Amazing, first-class Gaming Cruise experience. Truly one-of-one and I can't wait for the next one!
Great events and immersive experience. Especially appreciate the teams great communication and ability to connect people who travel solo for these kinds of events! Highly recommend!
If you're a D&D fan, this is a must-do experience. The combination of excellent DMs, an organized event, beautiful cruise destinations, and a community of fellow enthusiasts made this one of the best vacations I've ever had. Event.Cruises knocked it out of the water (pun intended!). Can't wait for the next one!
Highly recommend!
I thought the cruise was very immersive and captured my imagination for what I thought was possible.
I can't wait to see what they do next.
I started going after covid and haven't missed a cruise since. I do Gacucon and D20, and they are both amazing events that I see myself going to forever. The staff, albeit there are only a few, are some of the most friendly people you'll meet. This isn't a soulless husk company. This is nerds who want to make an amazing community.
Gacucon is like an adult slumber party where we play video and card/board games while watching anime and doing karaoke. The first day has some good ice breaker activities and by the third day everyone is your long lost friend. I've met some really amazing people at gacucon, friends that I now hang out with on discord and steam.
D20 is a ttrpg, primarily d&d, cruise that also has a lot of card/board games. If your primary source of enjoyment is ttrpg, this is a better fit than gacucon although both are amazing. I prefer gacucon because I focus more on video and board games, but I love both events. The DMs at D20 are outstanding as well. I've picked up a lot for my home table.
My husband and I have been on every D20 cruise (4 years) and have loved every single one! The event staff goes above and beyond to give everyone - players, games masters, and vendors - as great an experience as they can, even when the cruise line fails to hold up their end of the bargain. We'd go on every one of their cruises if we could!
There you are, a specialty convention with all the perks, community, games, and fun. And then on top of that, all the amenities of a cruise ship to enhance your comfort. This year was my 3rd consecutive D20 Cruise and the wife and I intend to keep coming! We've made quality friends for life, and while everyone ACTS like they're chaotic neutral in their character sheets, wow, what a bunch of flat out GOOD people. I'll see you all next year!
My husband and I have been going to D20 cruise for 4 years now. I just got off of the cruise and already are chomping at the bit to get next year's cruise details nailed down.
The people running this experience have the players best interest in mind throughout the entire cruise. They work tirelessly to ensure that the gaming portion runs smoothly.
Outside of the organized gameplay, there are events to be able to interact with other patrons of the cruise. You can play Magic The Gathering, Board Games or even run a one shot of your own! They ensure both physical and emotional safety of the players throughout the experience with the event.
D20/10! Definitely recommend!
While the concept was intriguing, the execution was lacking. Better organization, more diversity in offerings, and better promotion will allow this event to expand into a "must go" gaming event along the lines of some of the more well known events.
My family has gone on three D20 cruises, the last 2 years with our kids. The amount of fun we have every year is ridiculous! Year one, I asked a bunch of random people to help me create duck themed monsters that I randomly dropped into games, much to the delight of several GMs, and the horror of their players. Year two, our kids made such an impression on the group as a whole that they were well remembered when they returned year three. The kids were welcomed and included, they painted their little hearts out with ImpendingDuff each day he held classes, they helped play NPCs for two of the GMs, one kid helped someone create paper crabs, and then played her crab in the Scuffed Cosplay skit. Core memories are made each year.
Event.Cruises goes above and beyond to create inclusive events that are full of activities and camaraderie. They have board games, a photo scavenger hunt, DnD, MTG, mini figure painting workshops, World Anvil workshops, and so much more. The community is the best, full of laughter, and each year we leave and can't wait to get back for more.
