I rented a Skoda car at Sydney airport…
I rented a Skoda car at Sydney airport for two weeks in January 2024. The car was cheap and awful. The hard sell for the extra insurance was forceful although i have worldwide excess. The excess charges for tolls is a con, they will not supply a transponder so you will pay the tolls and an admin fee. Do not trust these people, they are everything that is wrong with car hire companies.
Step 1 - Video the entire car on handover with agent
Enterprise Car Hire Elmers End Beckenham Bromley. First thing I can advise anyone is video the handover, with the agent and go right around the car with them. Do this and you will be fine.
I received a I received a complimentary vehicle via Aviva. When I received the car I asked about insurance to cover the car while I was using it. This resulted in a lot of words and no insurance, so I left it and videoed instead. On return I was told that the wheel was damaged, in fact he saw it straight away (suss). I mentioned that I asked about insurance and was waffled. I was charged £349 replace the tyre. I paid it. Went home to review the video. I felt I had been had and went into the office angry, but singing a tune"give me my money back" and made a spectacle of myself - nice, but annoying (I hope). I told them I have high-definition video on my phone, give me an email that can take this. So they give me an email that is rubbish. The don't give me a mobile number that can take it. I mean what century are they in. I got very angry and planned/threatened to go there with a megaphone and dissuade anyone attempting hire. I had to make still images, give pictures of time stamps and shorten the video to get my £349 back on 23 June.
I guess that he knew the damage was there, obviously missed it from the previous user and planned to get it fixed on my pound.
SCAM
SCAM - the reviews here are accurate, didn’t think a big business like this would be so obvious in scamming customers.
Returned a van hire, told it was all good, deposit returned immediately.
2 months later, £400 taken out of my account, no heads up or explanation. Took my credit card company another 2 months to get an explanation (rodent damage to the wiring - only had the van one night, and no evidence of damage provided) eventually enterprise just dropped it.
I rented a car from this company in…
I rented a car from this company in April of 2023. Driving down Zoar Road in South Carolina there was an enormous pot hole, Since it was a very busy two lane road i was unable to miss it. The tire went flat. I contacted the dept, of transportation about the incident and they said they would pay for it as long as enterprise sent in the claim I couldn't since I didn't own the car. I have been dealing with enterprise for the past 8 months trying to get them to file the claim. I have sent them all of the pictures of the pot hole as well as the information as far as date, time, place, incident, phone numbers and emails for the dept of transportation. I have been shuffled around from one "specialist" to another over the past 8 months trying to make my life a living hell. Threatening to send me to collection. I have given them all of the information they needed and gave them the papers they needed to fill out to get the claim paid at least 5 times. This is a very easy claim to file and it should have been done in May of 2023. I will never and would recommend no one use this company if there is any chance of you having a claim.
Extra charges that can't be justified
Car was in poor condition when collected despite being marked on agreement. Got a screw in the tire and charged for a few extra days rental on top due to this. Terrible experience never ever again
Booked a vehicle and paid in full…
Booked a vehicle and paid in full online and received confirmation of booking. 15 minutes later a stranger calls asking for our credit card for a further £200 by credirt card as deposit....sorry we dont have credit cards... I can send a further £200 ......sorry no your booking is cancelled but it could take 3 days for your money back... i need a car in 2 days!
Would absolutely rent again
We had such great experience renting from Enterprise at Stansted Airport. It was the first time we ever rented a car so we were somewhat apprehensive about it as friends have shared their experiences with hire companies in the past, but from the minute we came to the front desk and even when we returned the car, everything was so pleasant and professional. We even had a free upgrade as our car wasn't ready which was very nice. We would especially like to give a mention to the Enterprise employee Ronald Oteniya who made our first experience with Enterprise a really positive experience and we will be recommending and using again.
Queen of the Road
Excellente expérience, mes attentes surpassées ! Personnel au top. Voyagé dans un véhicule super performant!
Queen of the road.
my reservation got canceled closed to pick up date
They cancel my reservation in less than 48 hours before pick up time with reason being "high number of damaged vehicle returns".
Imo if that is true, they could've relocated more vehicles from other location to replace the damaged ones.
Enterprise is the worst
They told me that they couldn't promise me a specific car but promised I would get a sedan. I got an SUV. Despite talking to great lengths on the phone about how I wanted a sedan. Any sedan. They suck. Whatever. Now the SUV has brakes making noises when they're applied, and the heat has been stuck on in the car. I called customer service and got hung up on and they didn't attempt to call me back. Enterprise is the worst and I will NEVER do business with them ever again
was a seemless experience

I got £200 of traffic fines 3 months after my return to the UK! I cant prove or disprove the events now. Customer service very unhelpful. I will not use this company again.

This review is to thank the staff at the Enterprise Nottingham City Center office. I was attended to by a staff named Jake and returned the car to a manager named Jake too. Was given a very nice Skoda car. I really enjoyed the service and the car. Very great experience for a first timer. I will definitely be back.
Thank you Melbourne Belinda
Hi Belinda
Thanks for your extreme efforts to get us out of the car park today 🙏
I was blaming my own stupidity but on reflection, this year alone we have hired rental cars from airports in London, New York, Canada, spain, New Zealand, spain, Germany, Phoenix, Paris and a few in between. Never had a problem. Generally follow the arrows and exit signs whilst additionally feeling out a strange car. There were several others in the same predicament as us having a rental and trying to get out of the wrong gate.
I used credit card to escape eventually but at this stage it is not charged to my account.
Thank you for your trouble.
You were very helpful.
Kind regards,
Phil Connolly

The staff at both St Alban's England and in Cromac St Belfast where I returned the van were very organised and efficient. I would highly recommend this rental company. Mark D

It’s been 27 days and the deposit is still not released. Support isn’t helping too much. The branch I rented from has 5 business days sla for response. Complete joke, never rent from them again. Filed complaints, but nothing happens. Have to go to my bank to chargeback..
Beware of this payment scam
I was supposed to be provided with a vehicle as part of the Renault breakdown cover when my car went in for repair. I went to the Rochdale branch to collect the car. I had previously been told on the telephone that the excess was £500. After doing all the paperwork in the office I went to the vehicle with a member of staff. He said there was a problem with the system on his tablet and asked me to wait in the car. I waited nearly 10 minutes until he returned and he got in the car. He handed me the key and after telling me about the mileage etc he then said casually that there was no maximum excess and that any damage to the car on return had to be paid for in full which he said could be very expensive. I asked about the £500 excess and he said it didn’t apply. He said I could avoid paying for any damage by paying £10/day which would have been £50 for the 5 days I was to have the car. But I would have to pay for 10 days and I would get a refund when I returned the car after 5 days. I told him that I didn’t expect to have to pay anything and I would be able to manage without a car. He offered to speak to his manager and maybe get a better deal. I agreed so off he went and came back with a daily rate of £7. I decided that I wasn’t being held over a barrel and told him I didn’t want the car and I would use a taxi to go shopping. He was very surprised and tried to convince me to have the car by saying how inconvenient it would be without it. He asked if I would go back into the office to speak to his manager which I did but only to confirm that I didn’t want the car. The manager tried to convince me with the same offer of £7/day but I left.
I have reported this to Renault Customer Service.
Fuel policy is a rip off
Fuel policy is a rip off. Charging £1.95 per litre and a service charge on top. I used 4 litres of fuel and paid £28 for what should be just over £6. Won’t get caught twice.
ATTENTION A FUIR / AVOID ENTERPRISE
ATTENTION A FUIR / AVOID ENTERPRISE
ATTENTION A FUIR
BEWARE
Enterprise claims to be the best rental company, but they use local rental franchises that engage in fraudulent practices, including outright theft of deposits.
Even if their name is shown on the invoice when you pay them, you are actually paying and have the contractual relationship with the local hire company, who are often real scammers.
Avoid !!!! Do not trust this company
Enterprise con
Absolutely rubbish, still ongoing dispute since 14 September 23.
The so called manager Ewen has not got a clue how to be a manager, they blamed us for existing damage, and when we proved it wasn't us, they added more damage
Ewen has not passed on letters to head office, and they thought the case was closed.
We dropped the car to Auto Art who moved the car several times and someone then took it to Torquay. We were not the last ones to drive the car, but Enterprise still say its our fault.
How can this cowboy firm exist. DO NOT USE THEM
