I wish I could give 0/5 stars about my experience. For my son's school project I purchased some stuff and his teacher had requested for something different so I went to return for it. Upon reaching the store I was told about their store policy so I asked if I can get store credit so I was told even that is not allowed. So next time I would rather spend extra money and buy stuff from wallmart where I can have ease of mind of being able to return things compare to dollarama,

The Dollarama store self serve machines keep some of the returned change, store regularly deceives customers with lower shelf prices.

The Dollarama store self serve machines, are rigged to keep a portion of customers' change, usually 5 to 25 cents at a time. To accomplish this, the machines eject most of the change, except a small portion, which only ejects about 60 seconds later, after the initial change is ejected, and the customer long gone . The staff then remove the remaining change, presumably for the management to pocket for themselves. I have seen this many times at the self serve machines, basically theft. Another tactic, is for the machines to return perfectly good coins initially, which serves to confuse customers who are making a change count. Calls to Calgary management, receive a standard reply that they will 'fix' the 'defective' machine. Nothing is done. The 'defective' Coinstar technology, which these machines employ, guarantee that keeping a portion of customers' money is built into the system. To make matters worse, Dollorama stores also cheat by posting lower prices on the shelves, versus those at the checkout. They do this regularly, and calls for a full refund of the price are thwarted with hostile 'manager not here' excuses from the staff. This is a very brazen attempt to swindle extra money out of Canadian customers, while openly flouting consumer protection laws. If the price at checkout is higher than advertised, you keep the item AND are fully refunded. Dollorama doesn't want customers to know this. For your own interest, do not shop at this store.

I purchased two meteor chocolate bars…

I purchased two meteor chocolate bars in the store on September 29, 2023 at Brownsline Etobicoke. At home after removing packaging the chocolate had bloomed and the outside of the bar was white and tasted off.

Their complaint process on line is time consuming and they should have live service agents when calling their customer service number.

The store manager is absolutely horrible no customer service or people skills. I feel bad for the employees that have to work underneath someone like that. I will not step foot in that store again.
We purchased a bunch of stuff as I was standing at cash I noticed I paid for something that we didn’t pick up ( shower curtain) so I said to the girl
Oh I’m sorry that’s not mine then I checked the receipt and noticed she charge me for it so I said oh I’m sorry sweetie. This is it hours. He came over to take a phone call and she told him what happened. He looked at me said read the bottom of the receipt can’t do nothing. and walked away
His demeanour was horrible no eye contact nothing and he could’ve listen to the story.

I frequent all the time at the…

I frequent all the time at the dollerama mapleridge plaza peterborough. Yesterday while getting out of my car a young asian girl was going into work. What i saw next was appauling.. She spit a large wad of substance spit no doubt from her mouth in the parking lot with not a care in the world. Y do u allow this its disgusting god knows where her hands have been

Good Experience

I went into the Dollarama on 785 Dakota Street. The clerk rang through my order and gave me the appropriate change for the items I was purchasing.
I thought the experience was decent, not necessarily too interested in the customers, but did their jobs. I bought Pepsi I wanted for a QR code promotion for 3 months of free music. Found out the QR scanner in a new feature on computers, my version was too old to use it. Pepsi for $1 is cheaper, than the $1.25 I paid for a smaller bottle. At least I got my Pepsi.

Your customer service is terrible

Dollarama's exchange policy is terrible. How can every other store in the world accept refunds/exchanges except for this one. Bought a $4 bag but while she was ringing it up realized it was the wrong kind. I went back in and grabbed the one I needed. Got back in line to get to the same cashier and said I just bought this bag 2min ago but wanted to exchange for a cheaper one. After two other people were contacted including the manager, was told I couldn't exchange AFTER 2 MINUTES??!! I said, "keep the more expensive one, I'll take the cheaper one" Nope, it ruins their inventory. Dollarama, your customer service is awful and this policy doesn't make sense. Not shopping there ever again.

Bought 2 Apple gift cards for $100 both came back null …went to the store to exchange and was told to contact customer service which is like an endless maze.I’ve never had any problems with other retailers with defective cards.Went over to Safeway to buy two more cards and they are now keeping the Apple off the display,the lady at the desk was saying there is an organized group that has figured a way to
Tamper with these cards and that retailers in the area know about this.Needless to say now I’m getting the royal runaround.

Dollarama Innisfil Beach Road

Dollarama Innisfil Beach Road- horrid customer service from the manager in regards to refunds or exchanges. Long story short, my kids were to buy two drinks however, went to the wrong section and bought one. I went back in with them within 5 minutes not knowing of the exchange policy but was rudely told “it’s right there on the receipt; no.” This interaction was with a manager which I wouldn’t expect over $1.40. Highly inappropriate and unnecessary. And in my honest opinion, your store policy should be so locked tight that you can’t exchange a damn drink; that is over the top ridiculous! I get refunds but exchanges? Wow. BTW, Happy Victoria Day to us…. Smh

I was double charged for a number of items, I have notified the store and the customer service all without a response. They are scandalous at how they are double charging for items and after paying your receipt is placed in the bottom giving you no time to review your purchase.

This is white Crusty ass bittt, this mayo muncher Accused me a student of colour of stealing.the first time she was like “oh don’t steal” in a sarcastic and condescending voice, we weren’t even doing anything she even followed us around the store. The Other Dollarama someone stopped us, illegally searched our bag and assaulted one of my friends and told us not to come back for a year yet because he caught us “stealing”. These worker need serious evaluation and training AND STOP BEING RACIST.

Rip off place. They display lower price on tags and charge more when I complained the kady manager at Mission BC, Store that that's the Dollorama policy. Look at the picture of Price tag on shelf and the price charge on teceipt at check out. When I ask them to retun the item I was told NO RETURNS NO REFUNDS is their pilicy

Biased?

Dollar rama store is a convenient one stop to shop all for customers.
Unfortunately I was not happy to see any Ramadahan decor or any items available.
There has been Easter Christmas Diwali decor year after year but not Ramadhan
What should we customers think? Is this a biased place?

One time was a good dollar store now it’s not worth it even walk by since most grocery stores are cheaper than this one and better quality( everything coming from China is crap)I recommend any other dollar stores with not Chinese products at all!

Horrible exchange policy

I bought a charging cord this morning. it said on the box it was for Android and I have an Android phone. I get it home and it doesn't fit my Android phone so I get back in my car, I drive back to the Dollarama and they say no exchange, no refunds and all I wanted to do is exchange it ( the box was totally misleading) and it was just such a big deal!! Apparently you you can't exchange or return anything you buy there so don't shop at Dollarama.

Also, the staff was unwilling to help me. They lied that the manager was on a 'conference call' yet suddenly appeared when Ii said I'd wait to speak with her. A horrible experience. I'll tell all I know not to shop there.
