Not Fit to be in Business

I bought an Earthing sleeping mat but it smelled so bad (like smoke) that I didn't even get as far as taking it out of the box. So I contacted the seller to let him know I was returning it. He kicked up a fuss, trying to wriggle out of it with the Consumer Contracts Regulations to say it wasn't eligible for return if it had been used/had skin contact. As it hadn't been used, I promptly returned it using "signed for" delivery so that I had proof of the return. As I'd predicted, no refund was forthcoming and I had to go to the trouble of making a claim through PayPal to get my money back.

I contacted the Earthing brand website in America to ask if he really was an official distributor for their products as he states on his website. They told me that he used to be but that he hadn't been active in purchasing any of their products for over 1.5 years which is why he is no longer listed as one of their international distributors. They also said, "Clearly they are offering counterfeit product in addition to ours, so unfortunately we cannot guarantee that whichever product was ordered was indeed ours. Please know we will be taking action with EquilibraUK to correct these myriad of concerns."

I wish I'd seen "Sylvia's" review prior to my purchase as my experience matched hers - an unpleasant seller with counterfeit products not fit to be in business. Will be reporting to Trading Standards.

Sold me products that don't work

Sold me products that don't work. Refused to refund (illegally). Bullying tactics to try to put me off. I eventually got my money back through visa. A long-winded and unpleasant experience with an unprofessional company that makes up its own laws!
