A family run garage gives best service.

I've always thought a family run garage will always give a better service, buying new or used they are helpful in the true sense of the word,
Basically they want you back.
After buying 12 cars through them, Saab, Fiat, Abarth and Jeep, I've just ordered an Alfa Romeo.

D Salmon Cars consistently delivers outstanding customer service, with staff who are always friendly, professional, and willing to help.

I moved to Colchester eight years ago and was looking for a reliable car. I had never owned a Jeep before, so I decided to visit D Salmon Cars to have a look. There, I met Kevin Cain, who was extremely professional, helpful, and knowledgeable. Thanks to his advice and excellent service, I bought my first Jeep, and I have been going back to D Salmon Cars ever since.

My most recent purchase is the new Jeep Avenger 4xe The North Face Edition in matte grey, and I absolutely love it! Once again, Kevin was fantastic throughout the whole process, making everything smooth and stress-free.

D Salmon Cars consistently delivers outstanding customer service, with staff who are always friendly, professional, and willing to help, whether I’m purchasing a new car or having my car serviced.

I would definitely recommend D Salmon Cars to anyone looking for great vehicles and excellent service.

Disappointed

Disappointed. I was looking forward to taking my Outback for it's yearly service and booked in with D Salmon as they appeared to have a good reputation. I was to wait for the service, but not offered tea or coffee. I asked for my warranty book to be signed but told it was not needed as the body warranty was 10 years. Its 12 years, so I had to go back the next day. 94 mile round trip and 2.5 hours wasted. I got an apology but something towards fuel cost would have been nice. Disappointed with customer service.

Disgraceful level of service!!!

Absolute nightmare from start to finish.
My Jeep was booked in initially 9th December 2024 to investigate an overheating problem. When I phoned them regarding an update I was told it had been looked at but further investigation needed and this would have to be carried out 22nd January 2025 as busy. After that they still couldn’t diagnose the fault for months on end and during that time I had a handful of courtesy calls to explain changing over components etc without success. The whole experience was unacceptable and found myself calling for updates every week for 5 months. After spending almost £2000 on components ie new ecu, battery etc I was told it had been fixed from draining the fuel tank. Surely carrying out draining of the fuel tank should’ve been a less inexpensive job from the start?!
I’d like to think it would’ve been a different process if still under warranty as doubt very much the vehicle would’ve had spent all that time and money being wasted.
In disbelief on return of the vehicle after 5 and a half months they hadn’t even had the courtesy of valeting the Jeep and not a drop of fuel in tank.. Absolutely disgusting and unprofessional service!

Avoid this dealership

I’ve just visited this dealership driven from pitsea to colchester for a mobility appointment in pain this is why I qualify for mobility. I was advised in a telephone conversation with Phil it would only take till the end of May till I could be in a new car! only to find it would be late July August when I got to the dealership when another gentleman but I could obviously pay a considerable fee if I wanted a more expensive car in a few weeks!

Worth the 800 mile round trip!

Friendly yet professional. Absolutely no pressure put on us regarding options or finance etc. When we picked the car up, Mark knew we were driving it straight back to Scotland so gave us a full tank of fuel to say thanks for coming 400 miles to pick it up, and also made sure we had plenty of drinks with us.

From the first word, we felt at ease and like we actually mattered and not "just another sale". We highly recommend D Salmon for all your car needs, and we will definitely use them again in the future, carrying on my family's 40 year usage of them.

I first rang re concern over dimming…

I first rang re concern over dimming headlight. They did say £99 diagnostic, but when I said can you just replace the lamp and if after that it doesn’t work we’ll go for diagnostic, and they agreed. Luckily it was just a new lamp
And casing that had burnt out. Very reasonable (£34), great service and friendly reception. Will ask for service quote in another couple of months. Fiat 500X

I took a deal out when purchasing my…

I took a deal out when purchasing my car - half price servicing- which was fine last year - now they are refusing to do it - emailed the last minute to inform me - apparently the one last year was a good will jester - really - I am now left with a car with no service . I am a nurse and without my car I can’t get to work - I have been left to seek legal advice - I can’t wait to hand this car back

During this very trying time I…

During this very trying time I originally put a deposit on a Jeep with Glyn Hopkin. As we got further down the line I found I was chasing them all the time so decided to take my business elsewhere. Having contacted D Salmon Cars in Colchester this became a breath of fresh air. I was looked after by Phil who called me every week even if there was nothing to report. I cannot fault the courtesy and attention of this company and actually Phil offered a discount which made a big difference to the purchase price. In fact I ended up with more packs and specifications than my original at Glyn Hopkin and quite a bit cheaper too. My new Jeep Renegade is now uniquely mine and I couldn't be happier. Than you so much Phil and Mark you made the excitement of purchasing a new car all the more a great experience.
