price which required my mortgage offer to be amended. Fern and the team helped deal with the lender and kept the process moving so that everything could be completed successfully.

As a first-time buyer, there were times when I needed clarification or reassurance about the process, and Fern was always approachable and willing to assist with my questions.

I am very happy to have now completed the purchase of my home and would like to thank Fern and everyone at First Mortgage who helped make it possible.

I would happily recommend their service to other first-time buyers.

Poor customer service, poor communication and completely misleading. We had a poor experience from start to finish with this company. They appear sound and serious but do not be fooled. Avoid them completely. In particular, we had a poor experience with Oliver Andresen, Barry Rummings and Miguel Somoza. Oliver in particular failed to get back to us in good time for weeks on end. Always scheduled a call with us to basically tell us our application had not progressed. Every single call was useless. His colleagues were also totally unhelpful. This went on for several weeks. It got to the point where we were chased repeatedly by the estate agents and our solicitors about whether the property purchase was still proceeding because we were waiting for details from Oliver and the first mortgage team. Thankfully we found a significantly better broker who doesn't miss any detail and is committed to seeing your purchase close successfully. Read the low reviews and believe them. Do not fall for the 5* ratings, they are likely fluffed up. In the end, we were pushed to raise a formal complaint with this company and had to wait till the end of the next day for a below poor response from oliver despite the escalation. In any line of business, escalations should be treated as a priority and replied to within an hour at least confirming receipt. Poor all around and would never recommend. Avoid!

I’ve used them twice now first when buying my first house and now for my first remortgage. They have been great made the whole process really easy and kept me up to date with what was going on. Dominic and Nicola were were really nice to work with. I will be using them again next time

Everyone I came in contact with - from Kevin Hamill, who processed my first mortgage, to Kelly Strachan and Victoria Hunter, who provided support with my remortgage - was incredibly professional and knowledgeable and gave me clear advice without making me feel pushed towards any one option. She answered every question and email with time and care and I trust that she found the best offer for me. Thank you very much for getting mortgage offer so very quickly. Based on my observation Damian is very knowledgeable and experienced. He collected all the information and document's require for the application from me and my wife. He spent time on our case over weekend and came back to us very quickly with products from different vendors that suits to our needs and briefed us of the products. We have called him few times to get clarification for our queries. He is very assertive and clarified all our queries with patience. His guidance and advise made smoother in choosing the right product . We have received the mortgage offer in a week from the day of submission and we were delighted and surprised to get the offer so quickly. This now really helps us a lot in planning and executing our next steps with sufficient time and with little or no pressure.
