Again like many others, account auto renewed without any notification prior to it happening. £140 was taken out of my account without warning. I stoped auto renew as soon as I saw it and requested a refund. They responded to say that I couldn’t as it wasn’t cancelled at least 7days before the renewal. Have resubmitted a complaint and request, but not hopeful of response given the reviews below.

Also a note on quality of the platform. I mainly used the web version on my phone rather than app. Again it was woeful, with poor matches and shocking filtering.

I’m glad I paid via Barclaycard as I was able to request a refund via their dispute process. As all other posters have said the site is expensive and definitely not ‘Elite’. I was sent inappropriate matches not within my ethnicity, geographical location, age or religious selections. I cancelled within their 14 day no quibble period (on day 10) and they closed my account two days later so I had no access. I had the email evidence of this which I submitted with my Barclay dispute, as well as a copy of their T&Cs. Since my BC refund I have received threatening collections emails from EliteSingles. This site is a scam. They make it near impossible to cancel your account as it sends you around in circles when you try but persevere like I did. Also beware of their continuous payment on your method of payment. I’ll be checking mine in 6 months to see if they try to take my money again even though I’ve cancelled.

Do not use this service - it is extremely difficult to leave. It is almost at the level of a scam.

No reminder or any notice for the automatic subscription. They have just changed me, without any notice with £209 for another 6 months premium renewal.
At lest, as a premium client I should have been reminded about the upcoming renewal.

However, my life won’t be any different with or without £209, but this is so Wrong! And should become illegal in this country.
That’s why, I will now talk with the financial ombudsman and my daughter who is a barrister, to see how can we put and end to this legal way of stilling.

Rather then fighting the elite.com for £209, i will/ you should as well), put all the energy changing the bad policy and protect other vulnerable people out there.

Hopeless and useless site.

No one is real

shocking platform, i paid my 119.99£ with the security i could get a refund, no no no cant get a refund!!
the app didn't work i couldn't see messages and my match photos were still blurred.
customer care is none existent, you literally cant contact anyone, i did manage to get an email through eventually, i then responded to their response to have the mail bounce back. Basically i have paid £119.99 and do not have the product i bought. As if some people on these platforms aren't vulnerable enough (me) they have to scam you.

This company has really ripped me off, I notice it has done with many others hence the complaints. I paid for 6 months and only used it for the first month. I had met someone ( not on this dating app) and so froze my membership. Of course when you freeze it there are no ways of turning your payments off, there is no reminder that money is coming out of your account. I’ve just been charged another £144 for another 6 months I don’t be using and they won’t refund me. Altogether I have paid £250 for 1 months use.

I think improvements could be made by not auto renewing. There is no reminder or chance to stop it renewing. Car/home insurers give the option to auto renew and even cancel if it does renew. Elite singles are stealing peoples money. Some of their customers are vulnerable and they don’t refund the money when it auto renews. They don’t respond to emails. I have asked how to make a complaint

Oh gosh where do I start other than to say I really wish I had read these reviews before. I agree with the comments about terrible "matches" which to be honest I cannot even access most days which they claim is a technical error at my end but I have no problems with any other site. I am trying to get my money back but gosh its impossible and like dealing with a bunch of numpties! The site does not do what it says and so you should be able to get your money back. If anyone knows how please post any details to help. They have now offered to extend my subscription to allow for all the days I cannot access the site which is a complete joke.

Wish I read these reviews before signing up. Membership automatically renewed at higher price and refusing to refund my money. It’s all in the small print apparently.

Complete waste of money. Very few, in fact no suitable matches after 1 month. Elite singles response to my complaint regarding this was that my settings are too narrow (age, height, religion etc)...what's the point of widening my settings if it's not what I'm looking for?! Match is far superior platform and offers better value for money. I would not recommend Elite Singles.

Horrible experience trying to cancel subscription and delete my account. In breach of their own T&Cs. They don’t provide a technical way that works to delete your information even after they’ve agreed to cancel your subscription (which you are not allowed to do yourself via the tech). This alone breaches GDPR. There’s so much wrong here in terms of the sheer difficulty in cancelling subscriptions and deleting data and getting your money back. It’s absolutely poor practice from a technical and legal perspective.

Terrible, not easy to use and engage in conversation. Does not listen and use the information you have entered. Matches sent to me all over age and distance specified. Would actually like my money back. Wish I had read the reviews first and not joined!

I only wish I’d looked at the reviews on here first. Appalling matches all a 2 hour plus drive from my location and well over my specified age range. Pointless putting in a search criteria as there clearly isn’t anyone suitable registered

Scam site. BEWARE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTACT ANYONE ABOUT ANY QUERY WHATSOEVER AND IMPOSSIBLE TO DISCUSS CANCELLATION. Do not join.

I agree with reviews, terrible matches miles away nothing Elite about most of the people on there. I’m a very successful business woman being matched with lorry drivers and unemployed men 15+ years older than myself.

The actual site is poor . You can't distinguish between the history of you having a visiter to your profile or if you visited that person.The introductions are often not close to being a suitable match and the distance is miles apart. Very poor. And also the most expensive
