Nightmare from start to finish - don't expect your £1.5k deposit back quickly either!
From start to finish, the experience we encountered with this company was extremely poor.
Firstly, they are extremely disorganised and inefficient - they advise you that your van is available for hire from 10am but they also advise every single one of their customers the exact same time. So, when you turn up, you have to wait your turn. We lost an hour hanging around as they also took photos whilst you were there rather than having all these done in advance - more of the customer's time wasted and the impact this had was that we ran out of time and were only able to do one trip to our storage unit. We have been up and down using our own petrol and car all week to take the rest of our things.
Secondly, and quite importantly, they did not notify us when we first phoned to book the van that we would need to pay a £1,500 deposit. This is a substantial amount of money and there should have been some notice. We are fortunate enough to have this available in our savings but it's not ideal to part with such an unexpected high amount of money when you're in the process of moving house. "You'll get it refunded in 3-5 working days" they said. Not true! We still don't have the money back in our account but, because they claim the issue is with "World Pay" there's nothing they can do. We are moving house tomorrow minus £1,500. Now we're being told it will be 2 weeks until we receive this. Not at all acceptable. They said they can offer us 10% off if we book with them again - well, that will NOT be happening. We asked if they can give us 10% of this awful experience - of course, that was a 'no'.
To add insult to injury, it's no better organised when you RETURN the van. Again, all customers must return the van by 10am so the vans are queuing up to get into the forecourt and you can't get in the queue without blocking off the main road, so you have to drive around until other vans move. And then you're sat in the waiting room whilst the receptionist runs around stressed having to deal with around 5 people waiting to return their vans. Another half an hour of our lives that we'll never get back.
The name of this company would be laughable if we weren't so fed up! There is NOTHING easy about Easihire and if, like us, you're already stressed with the logistics and time constraints of moving house, take our advice and go to a more reputable company.
