I started the unlock process with…

I started the unlock process with Expressunlocks as the price was competative. However that was an intial price for the start checks, there was then a much higher price for the actual unlocking process that was going to take 4 days. I need the phone unlocking before then so did it myself through EE in minuetes. When i contacted Expressunlock to stop the process and refund the second amount of money, the initial amount is not refundable, I had a garbbled email back and no refund. Today, 5 days later, i have recieved the unlocking codes. Not good.

I can’t look up or resolve your specific order without the IMEI. Please either reply with the IMEI or use the Live Support link on your tracking page so we can pull up your order and help.

A couple of important points from our terms:
- “It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for.” (T&C 2.1)
- Refund Policy: “Already Unlocked phones: No refund if you order an unlock for an already unlocked phone.”

Because you had EE unlock the phone before our process completed, that normally makes the order ineligible for a refund. If you want us to investigate further (for example to see why you still received codes), send the IMEI or contact Live Support and we’ll review the order and explain the options.

It was easy two step process and prompt as promised. Only thing is read the fine print to know about the $54 charge in step two.

Expressunlock never did the job ongoing dispute

Expressunlock took my money and said it would take up to 5 days and would probably be allot less than 5 days , after 5 days they then said they wanted another 3 so I told them I was taking the phone to a shop as they had exceeded the 5 days , the shop did it in 18 hrs , I reported them to the bank to get my money back and this is there response to me

It's important to understand that each dispute incurs a £34.80 fee on our end, in addition to any unlocking fees that may have been returned by your bank. As a result there is now an outstanding unlocking balance due.

Unfortunately if the balance is not paid, we will have to blacklist the device in order to recoup our losses from the manufacturer, who we had to pay for your unlock.

We have given you a 7 day grace period to pay the balance, after which on the Wed 22nd Oct 2025 we will unfortunately have to remove the unlock and blacklist your phone. Please note that blacklisting a device is irreversible and will mean it will not work on any network, including the original one.
Great company to deal with please be aware !!

Hi — sorry this was frustrating. I can see your order (placed 24 Sep 2025) shows "Unlock Complete however we have not received funds due to transactional disputes", and a balance of £81.00 is due by Wed 22nd Oct 2025 — if unpaid the unlock will be removed and the device blacklisted.

Per our terms, "It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for" and our Refund Policy states "Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable." Also, where payments are reversed we "are able to successfully recover monies in cases where payment has been reversed or charged back."

Please initiate the outstanding payment via your Tracking page as soon as possible. If you’d like, reply and I’ll guide you step‑by‑step to complete the payment.

iPhone 13 Max Pro unlocked after $403

My iPhone 13 Max Pro was SIM locked by T-mobile. Expressunlocks charged me $403 to unlock it. Initially on Wed 24 Sep 2025, 18:00 EST, I paid Eligibility Check Payment received: $24.99. On Wed 24 Sep 2025, 18:10 EST, Standard Service Unlocking Payment received: $54.00. On Thu 25 Sep 2025, 06:02 EST, Unfortunately your IMEI has been rejected on Standard Service, due to being either In Contract, Financed, No Active Line, or Outstanding Bills, and requires T-Mobile USA Premium Service which costed me another $174. They said 'The great news is that we can still unlock your device using our Premium Service, which is faster, fully guaranteed, and bypasses most of the restrictions placed on Standard unlocks.' before charging me $174. I thought now finally it will be unlocked.
On Tue 30 Sep 2025, 14:04 EST, they said Your iPhone 13 Pro Max Needs a Higher Tier Service. Thank you for submitting your device for unlocking via our Premium Service. Unfortunately, the request has been rejected, as your phone requires a more expensive unlocking method.

This advanced service is 100% guaranteed to unlock your device within 7 days – or you will receive a full refund directly to your card (not a credit note). I had to pay another $150. So far I have paid $403.

I just forgot about this unlock request and than I get this email

Per our terms: "Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable." So I can't put a card refund through for that portion. However, I can issue a $10 credit note to your account to use on any future SIM-unlock order — as our terms say, "Credit Notes can be used against any sim unlocking service, and for any device - simply click 'Use Credit Note' on the checkout page when purchasing. They cannot be used for iCloud Unlocks."

Got there but longer and more costly than I wanted...

Charlotte, you can see a very lengthy back and forth through the chat history. I've been more than patient. If you can't get someone on this from 9a-3p tomorrow (with a scheduled email sent), then I will be requesting a full refund, one way or another.

Fairly certain this is a scam

I've been working back and forth with "Anna" whom I'm convinced is a chatbot now for almost two weeks. Gave set times to reach out for scheduling, paid the fees. Nothing. Requested a full refund due to them not even attempting to render a service and it got real quiet.

To explain what happened: your Oct 2, 2025 order shows as Hard-Locked and a credit note was issued. Per our policies, “Any unlocks which come back as Hard-Locked by the network will be refunded in the form of a Credit Note” and “Hard-Locked Phones: If your phone is hard-locked by the carrier, no refund is provided.” Also note “Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable.”

I can help get this moving: we can escalate to a senior technician and schedule a Remote USB attempt for your Motorola (Remote USB is applicable to Motorola devices), and as our policy states, “Remote USB Unlocks will be refunded back to your card if it is not possible to unlock your device.” Or you can use the credit note at checkout (“Credit Notes can be used against any sim unlocking service, and for any device…”).

Which would you prefer? I’ll arrange it right away.

Overall great service

Overall great service. Fast and efficient and reasonably priced. I have used Express Unlocks many times over the years and will continue to do so.

This just gets worse

This just gets worse, Expressunlocks are now threatening to charge me US$189 as a fine for my bank cancelling my payments, or they will blacklist my phone so it can never be used again. I cannot believe this is legal but I don't know how to stop them. I have cancelled my credit card so they can't use the details they have and am investigating my options. I strongly recommend that no one has anything to do with this dreadful company.
Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, expresunlocks have replied see below) firstly insinuating that it's me that is acting fraudulently for which they are going send me another bill of US$100 for admin costs, secondly stating that they believe the phone to have been stolen (hence their permanently, locking of the phone) and thirdly asking for the order number & IMEI, which I sent (again) in response to their previous reply. WORDS FAIL ME.

Our Terms do set out actions for suspected fraud/chargebacks: for example, “we will also forward an invoice for a demand for payment including a £100 administration fee…” and importantly “In case of a dispute arising from the use of a stolen credit card, we will assume the device is also stolen and proceed with an immediate blacklisting of the IMEI, rendering the phone permanently unusable.” The T&Cs also state “It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for.”

That said, I can’t look into or challenge any action without your order details (IMEI or order reference). The IMEI is required and important to find your order — in the absence of any reference we cannot address your specific concerns. Please use the Live Support link on your tracking page or reply with your IMEI/order number and I’ll escalate this right away to get it resolved.

Scam to string you along

I paid $28 to expressunlocks.com for what was marketed as an unlock service. After paying they told me the $28 was only a ‘check’ and demanded $198 to unlock plus $70 to remove a reset lock — costs not disclosed at checkout. When I asked for a refund they declared the payment ‘non-refundable’ and stopped replying. I’ve reported the charge to my bank, Visa, and Stripe. This looks like a bait-and-switch; don’t use them.

Avoid this service

I had a very poor experience with Express Unlocks. Their “support” is essentially just a chatbot that keeps giving you the runaround instead of providing real help.

I paid for their service, but after weeks of delays and no proper resolution, I had to go through my credit card company to get my refund. Only then was the issue finally sorted after one month and lots of back and forth with Anna the chatbot.

They do not provide the reliable, professional service they advertise. If you’re considering using them, I would strongly recommend avoiding this company and saving yourself the hassle.

The €26.99 Eligibility Check remains non-refundable — as our policy states: "Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable." If the phone didn’t meet the criteria a Premium Service may have been required; that’s shown in the order status.

If you’d like I can escalate this for a manual review to confirm why the order was cancelled (blacklist, criteria mismatch or need for Premium) and outline the next steps. Please reply with your order number or IMEI and I’ll get a senior agent to look into it right away.
