Good price with additional things for free.

After reading most reviews I thought this would be a terrible experience. Fortunately, it was one of the best. 3 times cheaper than the companies at the airport and everything went super smooth.

Awesome telephone worker from Croatia. Very patient with me. She spent nearly 30 minutes verifying my account so I could proceed with vacation plans.

- negative: does not accept credit cards issued by online only banks!!! (that is written in the payment conditions, but not very obvious - you will have to pay additional fees at the operator desks when picking up the cars, if you don't have a fitting credit card in the main driver's name!)

I have used twice now; once in Kephalonia and once in Portugal. Good choice of cars and suppliers and the supplier ratings appear to be dependable. Booking process is very straightforward. I used local suppliers with higher ratings and had no issues whatsoever (and no up-selling pressure - I had my own excess cover). Prices not the cheapest but were reasonable. The cars I had were new and in great condition.

I was anxious initially with it being outside the airport but I got a text when I landed to say to let him know once we were through and he was there within 5 minutes of us saying we were there. Was a similar thing on the return. We turned up and he was there and took us straight to the airport. A few people after us did have to wait a little while whilst he dealt with us then had to go and collect them. Good thing is he collects you in the car you are getting. "

"The only thing I would say is the car had only half a tank of petrol when collected which normally it's full in all previous ones I have rented. But I did give it back with the same as what I got and he seemed fairly happy so hopefully I don't get charged for this "

Charged twice after simply modifying my reservation

I had a very disappointing experience with DiscoverCars.

My original car rental reservation was €331. I later went back to the DiscoverCars website simply to change my return date by one day earlier.

During the modification, the website showed my original price of €331 crossed out, with a new price of €297. Naturally, I understood this to mean that €297 was the revised total price for my rental after returning the car one day earlier.

Instead, DiscoverCars charged me an additional €297 while keeping the original €331 charge, meaning I have now been charged a total of €628 for one car rental.

I did not book a second car and I did not knowingly authorize a rental costing €628.

DiscoverCars is now telling me that the additional €297 was due to the supplier’s price changing. However, this does not explain why their website presented €297 as the new price after showing €331 crossed out, nor why I was charged both amounts.

I have asked DiscoverCars to provide evidence showing where, before confirming the modification, I was clearly informed that the €297 was an additional charge on top of the €331 already paid, rather than the revised total. So far, this has not been resolved.

I find the way this modification and charge were presented extremely misleading.

I am requesting a refund of the additional €297 and will update this review if DiscoverCars resolves the matter appropriately.
