Misleading and false advertising

Misleading and false advertising – Private hire - chauffeurs BEWARE

Easy Gap advertises its policies as being suitable for private hire vehicles, chauffeur-driven cars, and Uber on its main website. This is highly misleading.

When you actually read the terms and conditions, vehicles used for hire and reward are explicitly excluded. This directly contradicts how the policy is marketed and feels like a classic case of false representation.

Any chauffeur or private hire driver should be extremely careful. Do not rely on the marketing pages — always read the small print, because what is advertised is not what is covered.

I’m leaving this review to warn other chauffeurs and private hire drivers so they don’t waste time or money on a policy that will not pay out if you actually need it.

Entrapment is their game!

The aim of their claims department is entrapment. Naturally I couldn’t remember the exact times and dates of wheel scuffs and minor paint events. The claims handler very cleverly and with a very laid back attitude, giving no indication of how set in stone my responses would be recorded, trapped me.

Once I’d loosely answered all the questions without being advised of the significance, it turned out they would not cover. In addition going forward, I would have to prove self paid repair before further claims. I would say the most disappointing interaction I have had with an insurance company.

Such a shame really, I’ve decided I don’t want to interact with them again and will self fund the repairs almost with pleasure. Just to avoid having to speak to them.

Very easy to deal with over the phone and fast response by email

Very easy to deal with over the phone and quick to answer which is rare these days, also fast response by email.

You can only buy the cosmetic and wheel insurance up to 30 days ahead, but knowing I was going to purchase from them, they honoured the slightly earlier price quote.

This is sleep easy cover, so I hope I never have to claim, so I can’t comment on the claim process.

However, if I ever have to do so, I will update this review.

Great set of staff .....BUT

Used easygap numerous times, very professional and courteous staff and very flexible products

The only thing that has took the shine off this is taking nearly 4 weeks to issue a refund, with modern technology and electronic payment systems it should not take this long

Best Value for Money

I have purchased Combined Return to Invoice GAP, Smart Care and Tyre Insurances. The process of buying was very straightforward. I have called them before buying and Jackie explained everything in detail, including step by step process of claims. I found Smart Care to be very cost effective as it includes Alloy wheels. The total cost of all these policies is less than half of what the dealer has proposed.

They only offer 3 years covers on Tyre and Smart Care. It would have been nice if they did 4 years as a lot of PCP deals are on 4 years term these days.

Hopefully, their claims administrators will provide same level of customer service when it comes to me claiming for anything in future.
